ABSTRACT The power of transitive property. Critical appraisal of network meta-analysis. Although the general recommendations for the critical appraisal of a network meta-analysis are similar to those of the meta-analysis of treatment studies, there are specific aspects that should be known for its correct assessment. We emphasize the evaluation of direct, indirect and mixed comparisons, and the assessment of consistency and transitivity.

OBJECTIVES/SPECIFIC AIMS: This study will elucidate what percent of unnecessary ED visits for chronic conditions can be reduced by extant telemedicine devices, and which telemedicine devices can yield the greatest reduction in unnecessary ED visits for chronic conditions. METHODS/STUDY POPULATION: We intend to use the Nationwide Emergency Department Sample (NEDS) to estimate the percent of ED visits, with a chronic condition as the principal diagnosis, were only evaluation and management services were rendered. The NEDS is the largest publicly available, all-payer ED database, providing national estimates of ED visits. The NEDS contains information on patient demographics, principal diagnosis (captured by ICD-9-CM codes and defined as the main reason for bringing the patient to the hospital), and procedure codes using Current Procedural Terminology, Fourth Edition (CPT-4). Patients with a chronic condition will be identified using Chronic Condition Indicator developed by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and, from them, patients who only received “evaluation and management” services will be extracted using the CPT-4 codes 99281–99283 and G0380–G0383. Then using our previously developed database, wherein FDA-approved OTC medical devices were allied to chronic conditions by applying the transitive property of equality between telemedicine devices – measurement and measurement – conditions pairs, we will elucidate what percent of unnecessary ED visits for chronic conditions which can be reduced by extant telemedicine devices. RESULTS/ANTICIPATED RESULTS: We anticipate multiple OTC telemedicine devices will be necessary to evaluate and manage common principal conditions. DISCUSSION/SIGNIFICANCE OF IMPACT: Telemedicine is seen as a potentially powerful tool for improving healthcare and reducing cost. UnitedHealthcare, the largest US insurance provider, has partnered with Doctors on Demand, the largest players in the telemedicine app space, and other app-based telemedicine services to provide on-demand access to physicians. However, to reach the full potential of telemedicine, and more specifically towards reducing unnecessary ED visits for chronic conditions, telemedicine services need to include capabilities that will allow for the evaluation and management of chronic conditions. This study is a pragmatic first step towards understanding what telemedicine devices would best augment existing telemedicine services to reduce unnecessary ED utilization.

In this paper, we study doubly transitive property of a connected quandle of a prime order. In 2011, Ferman, Nowik and Teicher proved that the group of all quandle automorphisms of a connected quandle of a prime order acts sharply doubly transitively on itself. In this paper, we give a simple alternative proof.

Let R be a commutative ring and Z(R) be its set of all zero-divisors. Anderson and Badawi [The total graph of a commutative ring, J. Algebra320 (2008) 2706–2719] introduced the total graph of R, denoted by TΓ(R), as the undirected graph with vertex set R, and two distinct vertices x and y are adjacent if and only if x + y ∈ Z(R). Tamizh Chelvam and Asir [Domination in the total graph of a commutative ring, to appear in J. Combin. Math. Combin. Comput.] obtained the domination number of the total graph and studied certain other domination parameters of TΓ(R) where R is a commutative Artin ring. The intersection graph of gamma sets in TΓ(R) is denoted by ITΓ(R). Tamizh Chelvam and Asir [Intersection graph of gamma sets in the total graph, Discuss. Math. Graph Theory32 (2012) 339–354, doi:10.7151/dmgt.1611] initiated a study about the intersection graph ITΓ (ℤn) of gamma sets in TΓ(ℤn). In this paper, we study about ITΓ(R), where R is a commutative Artin ring. Actually we investigate the interplay between graph-theoretic properties of ITΓ(R) and ring-theoretic properties of R. At the first instance, we prove that diam (ITΓ(R)) ≤ 2 and gr (ITΓ(R)) ≤ 4. Also some characterization results regarding completeness, bipartite, cycle and chordal nature of ITΓ(R) are given. Further, we discuss about the vertex-transitive property of ITΓ(R). At last, we obtain all commutative Artin rings R for which ITΓ(R) is either planar or toroidal or genus two.

Web-tables are ubiquitous in Web pages. Since tables themselves are organized structurally and semantically, they are good resources from which we can easily extract ontology. But, most Web-tables are designed for intuitive perception of humans, thus, it has a certain limit to interpret table content using only structural information of the table. So this paper focuses on the method for interpretation of table content based on semantic characteristics of the table. In order to obtain many property elements used for ontology inference, in this paper, the authors discuss how to extract ontology properties from Web-tables. The extracted properties include the following elements: Is-a relationship, class-instance relationship, triple, property domain, property range, symmetric property, transitive property, functional property, and inverse functional property, property for defining super-sub relationship. Through experiment, the authors show that their method can effectively extract property elements from Web-tables.

The problem of merging two intransitive sorted sequences (that is, to generate a sorted total order without the transitive property) is considered. A cost-optimal parallel merging algorithm is proposed under the EREW PRAM model. This algorithm has a run time of O( log 2 n) using O(n/ log 2 n) processors. The cost-optimal merge in the strong sense is still an open problem.
