Facing ever-increasing worldwide energy demand, the reliable and eco-friendly use of green power drive as sources is one of the biggest challenges in 21st century. About  200  million  people  of  India  are  deprived  of  grid power  supply,  prominently  in unreachable hilly and rural locations of the country. Solar energy is a free, green and a leading source of sustainable energy to produce electricity and can overcome the gap between energy demand and generation in the developing countries. Solar energy technologies can be harnessed either through photovoltaic for electrical energy or thermal power for heat generation respectively. Present novel research is an effort to design, connect and suitably apply solar off grid system in an isolated place like at the premises of Centurion University, Odisha. The approach is to develop low cost, ecofriendly, and less energy ingesting solar off-grid systems such as emergency light, street light, and water pumps for suitable locations in-side and out-side of the University. The efficient design of off-grid system plays a vital role in the larger development of solar power generation in the country. The opportunity will helps to upcoming researchers and industry experts to implement environmental friendly solar off-grid system, and welcome to a better tomorrow.

The use of solar energy as an alternative to fossil fuels for electricity generation is increasingly being carried out nowadays. considering the decreasing oil reserves and also the environmental pollution that they cause. in order to increase the utilization of solar energy utilization in Indonesia, it is necessary to conduct socialization or introduction to various elements of society, especially students, so that it is expected to provide understanding and will also increase the utilization of solar cells in the future. socialization of Renewable Energy Utilization (PLTS) carried out at SMP IT ALMAKA Jakarta was conducted by giving an introduction to how solar cells work, problems regarding solar cells and how to apply solar cells to meet the electricity needs of the community. The presentation was conducted with an interactive method with theoretical exposure, demonstration of how to use solar cells, and question and answer sessions. the results obtained were that the participants seemed enthusiastic and able to understand how to apply solar cells seen in the question and answer session. so that participants who are the younger generation are expected to be able to develop and utilize the use of solar cells for future energy sources

In order to survive and improve self quality in higher levels of education and work, generic science skills are needed. Generic science skill is the skill that can be grown from science learning as a provision to pursue careers in a broader field. In this day and age, many things can be done by using devices, including physics learning. This study aims to find out the differences of generic science skills improvement between a class that apply solar system learning with a scientific approach assisted by Solar System Scope with a class that do not use Solar System Scope. The method used in this study was quasi-experiment with the control group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 31 experimental class students and 31 control class students in the junior high school in Bandung. Both classes were given the multiple choice test. The results of data analysis showed an improvement in both classes with N-gain 45.9% in the experimental class and 22.8% in the control class. The conclusion of this study can be showed by Mann Whitney hypothesis test which produces z = -3.60. It shows that there is a significant differences of generic science skills improvement between both classes after the implementation of solar system learning assisted by Solar System Scope.

The objective of the work is to apply solar power for charging electronic appliances namely iPhones. The circuit is designed for low ampere and high ampere charging by using PROTEUSsoftware and fabricated and tested for its performance. The time required for full charging of iphone5 with 1A charging is 90 minutes whereas it is only 50 minutes with 2A charging port. Solar power operated table can be developed by the companies for charging electronic gadgets such as mobile phones that can be employed in public places such as parks, bus stations, and airports. Another feature of this product is that three consumers can charge at a time.Charging of electronic gadgets can be done by the common public by drawing power from the battery charged by solar power thereby reducing consumption of electricity from the main grid. The system with 1A and 2A charging of i-phones using solar power operated battery is unique and new to the locality of Caledonian college of engineering and the work can be extended to other parts of Sultanate of Oman.

Desalination is a viable solution to the 21th century´s shortage of freshwater. The most widely used desalination processes are thermal and membrane. Other modern techniques apply solar and electrical energy for evaporation and electrodialysis. Many desalination plants (DP) are located in desertic/arid regions with a harsh climate and limited rainfall. About one-fifth of the DPs operate in the Middle East, with Saudi Arabia producing half of the world desalted water. The final selection of materials of construction for plant equipment must be a compromise between technological and economic factors. Corrosion problems and their solutions in several DPs in the Middle East, USA and Mexico are presented.
