Room temperature quantum coherence vs. electron transfer in a rhodanine derivative chromophore

Quantum coherence and their interplay with electronic transfer (ET) in organic-based materials for light harvesting rely on the solvent properties and temperature effects, as shown in the figure for the D2F complex (D–A push–pull chromophore) population inversion (left), and ET rates (right) for methanol in the strong coupling regime. ET rates are enhanced, at room temperature, by two orders of magnitude if compared to results obtained for toluene.

Derivatives of Hydantoin: Synthesis and Antiproliferative Activity on HepG2 Cancer Cell Line

Based on the study of rhodanine derivative WL-276,some novel compounds were synthesized,and their anti-tumor effects were screened by MTT method. Hydantoin is rhodanine of electronic derivative. Compounds of 3a-3d were obtained by Aldol reaction, whose structures were confirmed by 1H-NMR. Furthermore, preliminary pharmacological results suggested that compounds 2a had strong inhibitory effects on the proliferation of HepG2 tumor cells.

The Condensation Reaction of 4-Nitrobenzaldehyde and Rhodanine Catalyzed by Papain

Papain was first used as the catalyst for the synthesis of 5-benzylidene rhodanine derivative through the condensation reaction of 4-nitrobenzaldehyde and rhodanine. The result showed that the yield could be up to 86% by optimizing the reaction conditions.
