Influence of 3D Printing Topology by DMLS Method on Crack Propagation

The presented text deals with research into the influence of the printing layers’ orientation on crack propagation in an AlSi10Mg material specimen, produced by additive technology, using the Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) method. It is a method based on sintering and melting layers of powder material using a laser beam. The material specimen is presented as a Compact Tension test specimen and is printed in four different defined orientations (topology) of the printing layers—0°, 45°, 90°, and twice 90°. The normalized specimen is loaded cyclically, where the crack length is measured and recorded, and at the same time, the crack growth rate is determined. The evaluation of the experiment shows an apparent influence of the topology, which is essential especially for possible use in the design and technical preparation of the production of real machine parts in industrial practice. Simultaneously with the measurement results, other influencing factors are listed, especially product postprocessing and the measurement method used. The hypothesis of crack propagation using Computer Aided Engineering/Finite Element Method (CAE/FEM) simulation is also stated here based on the achieved results.

Research on High-Temperature Cooling Flight Test Technology of a Certain Type of Civil Aircraft Generator

The effects of group keyboard music making on the mood states of college students

Our pilot study explored the effects of a new, five-session group keyboard music-making protocol on the mood states of non-musician college students. Twenty-five math and engineering students participated in a keyboard music-making program without the expectation or need for extensive technical preparation or regular music practice. To assess changes in mood states before and after music-making activities, we administered the Profile of Mood States-Short Form (POMS-SF) questionnaire. Here, we show significant and lasting improvements in participant’s negative and positive mood states, which were more robust than mood improvements reported with other Recreational Music Making (RMM) protocols, suggesting a strong therapeutic potential of our group keyboard music-making program.

Reliable time forecasting of structural and technological, operational and technical and economic indicators of marine equipment products

Увеличение объёмов баз данных при создании и использовании изделий морской техники (МТ) диктует необходимость снижения размерности этих баз с одновременным повышением достоверности и точности получаемых оценок. Многомерные свойства вновь создаваемых наукоёмких изделий МТ проявляются в сферах, отстоящих от момента принятия решений по их созданию, на значительный временной период (до года и более). Указанное обстоятельство диктует необходимость прогноза всех видов затрат, начиная с ранних этапов разработки технического задания, составления предконтрактного проекта, технической подготовки производства, в условиях неполной известности информации. Вот почему для получения оценок предлагается использовать только известные определяющие параметры. Математические модели оценки абсолютных удельных показателей, отнесённых к значению определяющих параметров (во времени) наиболее полно отвечают решению указанных проблем и доказали свою состоятельность. Научно-методические подходы, изложенные в статье, предлагаются к использованию в отечественном судостроении, замыкая «обратную связь» учёта требований системы производства и использования изделий МТ при принятии решений по их созданию. The increase in the volume of databases for the creation and use of marine equipment products (MT) dictates the need to reduce the dimension of these databases while increasing the reliability and accuracy of the estimates obtained. The multidimensional properties of newly created high-tech MT products are manifested in areas that are separated from the moment of making decisions on their creation for a significant time period (up to a year or more). This circumstance dictates the need to forecast all types of costs, starting from the early stages of the development of the terms of reference, drawing up a pre-contract project, technical preparation of production, in conditions of incomplete information. That is why it is proposed to use only known defining parameters to obtain estimates. Mathematical models for estimating absolute specific indicators related to the value of determining parameters (in time) most fully meet the solution of these problems and have proved their viability. The scientific and methodological approaches outlined in the article are proposed for use in domestic shipbuilding, closing the "feedback" of taking into account the requirements of the production system and the use of MT products when making decisions on their creation.

With regard to the supervision of the municipalities by the provincial authorities, the sealing up has decreased the number of municipalities but not the volume of dossiers. Due to an increase of rather «difficult» municipalities because of the amalgamation, administrative control has become more difficult. The restriction on the number of local politicians has improved the quality of decision-making. Based on statistics, it seems that the negative character of the control has to be demystified. The evolution points toa diminishing of that phenomenon. Too little attention has been paid to the quality and quantity of the officials who have to manage the municipalities. The amalgamation has made further specialisation possible so there can be better job assignment of the municipal officials. Administrative and technical preparation of the dossiers has improved. The quality of the personnel dossiers is precarious which accounts for the fairly high number of suspension orders and negative decisions. The suspensions concerning personnel matters are a little higher in the municipalities of the Brussels agglomeration compared to Brabant as a whole.More flexible application of administrative control is not only possible and desirable but also justified in order that the constructive character of that administrative control may receive full attention.

Characteristics of Technical and Tactical Preparation of Elite Judokas during the World Championships and Olympic Games

The basis for achieving success in sport is technical preparation supported by adequate level of physical fitness. During judo competitions, athletes use technique to meet tactical objectives aimed to achieve victory. The modification of the rules of combat in judo that has been carried out in recent years has changed the course of competition. It seems to be interesting if there are relations between technical and tactical preparation expressed by means of indices and modification of the course of the fight caused by changes in the rules. The purpose of the paper was to determine the values of technical and tactical preparation of judokas during competition at the elite level. A hundred and twenty bouts during the Olympic Games in London in 2012 as well as 136 bouts fought during the World Championships in Rio de Janeiro in 2013 were analyzed. Verification was performed by calculating indicators of technical and tactical preparation. The results show a significant correlation between the indicators of technical and tactical preparation and the ranking in the general classification of the analyzed competitions. There were no statistically significant correlations between the change of fighting rules and the level of the examined indices of technical and tactical preparation. The results of the study verified the appropriate method of preparation for the competitions analyzed.

As one of the strategic means of enhancing future competence and career, every individual, including teachers, is strongly encouraged to pursue a higher degree. Nevertheless, lack of financial ability may become one of the debilitating hindrances for the teachers to pursue a higher degree, mainly overseas. Currently, however, the Indonesian Government strives to support Indonesians to pursue a higher degree through a scholarship mechanism called the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education, or popularly called as LPDP. Simultaneously, various scholarship mechanisms are also offered by several governing bodies in national or international contexts, such as Australia Awards, Chevening, Fulbright, DAAD, and many others. Therefore, this community empowerment project aims to enhance the understanding of schoolteachers, student-teachers, and other education communities regarding the administrative and technical preparation to register for a scholarship and prepare for overseas study. Moreover, the participants were also expected to comprehend the academic and social conditions while studying abroad, as well as the impact of pursuing a higher degree in their future competence and career. 535 participants were attending this community empowerment program in total.

Therapeutic Effectiveness of an Antiseptic Drug for Ulcerative Finger Lesions in Artiodactyls

The most common surgical pathology of cattle and small ruminants is purulo-necrotic disease in the hoof, which is caused by deep neurotic-dystrophic disorders and is the result of exposure to exogenous and endogenous factors, as well as inadequate, monotonous feeding and non-compliance with hygienic and quarantine measures. The success of the control of purulent-necrotic processes in the area of the hoof depends on the timely detection of sick animals, their correct treatment and effective preventative work. Scientists have proposed many approaches and methods for treating animals that have hoof diseases, but there is no consensus about the effectiveness of the existing drugs. For the treatment of cattle and small ruminants with purulo-necrotic disease of the hoof, we proposed a new antiseptic drug with bacteriostatic, fungicidal, astringent and regenerating effects. This drug contains copper sulfate, boric acid and succinic acid. It is applied as a powder. The healing of the purulo-necrotic ulcers in the experimental animals occurred under a fibrin-tissue scab, and by the 10th day, the abnormal focus was filled with granulations followed by epithelization, which was explained by the energetic metabolic effect on the cells of the succinic acid included in the drug. The advantage of the proposed method of treatment is in the simplicity of the technical preparation of the powder under the conditions of production and in the rapid recovery of animals.
