ABSTRACT Women in the 27th to 37th week of pregnancy were studied. The administration of corticotrophin did not consistently increase the urinary output of steroids and the actual outputs after corticotrophin were lower than for a comparable sample of normal subjects. Also, there was a dissociation between plasma and urine steroids, which is not a constant feature of Cushing's syndrome.
