Abstract Context Medical student involvement in research is an important metric used by residency programs across most specialties to better assess the candidates’ commitment to advancing medicine as well as their specialty of interest. One strategy is presentation of research work at national conferences in the specialty of interest; another is simply attending these events for networking purposes with program directors. However, attending these conferences carries cost. Objectives To investigate the cost incurred by medical students to attend the premier annual scientific meeting of each major medical specialty in 2020, during the novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, and to evaluate whether “research intensive” specialties carried greater conference registration costs. Methods Potential medical specialties to which students can apply upon graduation were identified in the National Residency Match Program (NRMP). “Research intensive” specialties were defined as those with a mean number of abstracts, presentations, or publications ≥10 per matched applicant in the 2020 NRMP. The premier conference for each specialty was determined by membership in the American Medical Association House of Delegates in the NRMP. The cost to be a member of each conference’s parent organization and attend the annual meeting were determined by internet search. Subgroup analysis was conducted to compare cost between research intensive and non research intensive specialties. Results The registration cost of 19 virtual conferences held in 2020 were analyzed in this study. The average cost to attend as a medical student member of the hosting organization for all conferences was $49.82 (range, $0–$331; SD±$92.18), while the average cost to attend as a nonmember across all conferences was $188.16 (range, $0–$595; SD±$176.35; p<0.001). Seven of 19 (36.8%) meetings had free registration for medical students who are members of the hosting organization. The premier meetings affiliated with the seven research intensive specialties had a significantly higher mean cost for medical students who were members of the parent organization than the meetings of the other specialties ($125.60 vs. $49.20; p=0.031). There was no significant difference in mean registration cost between research intensive and non research intensive specialty conference registration for nonmember medical students (p=0.85). Vascular surgery, radiation oncology, and emergency medicine were the three specialties with the most expensive medical student member registration fees overall ($331, $200, and $195, respectively). Conclusions Medical student attendance and presentation at national scientific meetings was found to be significantly more costly for research intensive specialties, although all meetings were held in an online format due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Overall, this reflects an increased financial burden to an already indebted medical student population and compounds the stresses brought on by the pandemic. More national medical societies might consider free meeting registration to reflect support for medical students and encourage their continued participation in research to advance their specialty of interest.

As a student member of the Atla Press Coordinating Committee, the presenter has spent the past eight months evaluating, developing, and implementing digital tools to support the Press' initiatives in open access scholarship. This session frames those efforts in the context of theology's status as a "minor participant" (Hutchings 2015) in the digital humanities as well as the emergence of a trans-disciplinary domain increasingly identified as “digital theology” (Phillips 2014). Drawing on Anderson’s (2018) analysis of theology’s disciplinary distance from the main body of digital humanities work, the presenter outlines a case for the distinctive primacy of digital publishing tools and open access commitments in digital theology, as compared with the broader suite of research tools and methods that constitute the “cultural capital” (Schroeder 2016) of digital humanities as generally understood. Particular attention is paid in this regard to Karl Barth’s vision of a “proclamation-centered” (Hector, 2015) theological method as the basis for an ecclesiological critique of closed access publication models.

The current study aimed at measuring the efficiency of Blackboard in developing the collaborative and individual learning skills for Taibah University students. Moreover, it sought to unravel the differences (if any) in the effectiveness of the system in developing the above-mentioned skills according to the change of the user (student, staff member), gender (male, female), and the change of college to which the user belongs (scientific, humanitarian). The study adopted an analytical descriptive approach as it suits the nature of the study and its variables. Doing so, the researchers have built a learning tool which consists of two lists of e-learning skills; the first is for the individual e-learning skills and is divided into three main focuses including 45 paragraphs, and the second for the collaborative e-learning skills and is divided into three main focuses including 26 paragraphs. The study sample consisted of members of staff, students (males and females) distributed across colleges of Taibah University (n= 17). The study came up with some results of which the most significant were: the Blackboard’s efficiency in developing the individual e-learning skills for the students is high with an efficiency average of..... And its efficiency in developing the collaborative e-learning skills for the students is also high with an efficiency average of.. Which reflects the importance of integrating the electronic systems within the learning and teaching processes and underlines its positive role in achieving the quality learning at low cost and effort. In addition, the study came up with the absence of indicative differences statistically in developing the individual and collaborative e-learning skills as per the user's change (student - member staff), or per the gender’s change (male-female), or per the sort of college change to which the user belongs (scientific - humanitarian). The study recommends the conduct of periodic assessment processes for the system’s efficiency in developing students’ various learning skills and calls for conducting similar studies to determine the necessary technological requirements for developing Blackboard on the basis of the individual and collaborative e-learning skills.

This study aims to examine the use of social media in the delivery of student aspiration. Using a qualitative approach to the data collection techniques performed with primary data obtained by direct observation and the observation depth interviews with informants. While it is used with the photo documentation of secondary data field notes, journals, papers, and articles online. Data analysis techniques used to gather research data that is complete, reducing the data to focus on research, data presentation and conclusion. the results are confirmed the validity of the data by using the technique of triangulation. Informants were students who use social media Facebook Ilmu komunikasi Unras for give aspirations. The results showed tlat the use of social media in the delivery of student aspirations through'a Facebook Ilmu komunikasi Unras is also a concern of students and student participation to provide a solution to the problems faced by students. Meanwhile, based on thetheory of Cyber Community mown that the formation community Facebook Ilmu komunikasi Unras due to the same status as a student member ilmu komunikasi unras and becomes a means of delivering the aspirations of students.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi manajemen program latihan sekolah sepakbola (SSB) Gajah Mada (GAMA) Yogyakarta. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif, pengambilan data dengan wawancara, observasi dan studi dokumentasi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini meliputi: anggota siswa SSB (3 orang), pelatih (1 orang), pengurus (1 orang) dan orang tua atlet (3 orang) SSB GAMA Yogyakarta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sekolah sepakbola GAMA yang dijadikan tempat pengambilan data manajemen pengelolaan program latihan sudah dilakukan dengan optimal. Sekolah sepakbola yang dijadikan tempat pengambilan data telah menerapkan lima fungsi manajemen. Lima fungsi manajemen itu meliputi perencanaan, pengorganisasian, aktuating, pengendalian dan budgeting. Pelatih di sekolah sepakbola memiliki tugas untuk membuat program latihan berdasarkan kalender kompetisi yang dikeluarkan PSSI DIY. Pelatih, orangtua dan atlet bekerjasama untuk membuat program latihan itu dimaksudkan agar pelatih mengetahui kemampuan atlet dengan mengadakan pengukuran awal, dan atlet menyetujui beban latihan dari program latihan yang disusun. Mekanisme pembuatan program latihan adalah sebuah cara kerjasama pelatih, atlet dan orang tua membuat dan menentukan program latihan yang disesuaikan dengan kalender pertandingan.Kata Kunci: manajemen olahraga, program latihan, sekolah sepakbola Program management school of football (SSB) GAMA Yogyakarta AbstractThis study aims to identify school football workout program management (SSB) Gadjah Mada (GAMA) Yogyakarta. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research, data collection by interview, observation and documentation studies. Subjects in this study includes: SSB student member (3), trainers (1 person), board (1 person) and parents of athletes (3) GAMA SSB Yogyakarta. The results showed that the school is used as a football GAMA data retrieval program management training has been carried out with the optimum. Used as a football school data retrieval has implemented five management functions. The five functions of management include planning, organizing, aktuating, control and budgeting. School football coach has a duty to make an exercise program based on the competition calendar issued PSSI DIY. Coaches, parents and athletes collaborated to create an exercise program that is intended to determine the ability of the athlete to the coach holding the initial measurement, and athlete approved training load of structured exercise program. Mechanisms of making exercise program is a way of cooperation coaches, athletes and parents to create and determine an exercise program that is tailored to match the calendar.Keywords: sport management, exercise programs, school football
