"Spirituality at the Horizon of Religious Phenomenology and Pastoral Psychology. We are living in a designer world, where not only the circumstances but our gods will be created consciously. We hunger for a God. Choosing an inadequate god, a god too small to transcend our limitations and who therefore can neither save nor transform us, drives us to keep hunting. This study reviews the phenomenology of Christian spirituality, religious practice and places special emphasis on these areas. We can find a correlation between spirituality and spiritual well-being and happiness, factors which contribute to a positive personal development. We are condemned to meaning. There is a universal impulse to assign meaning to our joys and sorrows. Christian spirituality is a condition for us to reframe and understand our life perspectives and reach the “Courage to be” (Tillich). Keywords: spirituality, phenomenology, spiritual well-being, pastoral psychology "

In the spring of 1934, May’s father leaves his family and Rollo is recalled to Michigan to take charge. He does so and becomes a counselor at the Michigan State Y and a campus counselor. That experience and his time with Adler in Vienna spur him to write about student counseling in several articles. He begins to craft a future merging religious and psychological themes. These articles and word-of-mouth in the Y network make him known as a future practitioner of pastoral psychology. At the same time, he works hard and successfully puts his family on an even keel.

Abstract In this review article, Graeme Smith, A Short History of Secularism, is reviewed with its main arguments regarding secularisation debate. A radical reconsideration of secularism and its social history, starting with the Greeks and continuing to modernity and the contemporary period, are offered by this book. The book’s attempt to construct a historical narrative of Christianity is an essential contribution to literature. It highlights the changes Christianity is exposed to as it moved across Europe and different mindsets that influenced people during this period. Students who are interested in studies in pastoral psychology, religion, and secularism are the primary audience for this monograph. However, anyone interested in the secularism debate will find it interesting.
