The purpose of our study was to develop methods for creating hybrid nanostructures based on colloidal Ag2S quantum dots, pyramidal silver nanoparticles, Au nanorods, and to determine the spectral-luminescent manifestations of exciton-plasmon interactions in these structures. The objects of the study were Ag2S quantum dots passivated with thioglycolic acid (Ag2S/TGA QDs) and 2-mercaptopropionic acid (Ag2S/2-MPA QDs), gold nanorods (Au NRs), silver nanoparticles with pyramidal geometry (Ag NPs), and their mixtures. The spectral properties were studied using a USB2000+ with a PMC-100-20 photomultiplier system (Becker & Hickl Germany). The article considers the transformation of the luminescence spectra of colloidal Ag2S/TGA QDs and Ag2S/2-MPA QDs in mixtures with pyramidal Ag NPs and Au NRs. The study demonstratedthe presence of the effects of the contour transformation of the luminescence spectra due to the Fano effect, as well as the luminescence quenching following direct contact between QDs and NPs

AbstractThe ordinary Fano effect occurs in many-electron atoms and requires an autoionizing state. With such a state, photo-ionization may proceed via pathways that interfere, and the characteristic asymmetric resonance structures appear in the continuum. Here we demonstrate that Fano structure may also be induced without need of auto-ionization, by dressing the continuum with an ordinary bound state in any atom by a coupling laser. Using multi-photon processes gives complete, ultra-fast control over the interference. We show that a line-shape index q near unity (maximum asymmetry) may be produced in hydrogenic silicon donors with a relatively weak beam. Since the Fano lineshape has both constructive and destructive interference, the laser control opens the possibility of state-selective detection with enhancement on one side of resonance and invisibility on the other. We discuss a variety of atomic and molecular spectroscopies, and in the case of silicon donors we provide a calculation for a qubit readout application.

It is well known that Fano effect usually requires the introduction of asymmetric (or breaking) in their structure designs. The smaller the degree of breaking, the more obvious the Fano effect. However, the small degree of breaking demands extremely precise manufacturing capabilities and levels. This paper proposes a novel robust metallic array structure that can achieve a Fano-like effect with a high [Formula: see text]-factor as 73, consisting of a square patch and a closed-ring resonator. This distinct Fano-like resonance originates from the interactions of quadrupole resonance mode and dipole resonance mode. Moreover, the effect of the size and conductivity of the square patch on the Fano effect are discussed, and the sensing performance of this structure is also discussed. These results will pave the way for designing practical sensors and optical switches in the terahertz frequency range.
