Annotation. The aim of the work – on the basis of scientific literature to consider the current state of prediction and diagnosis of hypertension using biomarkers. A review analysis of literature sources of domestic and foreign authors on the polymorphism of the SIRT1 gene and the possibility of using data of the biomarker SIRT1 in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with cardiovascular pathology and the concentration of SIRT1 in the blood plasma of 79 practically healthy men, 40-60 years old, residents of the Podilia region of Ukraine with carriers of polymorphic SIRT1 genes, genotype GG, CC and CG was studied. The concentration of SIRT1 in the blood plasma of the examined men was determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Genotyping of the SIRT1 gene was performed by polymerase chain reaction. Processing of the obtained results was performed using STATISTICA 6.0. Practically healthy men from the Podilia region of Ukraine are dominated by variants of the CC and CG genotypes. The concentration of SIRT1 in the blood plasma of men, residents of the Podilia region of Ukraine without signs of cardiovascular pathology is not associated with polymorphism of variants of the coding gene SIRT1. It is planned to use the obtained results for further study of SIRT1 concentration in carriers of polymorphic genes in men with stage I and II hypertension, which may have diagnostic value.

The article introduces the modification of alkyd resin by epoxy resin to make epoxy alkyd ester. The study investigated the effects of reflux xylene content, the proportion of the constituents participating in the esterification reaction on the reaction processing and acidity index of the product. The infrared (IR) spectroscopy results confirmed the formation of ester bonds after the reaction. The paper also studied the mechanical properties of paint film based on the synthesized ester epoxy alkyd and compared them with the alkyd paint, the results showed that impact resistance and hardness of the study sample were higher than those of the alkyd paint sample. In addition, investigation, comparison of thermal stability of alkyd paint and epoxy alkyd paint film were also mentioned. Keywords: Epoxy alkyd esters, mechanical properties, thermal endurance, drying time.

Bismuth ferrite (BiFeO3) is a promising material for visible light response photocatalytic applications. In the present work, BiFeO3 particles were synthesized by a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)-assisted solid state reaction processing. The XRD pattern result indicated that the as-prepared particles are pure BiFeO3 crystalline phase. The microscopy observation demonstrated that the BiFeO3 particle size is from 100 to 200 nm, which is smaller than that of the BiFeO3 prepared without addition of PVA. The HRTEM showed that BiFeO3 particle is polycrystalline and contains many small crystal grains with different orientations. Furthermore, such nanosized and well-dispersed BiFeO3 particles exhibited a much higher photocatalytic activity than the prepared BiFeO3 without addition of PVA for the photodegradation of methyl orange contaminant under visible light irradiation.

Master alloys are used in the metals industry to control chemical composition and to help to achieve a particular microstructure or promote growth of desired phases. This study reports on making a Al3Nb containing aluminium (Al) - niobium (Nb) master alloy by solid-liquid reaction processing, where solid Nb particles are added to the liquid Al. Nb react with Al to form in-situ Al3Nb. The in-situ formed Al3Nb particles were facet and polygonal in shape. The three dimensional analysis revealed that the outer surface of the partially reacted Nb was covered with faceted Al3Nb particles. The different nature and morphologies of the in-situ phases that were produced were determined using SEM, EDX, XRD and extraction techniques. A mechanism for the observed microstructural difference is discussed.
