Today, issues of discrimination against people by age due to the aging population of most European countries attract the attention of world and domestic science and are a controversial and multifaceted problem of a social, economic and moral nature. In this context, the consideration of ageism as an independent and peculiar object of applied research is undoubtedly of great scientific and practical interest. A review of points of view on the category of “ageism” gave reason to believe that today there are a number of “white spots” and gaps of a methodological nature that do not allow us to fully and statistically correctly characterize the state and characteristics of age discrimination as a social problem, but also to interpret the available data, to create a reliable picture of the world in relation to the transformation of the value orientations of society.

Aims. We present a comprehensive dataset of optical and near-infrared photometry and spectroscopy of type Ia supernova (SN) 2016hnk, combined with integral field spectroscopy (IFS) of its host galaxy, MCG -01-06-070, and nearby environment. Our goal with this complete dataset is to understand the nature of this peculiar object. Methods. Properties of the SN local environment are characterized by means of single stellar population synthesis applied to IFS observations taken two years after the SN exploded. We performed detailed analyses of SN photometric data by studying its peculiar light and color curves. SN 2016hnk spectra were compared to other 1991bg-like SNe Ia, 2002es-like SNe Ia, and Ca-rich transients. In addition, we used abundance stratification modeling to identify the various spectral features in the early phase spectral sequence and also compared the dataset to a modified non-LTE model previously produced for the sublumnious SN 1999by. Results. SN 2016hnk is consistent with being a subluminous (MB = −16.7 mag, sBV=0.43 ± 0.03), highly reddened object. The IFS of its host galaxy reveals both a significant amount of dust at the SN location, residual star formation, and a high proportion of old stellar populations in the local environment compared to other locations in the galaxy, which favors an old progenitor for SN 2016hnk. Inspection of a nebular spectrum obtained one year after maximum contains two narrow emission lines attributed to the forbidden [Ca II] λλ7291,7324 doublet with a Doppler shift of 700 km s−1. Based on various observational diagnostics, we argue that the progenitor of SN 2016hnk was likely a near Chandrasekhar-mass (MCh) carbon-oxygen white dwarf that produced 0.108 M⊙ of 56Ni. Our modeling suggests that the narrow [Ca II] features observed in the nebular spectrum are associated with 48Ca from electron capture during the explosion, which is expected to occur only in white dwarfs that explode near or at the MCh limit.

Error writing is the crucial thing that found in the public places, especially on the banner and billboard. Sometimes, it has been written wrongly. It is known that Indonesian has a rich peculiar language that must be explored. People around it view the ad or advertisement; they will assess the ad internally and externally. It will be seen the professionalism of the ad maker. Badan Bahasa (Language Board)  of  Kemdikbud RI, has launched the print book of PUEBI on its website freely, it depends on the ad maker to revise the Indonesian using on the ad correctly and esthetically. The objective this research is to investigate the error writing of ad and its professionalism abuse on the banner and billboard at the public places. This research is using a descriptive method; the writer is to investigate and to analyze the error writing in Indonesian of ad on the banner and billboard. The output of this research is expected to be a reference to the next researcher that wants to explore error-writing research of ad or another peculiar object. Keywords: error writing, ad, Indonesian, banner and billboard

AbstractWe report results of Echelle and B&Ch spectroscopic observations of the emission-line object FBS 0022-021 that were obtained at SPM Observatory, Mexico. We analyze the emission-line spectra along with available optical and IR data. The Fell-rich spectrum of the object closely resembles that of the peculiar binary system η car. The discussion of the physical conditions leading to such spectrum and the nature of this peculiar object are presented.

AbstractA brief history of photometric monitoring of T Tauri stars with a 0.6 m telescope at Wesleyan University is given. This is followed by discussion of three recent results: 1) the mass dependence of stellar rotation rates in the Orion Nebula Cluster, 2) a check on stellar radii estimates of pre-main sequence stars, and 3) the nature of a very peculiar object in NGC 2264.

Abstracttitle SUMMARY /title Between the thirties and forties of this century, drawing on a number of studies of perception and phenomena of sensory illusion, the neurophysiologist Viktor von Weizsacker developed a conception of organic matter which was fundamentally different to the physiological and biological tradition of his time. For this reason, his theory of the Gestaltkreis required a profound revision of the methodological and conceptual instruments to be used in the study of man, and of the organism more generally. The organic entity is not a comparible object to the entities of physics, and its analysis cannot be subjected to the same criteria and methods of that science. This being is properly termed a biological act, a dynamic reality whose structure is circular and cannot be divided into different phases connected by means of causal relationships. Organic processes involve a particular relationship between the biological entity and its environment, and as a consequence it is impossible to remove it from its context. Instead, it is necessary to evaluate the spatial and temporal positions in which it is located in new, non-objective terms. Weizscker's conception, sensitive to the movement of neovitalism (to which he was nonetheless firmly opposed) and to ideas typical of Romantic science, is essentially opposed to the legacy of mechanism, in the name of a biology as the science of a peculiar object, of which one cannot ignore the subjective component.

The most striking feature of the close binary system AE Aqr is its unique photometric behaviour - irregular alternations of quiet and active phases without noticeable transition periods. Although extensive photometric observations of AE Aqr have been carried out for more than forty years (see Bruch 1991 and references therein), the mechanism of its flaring activity is still poorly understood and the star - although generally classified as a cataclysmic variable - does not fit well into any of the subclasses.According to us, much insight into this peculiar object can be gained by an investigation of the connections between the flaring activity of AE Aqr and the strictly periodic oscillations at 33s, identified as the spin period of the primary. The latter have been seen in optical (Patterson 1979) and UV light (Eracleous et al. 1994), in X-rays (Patterson et al. 1980) and in TeV γ rays (Meintjes et al. 1992). There are contradictory reports about the relation between their amplitude and the flaring activity in AE Aqr: Patterson (1979) noted that the amplitude of the pulsations increases during active phases, while Eracleous et al. (1994) observed that their characteristics are not strongly affected by the flares.
