Basically, humans are not far from all kinds of things that are related to social matters, both personally and in groups, and have been around for centuries, which have been summarized or adhered to by the traditions that characterize humans in a place. However, over time, the early traditions became lost and replaced in the form of global modernization which indirectly changed the form of early social activities. Because of this shift in social activities, the relationship with the community at the top level shifted slightly because the traditional relationship also shifted. It is the problem that has arisen as a result of this shift that causes human dwelling begin to change. Therefore, the aim of this result is to fuse social problems between the community at the top level and the surrounding community with modern forms within the scope of traditions which are the source of social life. Because within the scope of the people of Lampung, the unifier of the community is the symbol of Siger which will be the center of the design results.

The ubiquitous corridor in contemporary multi-storied buildings, evince a strong liminal presence as a threshold space. Albeit its passivity, such a space exhibit a potential for playing a determining role in how the social forces shape the structure of community in such systems. The aim of the thesis is to extrude the liminal aspect of a corridor through a phenomenological investigation and determine a new threshold dialectics; the ‘corridic place’. The idea of the corridic place is to introduce a new perspective of social dialectics, place-building etc. and recompose the notion of dwelling in a threshold space. By giving material and expression to the dynamism of human dwelling, the corridic place transcends the physical and psychological constraints of a corridor and generates a transformative space conducive to community building.

Abstract Attention to the work of American pragmatist philosopher John Dewey and Native American novelist, poet, and essayist Leslie Silko reveals what are in many ways remarkably similar and complementary conceptualizations of religion, as both authors situate religion in the human’s experienced alienation from and reconnection with the natural world, draw heavily on Romantic motifs in literary art to convey the “religious” dynamics of these experiences, and suggest that readers who sincerely engage with certain literary works of art can come to share in these dynamics in a way that has the potential to help reorient their everyday relations with and attitudes toward the natural world. Reading Dewey alongside Silko thus offers us an interdisciplinary set of resources to articulate and promote an ecological conception of religion founded on a mutualistic-symbiotic mode of human dwelling on the earth.

The main distinction in the conceptualization of space in George Simmel’s work is the opposition between the activity of the spirit and nature. Nevertheless, the work of art, as the result of the activity of the spirit, uses the material borrowed from nature, but in most cases makes it indistinguishable in itself. Architecture, on the other hand, is a special kind of art, in the sense that the material in it begins to act according to its essence. As a result of this fight between nature and the spirit, nature prevails and the building collapses turning into a ruin. The Simmel’s ruin is a turning over of the relationship that is familiar to the work of art: nature, not a man, is endowed with creative power. The tragedy of Simmel's ruin shows that the aesthetic dimension of architecture reveals itself to us in the absence of human dwelling, which invariably turns out to be finite, opposing the infinite and immortal nature.

This paper identifies two visions of the challenge of technology integration in architecture for education. Then, the appropriateness of conceiving architecture from a holistic perspective of the human dwelling is suggested, proposing an awareness of its technological aspects. Finally, some considerations of technology in architecture, in particular in teaching and learning are challenged, first analytically and then with an integrative intention.

Human science psychologies have recognized that a significant dimension of the distress that clients bring to psychotherapy arises from living in a disordered world. Drawing on insights from philosophical hermeneutics (Cushman), phenomenology (van den Berg), and archetypal psychology (Hillman), this essay considers the virtuous (Illich and Schwartz) practice of psychotherapy in a world increasingly inhospitable to human dwelling.

Background: Cockroaches have been compromised with the human environment posing some risks to humans. Objective: A systematic review and meta-analysis study about the bacterial contamination of cockroaches in the human dwelling environmentswere investigated. Methodology: Relevant topics about bacterial contamination of cockroaches were collected from scientific websites between January 2016 and January 2017. After a preliminary review 32 of the collected topics were selected to become part of the detailed synthesis meta-analysis review. Results: Results showed that the global mean bacterial contamination trend of cockroaches and Periplaneta americana ranged 45.0-80.0 and 55.0-75.0 %, respectively which were increased while it were 90.0-50.0 % for Blattella germanica which decreased in recent years. The global mean bacterial contamination of cockroaches, P. americana and B. germanica was also 67.9, 72.9 and 62.9 %, respectively which P. Americana had the most global mean bacterial contamination. Statistical analysis didn’t show any significant differences between any combination of bacterial contamination of the cockroaches, and P. americana and B. germanica surfaces such as totalexternal, total-internal and external-internal; any type environment of cockroaches, P. americana and B. germanica including households, hospitals and miscellaneous; any combination of bacterial contamination such as between total-total, external-external and internal-internal surfaces of the P. americana and B. germanica; and P. americana and B. germanica in combination environments of households-households, hospitals-hospitals and miscellaneous-miscellaneous (P > 0.05). Conclusions: The external and internal surfaces of any type cockroach have equal importance ofbacterial contamination and they threaten human health in the any type environment. To dwell in finitude. Abstract: The present work focuses on the interpretation of the first of the three movements of human existence postulated by the Czech phenomenologist Jan Patocka, as a procedure tending towards the concealing of the original alterity of Being and, in consequence, to favour human dwelling in the world. The structure of our perception itself and our original relation with the others would form part of that residential insertion that characterizes the movement of “anchorage” or “rooting”. Keywords: Patocka, dwelling, movement of existence, rooting.
