The purpose of this research for analyze composite material reinforced tesk wood powder and brass powder and epoxy resin matriks as brake pads material. The mix of composite brake pads divided into three kinds are Spesimen A, Spesimen B, Spesimen C, with different material composition next made to be mixing process, compacting, and sintering. This testing done with way test violence through Brinell method, test of wear rate use tool of Ogoshi high speed universal wear testing machine produce data of highest violence composite owned by Spsesimen A with score 10 HBN and highest wear rate owned by Spesimen C with score 0.0004 Kg/mm2. Composite material teak wood powder and brass powder and epoxy resin matriks have character of mechanics if composite have score of big violence so wear rate will more low and otherwise if composite have score of little violence so the wear rate will more high.

This paper is mainly a study the diffusion bonding of 3Y-TZP/SUS440 by using the chemical bonding method. In the bonding interface of 3Y-TZP and SUS440, the Ti-Cu (brass) powder/sheet was used as bonding materials. After bonding process, multi-alloy field with Fe-Ti and Fe-Cu have been confirmed by EPMA determination. Through the microstructure observed by AFM and SEM, bonding boundaries of 3Y-TZP/SUS440 by Ti-Cu powder/sheet had good formation. The distribution of the residual stress on near interface was measured by XRD method. By using of these results, the mechanism of the ceramic and stainless steel was discussed.

ABSTRACTThe residual stresses have been measured by X-ray and neutron diffraction on PM green bodies manufactured by conventional and high speed compaction of iron powder with and without added copper and brass powder. Compressive residual stresses are present in a thin layer in both top and side surfaces. They are largest in the side surfaces due to plastic deformation of the surface material caused by the friction forces during ejection out of the die. In the interior of the green body residual stresses exist with certain region under compression (periferical regions) and other under tension (more central regions). It is unclear whether mixing iron powder with brass or copper powder leads to considerable phase stresses between the two phases.
