At high temperature conditions, the glass molten by the combined action of gravity and surface tension form an oval. Through digital image measurement system we can obtain glass molten oval contours and the contact angle. By the Bashforth-Adams equation which deduced from Young- Laplace equation to obtain the glass molten' surface tension at the corresponding temperature conditions. This method has good reproducibility and accuracy.

In the field of structural health monitoring, digital image measurement as a new monitoring technology is gradually being widely used. Real-time measurement for the torsion, however, has been the difficulty in the high-rise structure monitoring. This paper first analyzes the factors that caused the structure’s torsion and introduced the principle, but also the working mode of this new image measurement system, then a measuring scheme for high-rise structure’s torsion has been proposed, which indicates that this measurement technique is an effective new method.
