La verdad de los monstruos

Partiendo de un relato autoetnográfico, el texto presenta un análisis del impacto de los cuerpos no normativos, sus causas y efectos principales, así como su relación con el imaginario social de la discapacidad. La pregunta central que articula el texto se interroga no sobre esos cuerpos sino sobre las razones del malestar social que aquellos activan. Para abordar esta cuestión se presentan los aportes de la Crip Theory del lado de la Queer Theory y los estudios críticos de la discapacidad. La fuerte crítica al capacitismo de la primera abre una mayor centralidad para el cuerpo y la comprensión de las diferencias corporales como fundamento político y comunitario. En continuidad el trabajo educativo va más allá de las cuestiones de identidad y orientación sexual abriéndose a un interés radical sobre el cuerpo en su conjunto y en consecuencia sobre la vulnerabilidad, caducidad y enfermedad.

Adquisición y desarrollo de aprendizajes de la lectura de ficción en niños y niñas en escuelas de Córdoba, Argentina

Las niñas y los niños leen ficción para aprender: la experiencia literaria infantil es el resultado de una investigación que analiza los aspectos que resultan relevantes en el desarrollo y adquisición de aprendizajes de la lectura de ficción en la infancia. Esta investigación se realizó en cuatro escuelas de la provincia de Córdoba (Argentina), y estuvo basada en la implementación de actividades lúdico-literarias a múltiples grupos de niños y niñas estudiantes, con el objetivo de analizar cómo estas potencian la lectura a través de un vínculo lúdico. En los resultados, presentaremos una serie de categorías de base empírica, obtenidas a partir del modelo de la grounded theory y denominadas: tiempo, sentidos, tramas sociales, trabajo subjetivo y la experiencia incrustada en la vida cotidiana.

Sobre el minimalismo anti-conflictivista y liberal: un análisis desde la perspectiva de la interest theory y del enfoque dinámico

El artículo describe dos enfoques minimalistas en materia de reconocimiento y protección de los derechos: las variantes anti-conflictivista y liberal. En ello, se reconstruyen sus fundamentos histórico-culturales y se destacan los principa­les elementos de su insostenibilidad teórica. La Bundle Theory y el desafío del carácter denso

The challenge of thick character consists in explaining the apparent fact that one object can be charactered in many ways. If we assume a trope bundle theory, we ought to answer in turn the two following questions: (P1) What are the requirements on a trope bundle theory if it is to adequately account for thick-character?; (P2) Is a trope bundle theory that meets those requirements preferable to rival theories? In order to address the above questions, the paper proceeds as follows. In the first section I cover two preliminary matters: I introduce the concept of thick-character and distinguish it from other related concepts. Then, I sketch several leading accounts of character and situate bundle theory among them. Also, I pick up (Q1) and argue that there are three requirements on a trope bundle theory if it is to adequately account for thick-character. Lastly, in the third section I pick up (Q2) and argue that the requirements spell trouble for trope bundle theory. This trouble, I argue, indicates that trope bundle theory—and hence bundle theory simpliciter—fails to better its chief rival, substance-attribute theory.

El iusnaturalismo frente a la ley de Hume: El caso de la New Natural Law Theory y sus críticos.

Resumen Según autores como Grisez y Finnis, la teoría clásica de la ley natural es inmune a la crítica contenida en el argumento de la ley de Hume, porque aquella teoría no aspira a derivar la ética de la metafísica, ni los enunciados prácticos de enunciados fácticos. La autonomía de la razón práctica, sostienen estos autores, permite una explicación de la teoría de la ley natural que no exige ningún recurso a la metafísica o a cualquier otro conocimiento teórico de la naturaleza. Esta tesis ha sido fuertemente discutida por autores vinculados al neo-tomismo que niegan la validez de la regla lógica expresada en la ley de Hume y, a la vez, afirman que la teoría tomista de la ley natural sólo se sostiene sobre sus fundamentos metafísicos. Esta discusión, sin embargo, es manifestativa de la equivocidad con que unos y otros han recibido la ley de Hume, y de la falta de análisis sobre sus supuestos y sobre el modo en que tales supuestos dialogan con la tradición clásica del iusnaturalismo.

<p>Many fields explore the origins of leadership qualities, with Galton’s (1874; 1869) ‘nature vs nurture’ contention being the central point of conjecture. Contemporarily, Galton’s (1874; 1869) ‘nature versus nurture’ contention has been re-imagined as ‘personality versus expertise’. Although contemporary literature attempts conflating terminology specific to either personality and behaviour, the phenomena remain distinct (Bass, 1990; Beebe, 2010; Burns, 1978; Cattell, 1943b; Kania & Richards, 2012; Stogdill, 1974; 1948). Moreover, Theory X and Theory Y conflate leaders who maintain willing fellowship and those who can compel others to follow. With regard to personality and expertise literature, as well as McGregor’s (2002) Theory X and Theory Y, Ladkin’s (2008) philosophy-based ‘leading beautifully’ paradigm is discussed. Following which, a new ‘leading beautifully’ model is proposed emphasising willing fellowship’s role in leadership, as well as leaders’ inherent ableness to perceive harmonious forms. It is proposed that all individuals are born potential leaders, psyches expressed through personality which predicts their situation-based leadership (Duke, 1986; Ladkin, 2008). Ultimately, leaders with greater mastery of leadership will become better leaders, but inherently all individuals may lead.</p>

The Optimal Capital Structure under the Conditions of Employment: An Application of Theory X and Theory Y

The traditional theories governing the capital structure decisions completely ignore the human side of the enterprise (e.g. attitude to work). The objective of this paper is to identify the optimal mix of Theory X and Theory Y type employees to be employed by an organization in order to maintain (i.e. unaffected by the type of employees at work) the optimal level of capital structure. The classification of an employee into Theory X and Theory of Y is made based on the organizational contribution conditional on motivation rather than merely considering the attitude to work. Internal motivation of an employee (i.e. inherently likes or dislikes) alone cannot be identified as the criterion of recognizing employees under Theory X and Theory of Y. Level of attainment of needs within the organization, psychological state of mind and cultural dimension (i.e. individualism-collectivism) of the individual attached to the organization are the main behavioural criteria that distinguish between Theory X-type and Theory Y-type employees. This paper shows that the optimal capital structure is unaffected by the employment mix at the optimal level of Theory X and Theory Y type employees employed by an organization. The firms’ managers must therefore consider the behavioral aspects of employees (e.g. attitude to risk) when making organizational decisions such as financial decisions. For example, mismatches in the capital structure can be explained by a careful analysis of behavioral aspects of employees. By making necessary adjustments to the current employment mix, the firm could eliminate the mismatches in the firm’s capital structure.
