There is a significant disparity in roles, responsibilities, education, training, and expertise between the school nurse and building administrator. Because of this disparity, a natural chasm must be bridged to optimize student health, safety, well-being, and achievement in the classroom while meeting the individual needs of both professionals. This article constructs and presents a new school nurse-building administrator relationship model, the foundation of which is formed from the pioneering and seminal work on high-performance professional relationships and outcomes of Lewin and Drucker. The authors posit that this new model provides the framework for successful school nurse-building administrator interactions that will lead to optimal student outcomes.

Maintenance of multi-family buildings is a difficult and complex task, which requires a proper (multi-criteria) assessment of a building’s condition as well as determining and planning maintenance costs. It requires from a building administrator to be well experienced and have skills in making decisions, which include a proper investment of limited funds allocated for maintenance. This task is usually preceded by the analysis of cost-effectiveness and validity to perform certain repairs. Taking into account the above the authors proposed a model supporting an administrator in making decisions while determining a scope of building renovation. The system algorithm proposed comprises a few stages including: building condition and its proposed repair evaluation and the choice of renovation variant. It is based on tools such as multicriteria methods to support decisions and linear programming. Calculations conducted using the suggested model allow an administrator to obtain key information for appropriate maintenance of a building, i.e. to determine a renovation variant and its cost as well as a monthly renovation contribution (at assumed number of years) to achieve assumed condition of a building.

The following vignette describes a way to use different types of technology with gifted students. The students' grades ranged from three through six in a school district. Gifted students used a variety of skills—leadership, creativity, performing arts, and technology—to develop a motivational video. The video was designed to be used to generate excitement for upcoming state assessment. The building administrator suggested the project, and the gifted students were engaged in almost all stages of production. From development to the final production, the students were engaged. Students used iPhones, iMovie, and a MAC computer to develop their product and produced a video to motivate fellow students.
