Statistical Modeling and Significance of Inputs Studies for the Rice Crop Productivity in Pakistan

Lower production of rice crop and increasing population trend is a tangible question for Pakistan. The current study based cross-sectional data collected from crop reporting service Punjab. The multiple linear regression (MLR) model is applied to investigate the significant factor for rice crop yield enhancement. The inputs variable i.e. owned land, seed rate, DAP, Urea, no. of water, no. of ploughs, no. of levels, crop life periods days, other fertilizers, variety super yes or no, seed type yes or no, spray no or yes and disease attack yes or no are studied in MLR model for rice productivity. All the factors found to be statistical significant except land, level, crop life period and super variety. Adj R2 is found to be 0.422 and it is good fit for cross-sectional data.

977 The Role of Group and Save Samples in Perioperative Management of Laparoscopic Appendicectomies: A 2-Cycle Quality Improvement Project (QIP)

Introduction Group and Save samples (G&S) are routinely performed before laparoscopic appendectomies (LA). Cycle-1 of this QIP showed <1% of patients required blood products perioperatively. We recommended and implemented that a G&S request should be at the clinician’s discretion and not routinely performed. Cycle-2 assesses the impact of our recommendation. Method In Cycle-1 patients who had undergone LA and laparoscopic conversion to open appendicectomies between January - December 2018 were identified using Operating Room Management Information System. Patients who had G&S performed and patients receiving blood products were identified using the hospital’s electronic patient records and online pathology reporting service. Patients from December 2019 to June 2020 formed Cycle-2 of this QIP. Results 124 patients were included in Cycle-2 (versus 263 in Cycle-1). 58% of patients had G&S taken (versus 99.6% in Cycle-1). 0.81% required a transfusion post-operatively (versus 0.76% in Cycle-1). The average number of G&S per patient was reduced by 1.19, saving the Trust £23.80 per patient. Conclusions Blood products are not routinely required peri-operatively, therefore G&S should be ordered at the clinician’s discretion. This safely saves the Trust significant cost and improves patient experience by eliminating the discomfort of unnecessary blood tests.

A Design of an Integrated Cloud-based Intrusion Detection System with Third Party Cloud Service

Although cloud computing is considered the most widespread technology nowadays, it still suffers from many challenges, especially related to its security. Due to the open and distributed nature of the cloud environment, this makes the cloud itself vulnerable to various attacks. In this paper, the design of a novel integrated Cloud-based Intrusion Detection System (CIDS) is proposed to immunise the cloud against any possible attacks. The proposed CIDS consists of five main modules to do the following actions: monitoring the network, capturing the traffic flows, extracting features, analyzing the flows, detecting intrusions, taking a reaction, and logging all activities. Furthermore an enhanced bagging ensemble system of three deep learning models is utilized to predict intrusions effectively. Moreover, a third-party Cloud-based Intrusion Detection System Service (CIDSS) is also exploited to control the proposed CIDS and provide the reporting service. Finally, it has been shown that the proposed approach overcomes all problems associated with attacks on the cloud raised in the literature.

The battle against Covid-19: the experience of an Egyptian radiology department in a university setting

Background The current COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in marked and rapid changes to the standing policies of radiology departments globally. The aim of this review article is to describe the various processes implemented by a radiology department in an educational institution in a resource limited country during the COVID-19 crisis, giving insights into the adopted strategies in other institutions in developed countries. Main body Our preparedness strategy was directed into five main domains: protection and wellness of radiology faculty and staff, radiological examinations and patients’ safety, education, research, and financial support. By implementing new strategies, we found that work reorganization through the use of home PACS provided safe and effective reporting service, low infection rate with zero mortality, and online lectures and theses defense were successful. Furthermore, governmental support and donations were helpful in facing financial challenges during the pandemic. A comprehensive literature review search for policies adopted by other radiology departments in the world was performed. The adopted strategies of various centers are generally similar to ours aiming for mitigating the spread of the virus, keeping good patients’ care, and maintaining the educational process. Few policy differences across institutions were found in the reporting strategy of COVID-19 pneumonia and according to the availability of resources. Conclusion Covid-19 pandemic has opened the door for changes in the radiology department policies with renewed focus on educational, clinical, and scientific strategies. Documentation of the dynamic modifications of everyday practices and lessons learned are important as a reference for preparedness for possible second surge or future crisis.

Ethical issues surrounding childhood tuberculosis

Each year, at least one million children become ill with tuberculosis (TB) and more than 253 000 died of TB in 2016. The ethical issues surrounding childhood TB remain underexplored, and established or proposed management strategies are scarce. In this paper, we identify ethical challenges that are raised by childhood TB. Some of them are familiar from TB in other populations but arise with increased severity in children. We discuss interconnected and mutually reinforcing difficulties clustered around the topics of susceptibility, diagnosis, reporting, service provision, treatment, psychological and social support, and research and development (R&D) neglect. We formulate suggestions on how to address these ethical issues. For developing sound research agendas and policies based on the WHO End TB Strategy, it is essential that diagnosis and reporting improve. There is a duty to care for and provide available interventions to children with TB even if they are not a major source of transmission, and therefore no major impact on public health is expected. Treatment should be accompanied by counselling, health education, psychological and material support to TB-affected children and their families. Children need to be included equitably and more systematically into the TB research agenda.

Effect Of Using E-Filling On Quality Of Tax Reporting Services In East Java

The purpose of this research is to determine the use of e-filling of the quality of tax Reporting Services partially. This research used quantitative methods and data analysis methods use SPSS software with simple regression analysis, which is used to test tested hypotheses, partially, and to see the magnitude of the coefficient. Based on the results of research and discussion can be concluded that partial use of e-filling affects the quality of the annual tax reporting Service, the direction is positif and is proven in analysis of SPSS test results with a significance value of 0.037 < from 0.05. More and more users of e-filling then increasing the quality of taxation services because the taxpayer feels comfortable and safe using e-filling for payment and reporting its exposure.

ANALISIS KINERJA BADAN USAHA MILIK DESA (BUMDES) DIDESA POHUWATO KABUPATEN POHUWATO

This study aims to analyze the performance of village-owned enterprises (BUMDes) in terms of service aspects. analyze the Performance of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in terms of the Accountability Aspect. analyze the Performance of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in terms of aspects of improving living standards. And to analyze the Performance of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in terms of compliance with the Law has been implemented. The research method used is a qualitative research method using research informants. The results of the research show that service performance, profitability and sustainability related to operational standards are good, it is necessary to improve the quality and quantity of management and administration training for managers or administrators as well as supervision from parties in the Village Community Empowerment Agency (BPMD), so that it remains created service standards that remain flexible but have authority, strict and selective boundaries and are able to find the best solution in each case. Performance Aspect of Accountability and Village Asset Development The conclusion is that the asset management strategy (increased accountability) undertaken by BUMDES in Pohuwato Village has contributed and can increase village income. Performance Performance Improvement Aspects can be concluded that the presence of BUMDes in the Village of Pohuwato has added income for the management, commissioners and also the people involved, and has been able to reduce the number of unemployed young people in the village, especially fishing communities who live on the coast. In addition, the existence of fishermen depots and fishing stalls in Pohuwato Village can indirectly save fishermen's transportation costs. Compliance with the Laws and Regulations of BUMDes management has been carried out in accordance with financial reporting, service, and SHU distribution has been carried out according to regulations. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan informan penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada Kinerja Pelayanan, Keuntungan dan Keberlanjutan terkait standar operasional sudah baik, maka perlu ditingkatkan kualitas dan kuantitas pelatihan-pelatihan manajemen dan administrasi untuk para pengelola atau pengurus juga dilakukan pengawasan dari pihak di Badan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Desa (BPMD), agar tetap tercipta standar pelayanan yang tetap fleksibel namun memiliki wibawa, batasan-batasan tegas dan selektif serta mampu mencari solusi terbaik dari setiap kasus. Kinerja Aspek Akuntabilitas dan Perkembangan Aset Desa diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa Strategi manajemen aset (peningkatan akuntabilitas) yang telah dilakukan oleh BUMDES di Desa Pohuwato ini telah berkontribusi sekaligus dapat meningkatkan pendapatan desa. Kinerja Aspek Peningkatan Taraf Hidup dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan hadirnya BUMDes di Desa Pohuwato telah menambah penghasilan bagi pengurus, komisaris dan juga masyarakat yang terlibat, serta telah mampu mengurangi jumlah pengangguran anak muda yang ada di desa terutama masyarakat nelayan yang tinggal di pinggiran pantai. Selain itu juga dengan adanya depot nelayan dan kios nelayan di Desa Pohuwato secara tidak langsung dapat menghemat biaya transportasi nelayan. Ketaatan terhadap Peraturan Perundang-Undangan pengelolaan BUMDes telah dilakukan sesuai dengan pelaporan keuangan, pelayanan, dan pembagian SHU telah dilaksanakan sesuai peraturan.
