Introduction. Practical assistance of medical personnel to nursing women with difficulties in breastfeeding, joint search for solutions to the problem of hypogalactia contributes to the preservation of breastfeeding throughout the first year of a baby’s life.Purpose of the study. The frequency and nature of lactation disorders in women in the first weeks and months of breastfeeding were studied.Materials and methods. The attitude of women to various, including non-drug, methods of maintaining lactation was analyzed. The study was conducted following a survey of 58 women – patients of the perinatal center in the early postpartum period, 28 women whose children received breastfeeding/mixed feeding in the 1st year of life and 16 female employees of neonatological departments, whose children were also breastfed/mixed feeding in the 1st year of life. With women in groups 1 and 2 in the obstetric facility, there were talks about the benefits of breastfeeding and instructions on how to properly latch on the newborn to the breast. The respondents participated in the study only voluntarily. Results and discussion. Revealed approximately the same nature of lactation disorders in all groups. The predominance of women with hypogalactia after preterm birth was noted; breastfeeding up to one and a half to two years was observed in 4% of young women without chronic somatic pathology after the first spontaneous birth. Respondents of groups 1 and 3 showed high awareness and greater adherence to non-drug correction of hypogalactia in the form of the use of herbal tea. At the same time, some of the respondents in group 2 showed low motivation to maintain breastfeeding and were skeptical about any way to maintain lactation. Among the surveyed respondents, 47% (48 women out of 102) used herbal tea for a long time (3–6 weeks or more). All of them characterized as an effective lactogonic agent, and also noted a calmer behavior of the child, a decrease in intestinal colic and an improvement in the quality of night sleep.Conclusions. A data analysis of the survey of nursing mothers and women who had a breastfeeding experience showed that there is approximately the same pattern of lactation disorders regardless of the woman’s age, high or low awareness of breastfeeding issues.

Study objective: to establish the clinical efficacy of 1.0% micronized progesterone gel Progestogel® at the preconception stage in order to prevent lactation disorders in women with fibrocystic breast disease (FBD).Materials and methods. The main group consisted of 30 women with diffuse forms of FBD who applied on each mammary gland 2.5 g 1.0% micronized progesterone gel Progestogel® for 6 months daily at the stage of pregnancy planning. The comparison group included 30 women with diffuse forms of FBD who did not use Progestogel® at the stage of pregnancy planning. The control group consisted of 30 healthy pregnant women without pathological changes in mammary glands. Stages of observation included preconception period, pregnancy, postpartum period, lactation period and long-term period (6 month after the end of lactation).Results. Preconception preparation with transdermal 1.0% micronized progesterone gel Progestogel® in patients with diffuse forms of FBD promoted long-term breastfeeding and a regressive course of the breast pathological process. Examination of this group of patients in the long-term period (6 month after the end of lactation) showed no clinical manifestations of the breast disease (pain syndrome and edema) in 24 (80.0%) women and regression of ultrasound signs of FBD in 21 (70.0%) patients. Manifestation of both clinical and echographic signs of the breast disease was diagnosed in 26 (86.7%) women in the comparison group. Transdermal 1.0% micronized progesterone gel in the preconception preparation associated with no complications of the early lactation period in 83.3% of patients and provided a long (12 months) lactation process in 66.7% of patients.Conclusion. Progestogel® is an effective pathogenically substantiated means of safe therapy for diffuse forms of FBD. The protective effect of 1.0% micronized progesterone gel Progestogel® associated with regression of clinical and echographic manifestations of FBD in 80.0% of women.

ABSTRACT Lactation is the whole process of breastfeeding starting from the milk produced until the baby's process sucks and swallows milk. The breastfeeding process affects the decrease in uterine fundus height. Mothers who experience lactation disorders will inhibit the process of uterine involution which will result in bleeding. one way to prevent postpartum bleeding is to give breast milk as early as possible to the baby. This study aims to determine the relationship between breastfeeding and uterine involution in the post partum mother of the Prabumulih Regional General Hospital. This study is an analytical survey research with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were all post partum mothers who gave birth at the Prabumulih Regional General Hospital in September as many as 60 people. Sampling is done by non probability sampling, namely accidental sampling. The number of samples is 30 post partum mothers on the 10th day who will then be analyzed using the chi square test. The results showed that there was a relationship between breastfeeding and uterine involution (p-value = 0.001 <α (0.05)). As for researchers' suggestions for post partum mothers, it is expected to further increase their awareness to breastfeed their babies.
