Pendahuluan : Diabetic Foot Ulcer (DFU) merupakan komplikasi jangka panjang yang umum ditemukan pada pasien Diabetes Mellitus (DM). Penurunan kualitas kesehatan, proses penyembuhan yang lambat, ancaman amputasi, serta ancaman kematian berdampak terhadap keadaan psikologis yang buruk bagi penderita DFU. Keadaan emosi yang mungkin timbul pada pasien dengan penyakit kronis seperti DFU adalah perasaan chronic sorrow dan Quality Of Life yang kurang baik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah melihat keadaan chronic sorrow dan quality of life pada pasien dengan DFU serta secara spesifik melihat hubungan antara chronic sorrow dengan quality of life pasien dengan DFU Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain analytic correlative dan rancangan penelitian menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional study. Tujuan penelitian ialah untuk menganalisis hubungan antara chronic sorrow dan kualitas hidup pada pasien dengan DFU. Sampel penelitian adalag 46 Responden. Hasil dan kesimpulan: hasil penelitian menunjukan dari 46 responden 29 (63,04 %) mengalami keadaan chronic sorrow dan diantara 46 responden 27 (58,7 %) mengalami keadaan kualitas hidup yang kurang baik. Responden yang mengalami chronic sorrow memiliki kualitas hidup yang kurang baik sebesar 78,13 % dan kualitas hidup yang baik sebesar 21,87 % dengan p= 0,000 lebih kecil dari α= 0,05, yang dapat diartikan bahwa terdapat hubungan bermakna antara keadaan chronic sorrow dan quality of life.

Data from the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2012 stated that 44% of infant deaths in the world occurred in the first 28 days of life (neonatal period). The research results of the Central Statistics Agency (CSA) in 2016 noted that the infant mortality rate (IMR) reached 25.5%, West Java Province was one of the contributors to the highest maternal mortality rate (MMR) and infant mortality rate (IMR). Infant mortality inside the womb or outside the womb triggers grief and deep sorrow that is at risk of progressive, repetitive and permanent in women. Nurses in the maternity area play an important role in overcoming the problem of loss through various approaches to either theory or intervention. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of chronic sorrow theory in post-partum women whose babies were dead at Sariningsih Hospital Bandung. Method: This research was qualitative research. Participants were 5 people selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data collection was done by interviewing using a guide from the Burke / Eakes Chronic Sorrow Assessment Tool. Results: It was identified that women's opinions about the causes of infant mortalities were planned (abortion) and unplanned. Participants had effective coping strategies in dealing with their loss such as social support, and spiritual beliefs for comfort. Conclusion: participants felt the effectiveness of the chronic sorrow theory to overcome infant loss.Keywords: chronic sorrow theory application, loss, post-partum women, Qualitative.

Introduction. One problem that often escapes attention is when the elderly experience a loss of spouse. This problem can cause psychological disturbance and if not done good handling will also affect the physical elderly. Bali is an area of Indonesia that has a distinctive culture associated residence called Pakurenan. This study analyzes the role of family social support and the resilience of elderly who suffer from chronic sorrow due to lost the partner in Pakurenan culture and the association between them. Methods. This cross-sectional study was conducted with 255 elderly in a simple random sample from a subdistrict in Bali in Indonesia. The data were collected from elderly who gave their informed consent to participate using a personal information form, the Perceived Social Support from Family (PSS-Fa) Scale and The Resilience Scale (RS). Data were assessed by descriptive statistics and Spearman's rho analyses, using SPSS software. Results. The mean age of the elderly in the study was 70.38 years (±5.159 years); 69% of the elderly were female, and 67.8% had low education level. The results indicated that there was a significant positive correlation between the family social support and the resilience (rs = .993; p < .05). Conclusion. This study identified a significant correlation between family social support and the resilience of elderly who suffer from chronic sorrow due to lost the partner in Pakurenan culture. This indicates that the family's social support in Pakurenan culture has a positive impact in increasing resilience in the elderly.
