Semiconductor factories are significantly affected by the spray pattern of ceiling sprinkler heads owing to the large scale and complex mix of organic/exhaust ducts and multiple pipes. Therefore, sprinkler heads are installed in the spray disorder section of the lower barrier. However, more efficient installation measures are needed to mitigate the absence of detailed installation standards and interference with human and equipment transport lines. Currently, installation causes major confusion at construction sites and increases construction costs. The purpose of this research is to overcome these challenges by evaluating the operation status of sprinkler facilities in semiconductor factories, identify problems, and suggest more efficient installation measures. An installation plan that considers maintenance and fire extinguishing performance together is reviewed, and supported systematically with a relevant checklist.

ABSTRACT Objective: to analyze the facilities and difficulties in the use by nurses of the care flow for patients with chest pain. Methods: descriptive analytical study, with a qualitative approach, conducted with 17 nurses from an emergency care unit in a municipality of the State of Ceara, in 2018. Data collected through documents and interviews, analyzed in a descriptive manner, in absolute and relative frequencies and through content analysis thematic. Results: the use of assistance flow streamlines the process of transferring to referral units, reducing serious and lethal complications in the patient. It considers teamwork and communication as facilitating points in the care of patients with chest pain. The lack of permanent education, physical structure, equipment, transport delay and patient regulation as factors that hamper. Final considerations: investments in physical structure and equipment, in the reorganization of the care network and in permanent education to enable benefits to the service of excellence in health care.

“The last mile”, although it is the final but also extremely important and generating a considerable challenge element of the supply chain. As a result, for transport operators, transport on the last part of road, to the door of each end customer, is sometimes the most expensive and the most problematic. Therefore, without the implementation of new solutions and vehicles, it will not be possible to increase efficiency in completing tasks – i.e. the increase in the number of successfully completed deliveries required by the market, while limiting the cost and time of each single delivery. The article is based on the analysis of the latest scientific and primary commercial studies devoted to this issue, supplemented with own conclusions and observations of the author.

Abstract After the 2008-2009 crisis, the challenge of understanding the mechanisms and structure of the world economy has begun to generate different approaches of economic globalization. This article uses Global Value Chain framework to examine the impact of the crisis on sectorial employment for six selected industries from Romania (Basic Metals and Fabricated Metal, Electrical and Optical Equipment, Transport Equipment, Machinery, Textiles and Textile Products, Chemicals and Chemical Products). With more than 70% of Romanian exports, and almost 14% of the employees these were the main real transmission channels for the crisis, other than financial markets. The study found that dynamic of the employment in these sectors has a different pattern than the national one. Employment in the sectors which are parts of Global Value Chains was very sensitive to global crisis: the average number of employees dropped by 15% in 2009 (comparing to 10% - the percentage for the whole economy) but they didn’t follow the national recovery trend (in 2013 the total number of employees increased by more than 11% in Romania but the numbers stayed almost the same in the six selected industries). These findings suggest that Romania need to understand the specificity of these trends and to use the right policy tools in order to achieve economic growth and development through participation in Global Value Chains.

What is the nature and extent of export diversification in South Africa? The primary purpose of this paper is to seek empirical answers to this question. In an attempt to derive empirical measures of the extent of export diversification and the structural changes taking place in South Africa, this paper uses a sample of a group of 28 selected commodities for the period 1980-2012 for which the most recent data is available. The following methods were used to measure the extent of export diversification and the structural changes in export diversification: Commodity-specific cumulative export Experience function, the Commodity-specific traditional index (CSTI), variance of CSTI, concentration ratio and the aggregate specialisation index. The Commodity-Specific Cumulative Experience Function plots show that roughly, commodities such as scientific equipment, transport equipment, motor vehicles, furniture, machinery and electronic products were shifted to the right indicating that the commodities are non-traditional in nature whereas gold coal agricultural products and wood are traditional in nature. The CSTI rankings indicated that motor vehicle exports ranked first showing that motor vehicles are non-traditional exports. Findings of this paper corroborate findings of other scholars; we conclude that our results are complementary.
