Study of Full-Color Multiplexed Transmission Holograms of Diffusing Objects Recorded in Photopolymer Bayfol HX

A wavelength multiplexing procedure for color transmission volume holograms of diffusing objects recorded in Bayfol® HX200 photopolymer is proposed. For the recording, three lasers of 442 nm, 532 nm and 633 nm, and a Spectralon® diffusing object were used for monochromatic and polychromatic calibration. Monochromatic calibration shows that the maximum index modulation obtained for each wavelength was not enough to give 100% efficiency, although the efficiency values achieved in the case of monochromatic recordings with diffusing objects were high, at around 90% for 633 nm and 532 nm recordings, and 60% for 442 nm. The efficiency values obtained for multiplexed holograms were 19.1% for the 442 nm hologram, 25.9% for the 532 nm hologram and 15.2% for the 633 nm.

Best selected optical fibers with wavelength multiplexing techniques for minimum bit error rates

In this study, six different types of optical fibers (SMF, HNLF, HNL-DFF, NZDSF, LEAF (step core) and LEAF (ring core)) can be used for different number of channels (16, 32, 64, and 80) at different bit rates to calculate the quality factor for these types of optical fibers at the optimum length for max BER × 10−9 and min BER × 10−12. By using the software Optisystem version 13, the work has been demonstrated and compared with previous study to find the best one under the same operating conditions.

A Multidimensional Multiplexing Mode-Locked Laser Based on a Dual-Ring Integrative Structure for Tri-Comb Generation

The tri-comb-based multi-heterodyne detection technique has been proven to be a powerful tool for precision metrology, e.g., laser ranging and spectroscopy. However, in existing tri-comb generation methods, it is difficult to provide a large and variable difference in tri-comb repetition rates. In this paper; we propose a multidimensional multiplexing mode-locked laser based on a dual-ring integrative structure. Combining the dimensions of sub-ring multiplexing and wavelength multiplexing, two modes of tri-comb generation can be achieved with the dual-ring single cavity laser. The generated combs are identified based on the relative intensity of the pulse trains and optical spectrum, and the repetition rates of dual-combs from the same sub-ring are distinguished based on dispersion analysis. With repetition rates of approximately 47 MHz and 49.6 MHz, the minimum and maximum repetition rate difference of the generated tri-comb can be changed from 2.38 kHz and 2.59526 MHz to 2.74 kHz and 2.59720 MHz merely by switching the operation mode of the dual-ring integrated mode-locked laser. The obtained results indicate that our method can offer a powerful scheme for future multi-comb generation and its application in multi-heterodyne detection-based laser ranging and spectroscopy.
