The Reality of Teaching According to the Problem-Solving Method from the Perspective of Social Studies Teachers in Kalar City

The purpose of the study was to identify the reality of teaching according to the problem - solving method from the perspective of social studies teachers in Kalar city، Thirty samples (male and female) teachers have been taken in the general directorate of educational / kalar،the study used for preparing descriptive approach، drawing on the study tool، a questionnaire consist of (30) question divided into five themes. Which are (strongly disagree، disagree،neither agree nor disagree، agree، strongly agree)، meeting the scores(1، 2، 3، 4، 5) respectively، then calculated its Validity and Reliability، The most important statistical means applied in the study are (fischer) and person correlation coefficient)،which resulted that، the reality of teaching according to the problem solving method by teachers to a medium degree، and the study shoed that the teachers' obstacles is medium degree، and includes " do not have enough time to apply problem –solving method" " teaching aids available is not appropriate to use the method of solving problems" " it is difficult to apply problem solving method because of the large number of students in class".based on the result، asset of proposals and recommendations have been presented.

Students' Analogical Reasoning in Solving Trigonometric Problems in Terms of Cognitive Style: A Case Study

This article discusses the analogical reasoning of students' types in solving trigonometric problems based on cognitive styles. This research was conducted at MAN I Probolinggo, eighteen students was asked to complete cognitive style tests and math ability tests. It was found that students' answers can be grouped into two types of cognitive styles, namely systematic and intuitive. From each group, one student was taken to be interviewed with the aim of getting a more detailed explanation of each type of analogical reasoning. The results show that the two types can be explained as follows, first, the type of systematic cognitive style, students can understand the problem given, mention in detail all the information that is known and asked, use all known information about the problem, read and understand the problem, map the structure relational problems, applying a structured way to solve problems that have been planned in advance. In the intuitive cognitive style type, students can understand the problem only by reading the problem once, mention some information that is known about the problem, use the information that is known in the problem, read and understand the problem, apply problem-solving methods. pre-planned but unstructured. Therefore, teachers must encourage and enable students to use analogical reasoning optimally in learning mathematics.

EFEKTIVITAS PENDEKATAN PROBLEM POSING PADA MATERI ATURAN SINUS DAN COSINUS

Based on the pre research at SMA Taruna Bumi Khatulistiwa, there was only 6 of 32 overall students categorized as active in mathematics class and the percentage of the number of students who passed the grade in trigonometry was only 59,37%. The solution for the problem above is try to apply problem posing approach in the class. The aim of this research is to explore the effectivity of problem posing approach in Sines and Cosines Rule at class X SMA Taruna Bumi Khatulistiwa. The research method used in this research is experimental method in the form of pre-experimental design. Based on the result of the research, learning implementation was categorized as good with the average score is 3.48. Students learning activity was categorized as active with the average percentage is 75.58%. Students learning passion grade was not classically satisfied with the percentage is 36% based to the number of students who successfully pased the passing grade. Lastly, students responds to learning process with the approach is considered positive with the percentage is 92.86%. It can be concluded that learning implementation with problem posing approach in Sines and Cosines Rule at class X SMA Taruna Bumi Khatulistiwa was not effective.Keywords: Effectivity, Problem Posing Approach, Sines Rule, dan Cosines Rule

Game-based collaborative learning framework for computational thinking development

Computational Thinking (CT) can amplify learners’ skill sets so that they become excellent problem-solvers. Game-Based Learning and Collaborative Learning are two approaches that may aid in the development of CT skills. This paper describes a framework based on Game and Problem-Based Learning Strategies which aims to enhance the CT teaching and improves students’ social skills, considering aspects of fun. The framework stands out for including collaborative learning features defined in the main literature. Also, the strategy was developed specifically to fit the games’ dynamics. The approach was evaluated via metacognitive and transactive analysis and by a survey. The results showed evidence that the method is able to stimulate interaction among students to apply problem-solving strategies.

Pelatihan Keterampilan Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah bagi Guru SMAN 1 Sakra Timur

The learning system that is still teacher-centered makes teachers play an active role more than students, even though the object of this learning itself is students so that the impact on student achievement is still low. Therefore, we need a method that is able to invite students to play an active role, one of the skills tested is problem-based learning skills, in this training teachers are expected to be more optimized in the application of cooperative learning to improve student learning activities and achievement in SMAN 1 Sakra Timur. This training activity is carried out through several methods of implementation, namely: 1) Coordination of activities, 2) Preparation of tools and materials, 3) Implementation in the field. The results of this community service activity are that teachers as trainees are highly motivated in these activities and teachers have the understanding and ability to apply problem-based learning skills well.

Problems and Constraints in Translation: A Semiotic Perspective

Constraints are an integral part of translation: in addition to purely linguistic, social and cultural aspects, professionals often have to deal with ideological, technical and ethical problems, which unlocks the potential of semiotics for translation studies. The article presents a working typology of potential constraints operating in translation. It highlights the distinction between translation problems and constraints, with the latter understood as any potential and objective factor which limits the performance of translators, forcing them to apply problem-solving tactics to produce a relevant target text. It is argued that even though the terms “constraint” and “problem” have negative connotations, the knowledge of potential impediments can often prove helpful, since it can facilitate translation by restricting possibilities or justify chosen techniques. The argumentation is supported by examples of constraints, their sources, and accepted practice.

How to Apply Problem-Based Learning in Medical Education? A Critical Review

Problem-based learning (PBL) is a cornerstone of modern medical education. Principles of PBL are the construction of knowledge, prior knowledge activation, organization of knowledge, elaboration of knowledge, stepwise transfer across contexts and cooperation with other learners. It provides the ability to identify the knowledge, generate and analyze hypotheses that lead to the differential diagnosis of the case according to the complaint of the patient by using history taking, physical exam, and investigations. Application of any innovation such as PBL faces many challenges and obstacles that are related to the students, tutors, learning environment and other stakeholders. We can overcome these obstacles by more training sessions for tutors and students. In addition, the construction of PBL curriculum should be based on a community-oriented approach because it depends on the priorization of common health problems in the surrounding community.

THE ANALYSIS OF PROBLEM BASED LEARNING (PBL) IN MICRO TEACHING COURSE TO FIT THE REQUIREMENT OF EFFECTIVE PRE-SERVICE TEACHERS

One of phenomena that occur in the educational world is the issue of discrepancies that occur between theory the pre-service teacher learned in college with implementation when they should teach in thereal fields (schools). Problem Based Learning (PBL) becomes one of the efforts to bridge the existing problems. This research is conducted to find out the extend of Problem Based Learning (PBL) in Micro Teaching course since the course must be accomplished by students before carrying out practical activities in the real field in the school at teaching training program. The writer uses descriptive qualitative method. And in this research the writer uses case study as a research design to find out the purpose of the research. The participants of the the research are 8 students from a class of micro teaching course in English Department of Universitas Swadaya Gunung Jati. In this paper, The Students as the Pre Service Teacher(s) are coded PST(s). The writer uses observation as the instruments of the research. Theory of Miles and Huberman are used to collect data from observation. Regarding to the discussion above, the four aspects of competences of effective teacher are shown in the teaching practice done by the students of Micro teaching course that apply Problem Based Learning (PBL). The majority results of the observation explain that applying Problem Based Learning in Micro Teaching course develops pre-service teachers competence in their teaching in classroom. This research shows pre-service teachers can integrate their competences and create good performance in their teaching practice.

Religion plays an important role in a family life. As a Muslim family, we should continuously apply Islamic values as a foundation in pursuing the family life. This foundation functions as a guidance and direction for them to solve the problems of life so that peaceful (sakinah) family can be achieved. When religious values are well implemented in the family life, the following conditions will be attained: every family member will have a sense of affection, be closed to, have no prejudice, trust, regard, and advise one another, as well as apply problem oriented perspective in playing their roles and functions in the family.
