ABSTRACT The global and Amazon climate change, mainly in rainfall, due to the El Niño and La Ninã phenomena. The objective of this study was to analyze the relative frequency (RF) of rainfall, in different periods of the day, during occurrences of El Niño, La Niña events and neutrality condition. The research was carried out in the Southern mesoregion of the state of Amazonas (Apuí, Boca do Acre, Lábrea, Manicoré and Humaitá). Data were analyzed by the Spiegel´s method. The rainfall data were obtained from the Global Land Data Assimilation database from January 1st, 2000 to December 31st, 2018. Data were made available every three hours and integrated into six hours. RF of rainfall was higher in the afternoon in La Niña, Neutro and El Niño years in all municipalities. The RF in La Niña year was higher than during El Niño. The RF during the Neutral year was higher than during El Niño in Apuí and Boca do Acre, and had no difference in Lábrea, Manicoré and Humaitá. The rainfall in the southern Amazon mesoregion was more frequent during the afternoon.

Abstract:Statisticians have proposed formal techniques for evaluation of treatments, often in the context of models that do not explicitly specify how treatments are generated. Under such procedures they run the risk of attributing causation in settings where the implementation neutrality condition required for causal interpretation of parameter estimates is not satisfied. When treatment assignments are explicitly modelled, as economists recommend, these issues can be formally analysed, and the existence (or lack thereof) of implementation neutrality, and therefore quantifiable causation, can be determined. Examples are given.

We have presented a stern theoretical exploration of the nonplannar and nonlinear propagation of dust-ion acoustic (DIA) waves in a dusty multi-ion plasma. We studied the progation of nonplannar non-linear DIA waves by the reductive perturbation method which leads to the the derivation of the Burgers [Korteweg de-Vries (K-dV)] equation for the shock (solitary) wave propagation. The shock (solitary) waves are found to be formed in a multi-ion dusty plasma due to the balance between nonlinearity and dissipation (dispersion), and that the dissipation (dispersion) arises due to the dust charge fluctuation (deviation of charge neutrality condition). We have analized the effects of nonplannar and nonlinear geometry on the DIA shock and solitary waves propagating in such a dusty multi-ion plasma. We have shown that the nonplanar (cylindrical and spherical) solitary and shock structures are significantly different from planner ones.

Adsorption of ammonia nitrogen from aqueous solution onto the bagasse adsorbent has been investigated to evaluate the effects of Adsorbent dose, initial NH4+-N concentration, and pH on the removal systematically. With increasing initial concentration, the amount of ammonia nitrogen sorbed onto the adsorbent increased until it gradually decreased due to the initial concentration exceed 50 mg·L-1, and the maximum adsorption capacity was observed for the sample to be 1.31 mg·g-1 at the initial concentration of 30 mg·L-1, and the corresponding removal rates decreased from 94.01 to 3.89%, with increase in initial concentration from 5 to 100 mg·L-1. Adsorption capacities decreased from 6.04 to 0.49 mg·g-1 with increasing adsorbent dose from 0.1 to 1.5g. What’s more, under alkaline condition, the removal efficiency of ammonia nitrogen from aqueous solution onto the samples were superior to that under acidity and neutrality condition.

AbstractA new method is proposed for calculating the potential distribution Φ(z) in a one-dimensional quasi-neutral bounded plasma; Φ(z) is assumed to satisfy a quasi-neutrality condition (plasma equation) of the form ni{Φ(z)} = ne(Φ), where the electron density ne is a given function of Φ and the ion density ni is expressed in terms of trajectory integrals of the ion kinetic equation. While previous methods relied on formally solving a global integral equation (Riemann, Phys. Plasmas, vol. 13, 2006, paper no. 013503; Kos et al., Phys. Plasmas, vol. 16, 2009, paper no. 093503), the present method is characterized by piecewise analytic solution of the plasma equation in reasonably small intervals of z. As a first concrete application, Φ(z) is found analytically through order z4 near the center of a collisionless Tonks–Langmuir discharge with a cold-ion source.

This article focuses on the two-flavor color superconducting phase at moderate baryon density. In order to simultaneously investigate the chiral phase transition and the color superconducting phase transition, the Nambu–Gorkov formalism is extended to treat the quark-antiquark and diquark condensates on an equal footing. The competition between the chiral condensate and the diquark condensate is analyzed. The cold dense charge neutral two-flavor quark system is investigated in detail. Under the local charge neutrality condition, the ground state of two-flavor quark matter is sensitive to the coupling strength in the diquark channel. When the diquark coupling strength is around the value obtained from the Fierz transformation or from fitting the vacuum bayron mass, the ground state of charge neutral two-flavor quark matter is in a thermal stable gapless 2SC (g2SC) phase. The unusual properties at zero as well as nonzero temperatures and the chromomagnetic properties of the g2SC phase are reviewed. Under the global charge neutrality condition, assuming the surface tension is negligible, the mixed phase composed of the regular 2SC phase and normal quark matter is more favorable than the g2SC phase. A hybrid nonstrange neutron star is constructed.
