The article provides the research results concerning the effect of antidicotyledonous herbicide Sekator Turbo, OD (a.i. amidosulfuron + iodosulfuron-methyl-sodium + mefenpyr-diethyl) in a tank mixture with various graminicides Quickstep, FEM (a.i. clethodim + haloxyfop-P-methyl), Bagheera, EC (a.i. quizalofop-P-tefuryl), Fuzilad Forte, EC (a.i. fluazifop-P-butyl), Miura, EC (a.i. quizalofop-P-ethyl), and Zellek-super, EC (a.i. haloxyfop-P-methyl) on the yield structure elements and the productivity of lowlinolenic (Nilin) and linolenic (FLIZ) varieties of oil flax on leached chernozem of the Western Ciscaucasia. We have found that the treatment of sowings with herbicides did not have a significant effect on the yield structure elements (thousand-seed weight and bulk weight of seeds). The treatment of sowings of the variety Nilin with the composition of Sekator Turbo + Bagheera or Sekator Turbo + Miura, and the variety FLIZ with Sekator Turbo + Bagheera, Sekator Turbo + Quickstep, Sekator Turbo + Fuzilad Forte, Sekator Turbo + Miura contributes to the receiving of oil flax yield at the level of the control with manual weeding. Tank mixtures of Sekator Turbo + Bagheera, Sekator Turbo + Miura decreased the oil content of seeds of the variety Nilin by 0.5 %. The application of herbicides Sekator Turbo, OD (0.1 l/ha) + Bagheera, EC (1.5 l/ha) provided the highest oil yield of the variety Nilin – 0.34 t/ha, and of the variety FLIZ – 0.54 t/ha. The composition of Sekator Turbo + Zellek-super led to a significant decrease in the productivity and oil content of seeds of the variety FLIZ – by 0.15 t/ha and 0.6 %, respectively.

There are summarized data on factors affecting on quality and sanitary indices of wheat germs in the process of storage: the number of peroxides, microbiological contamination, bulk weight, angle of natural slip. There was performed an analysis of approaches of stabilization of these indices, there was substantiated the urgency of a comprehensive research on the development of a method for inhibition of oxidative processes and the growth of microorganisms. The treatment of wheat germs before placement in storage with compositions of organic acids - succinic, ascorbic, fumaric acid was found to increase the shelf life of wheat germs to be processedfrom 7 days to 8 weeks. The proposed treatment was revealed to reduce the number ofperoxide value and importance of the bacterial contamination of the germs, at that products of the pressing the germs stabilized by organic acids meet the requirements of the technical documentation, and germ expeller is additionally enriched by compositions of organic acids in an amount of 0,5 - 1,0%.

The article developed a mathematical model of the stress-strain state of a tubular conveyor belt filled with bulk load. In this case, the belt is considered as a thin elastic inextensible cylindrical shell, and the bulk load in the belt is in the limit state. A system of differential equilibrium equations for a tubular belt with a bulk load with respect to forces and bending moments in a belt was obtained, which, when simplified, was reduced to a fourth-order differential equation for belt deflections. Based on this mathematical model, analytical dependencies of the deflections of the tubular conveyor belt on the parameters of the conveyor, the radius and properties of the belt, as well as the properties of the bulk load are obtained and analyzed. As a result, the maximum allowable distance between the roller supports of the tubular conveyor is determined. It was found that the allowable distance between the roller bearings is directly proportional to the tension of the belt and inversely proportional to the square of the radius of the belt and the bulk weight of the load. The research results can be used in the design of tubular belt conveyors transporting bulk load.

This paper presents the findings of a theoretical analysis of a two-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT) for electric vehicle applications. Electric drives incorporating DCTs can offer improved driving economy and range, acceleration and climbing gradeability, with potentially smaller electric motors (EMs). Overall powertrain performance is simulated with different standard driving cycles, including urban, extra-urban, and constant speed driving, and different EM power ratings. Simulation results are compared against equivalent single-speed powertrain, including a conceptual evaluation of powertrain bulk, weight and cost. Despite added complexity of including a DCT, the simulated driving range is increased by shifting the operating region of the electric motor to greater efficiency regions. This is shown to be more predominant during high-speed driving. In addition, satisfactory drive performance can be achieved with smaller EMs, compensating for added transmission bulk, weight and cost. An outline of further areas of two-speed electric drive research and applications conclude this paper.

The effects of heating wood have been studied for many years with much of the work focused on the curing, ignition, extraction of gaseous and liquid by-products, production of charcoal and, of course, high temperature oxidation, i.e. combustion. Research techniques include bulk weight-loss studies or differential gravimetric analysis (DTA), analyses of the evolution of a wide variety of C-O-H organic compounds by gas chromatography and mass spectroscopy, observing critical times and temperatures for piloted and smoldering ignition, analyses of heat energy absorption and release using Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) and measurement of the caloric value of firewood and charcoal. Optical microscopy has been used in support of these studies but surprisingly little electron microscopy has been carried out.The stimulus for this research was curiosity about structural changes during long term heating of wood that increase its' susceptibility to spontaneous, i.e., smoldering combustion. The literature on fire origin investigations contains numerous references to cases where fires were believed to have resulted from spontaneous ignition of structural wood members after years of exposure to steam heating pipes.
