The study aims to check the awareness level of people towards Right to Information Act 2013 and also examines the role of key stakeholders in RTI Act Awareness Campaign. The study further investigates the barriers to effective awareness campaign of RTI Act 2013. A mix method research design has been adopted (Survey and intensive interview) to collect data. The study implies Democratic and Social Responsibility theory by Michael Laurence & Siebert, Peterson and Schramm. Purposive sampling method was used for conducting survey. Intensive interviews were taken from bureaucrats, politicians and the leaders of civil society from Pakistan. Findings showed few significant perspectives. Punjab Government enacted Right to Information as a bargain for aid from international community which reflects government’s disinterest and lack of concern for RTI’s effective implementation and awareness of general public.

The Covid-19 pandemic has led many people to reduce gathering outside their homes. The imposition of social restrictions and territorial quarantine has caused social unrest in many sectors of society. This social unrest occurs because economic activities have stopped or decreased suddenly and income has decreased drastically. Social unrest is an escalation process that must be handled immediately so that it does not escalate to a higher level. The level of social unrest begins with disappointment with a policy experienced by a community. This social unrest is experienced by Betawi’s traditional arts and culture performers in Jakarta due to a sudden decrease in the number of artistic and cultural activities that have an impact on their economic activities. Their social unrest data is then collected by Jakarta Capital City Government, through the Jakarta Culture Office via an intensive interview with Betawi’s traditional arts and culture figures. The results of the interviews were identified and then used as the basis for formulating policies that could reduce social unrest in the Betawi arts and cultural performers. Preventing social unrest from moving to a greater level means preventing greater handling costs that have to be carried out at a larger level.

Abstract Objective: To understand the meaning of the nursing process for the identity construction of nursing professionals. Method: A qualitative study based on the data-based theory and symbolic interactionism, carried out with 12 nursing professionals from November 2015 to February 2016 in a reference hospital in the south of Brazil. The data were collected through an intensive interview, analyzed using Nvivo® software. Results: The data show that the Nursing Process enabled professionals to assume multiple identities that contributed to the construction of the institutional identity of the nationally and internationally recognized hospital. Conclusion: The multiple individual, collective, and institutional identities are fostered by the construction, deconstruction, and reconstruction movements that make up this model of care, allowing for the creation of a culture of appreciation of the nursing process as a working method, that is, the nursing process was the origin of the nursing identity of the hospital.

This article focuses on the results of the study on family values of Vietnamese living in Vietnam and Poland. The participants were 196 Vietnamese (100 people in Vietnam, 96 people in Poland) and 15 people who got married with Poles. The methods used included questionnaire and intensive interview. The study used traditional family values of Vietnamese as the background for data analyses and comparison of two groups. The study results showed that Vietnamese participants continued to confirm basic traditional family values such as filial piety, respect for parents, especially in parents – offspring relations; faithfulness, benevolence and righteousness in husband – wife relations. Besides, some differences were revealed such as participants living in Poland having more freedom than other group in relationships with offspring, and are more flexibility in opinions and behavior about sex issues. These findings confirm that living and working overseas bring some changes to the system of accepted family values.

Despite the growing popularity of participatory video as a tool for facilitating youth empowerment, the methodology and impacts of the practice are extremely understudied. This paper describes a study design created to examine youth media methodology and the ethical dilemmas that arose in its attempted implementation. Specifically, elements that added “rigor” to the study (i.e., randomization, pre- and post-measures, and an intensive interview) conflicted with the fundamental tenets of youth participation. The paper concludes with suggestions for studying participatory media methodologies that are more in line with an ethics of participation.

Utilizing intensive interview data from inmates in one of the most overcrowded and underresourced jails in Metro Manila, Philippines, this article explores the origins and roles of inmate pangkats (a derivative of gangs) in jail management. Responding to institutional deficiencies, such as police misconduct and court case delays, and structural shortages, such as lack of space, operational resources, and personnel, this article investigates how the pangkats supplement jail management and help keep the jail operations afloat. Specifically, this article documents how the pangkats put out fires: their intricate roles in mitigating pains of imprisonment, conflict mediation, order maintenance, and instilling discipline among their members. This article also details the emergence of a give-and-take relationship that develops between and among the pangkats and jail officials that are reflective of the Philippine sociocultural realities. Implications to theory on prison community and policy on gang management in a developing country context are discussed.

In this article, I connect globalization and qualitative methodological practice, describing a semester-long intensive interview project about the anti-apartheid movement. I provide a detailed overview of the project as well as considerations for those who might want to adapt it for their own courses. Using students’ reflections on the projects and their final papers, I demonstrate that this project successfully introduces students to a transnational social movement and provides valuable methodological practice.
