Recent developments in the portability, flexibility, and affordability of augmented reality technology allow it to address some limitations of current medical training. This pilot study aims to determine whether augmented reality can enhance the detection and identification of subtle cues used to make accurate medical diagnoses. We randomly assigned five participants to a control group, where they received diagnostic training by reading a standard textbook, and an experimental group, where they received diagnostic training by a combination of reading a standard textbook and augmented reality-based training. All participants were tested with a tension pneumothorax scenario, where they listed symptoms and made a diagnosis. We recorded the time until a final diagnosis was made and categorized the diagnosis and symptoms as accurate or inaccurate. A two-tailed t-test was used to assess differences between groups. The experimental group correctly identified more symptoms than the control group (average 12 vs. 5). These results indicate the potential of AR-based training to enhance detection and identification of cues in medical diagnostics.

A diagnostic walkabout (DW) is an in-field diagnostic training program for professionals in the green industry (greenhouse, landscape, nursery, and turf businesses). DWs have been scheduled annually since 2002 and are easily replicable, fee-based programs that provide cost recovery. DWs also serve as a mentoring program for new Extension educators. Four generations of Extension Educators have participated. Recently, the annual program has been sponsored by state and regional trade associations. What began as an educational outreach program has become a bridge spanning Extension, trade associations, businesses, and generations of Extension educators.

The article is devoted to the post-Soviet period in the work of B.D. Parygin. The content and features of Parygin's works of this time are disclosed. In the post-Soviet period, Parygin published two large monographs, where Parygin integral conceptual system of Social Psychology as a science, which he had been developing throughout his life, and his structural dynamic approach as a method of socio-psychological analysis were comprehended and conceptualized at a new level. In the post-Soviet era Parygin focused on the dynamics of socio-psychological states of the individual and society, topical in the concrete historical aspect; the mental state of the personality, which determines the actual possibilities for realizing the potential of the personality through a system of socio-psychological barriers. An important place in the work of Parygin in this period takes the problem of the links between theory and practice. It is shown that in the system of Social Psychology by Parygin, theory and practice act as parts of a single whole. An example of such unity in the developments by Parygin in the post-Soviet period was his authorised model of post-diagnostic training of partnership, presented in three editions of the Practicum on socio-psychological training edited by Parygin.

Bovine coccidiosis is caused by protozoa of the genus Eimeria. These protozoa mainly affect young animals, causing a decrease in production and consequent economic losses. The routine diagnosis is made through morphological observation of the oocysts, which has several limitations. The objective of the present study was to develop a qPCR technique for the diagnose of Eimeria spp. in cattle. For this purpose, the 18S rRNA region of the DNA of these parasites was selected, since it is a region with low variability among the species. The qPCR was developed using the SYBR Green, resulting in a PCR with a high sensitivity, able to amplify samples containing only one oocyst of Eimeria spp. of bovines. The feasibility of using qPCR in the diagnosis of the Eimeria Genus is demonstrated in this study, once this technique shows to be less laborious and needs less skills for diagnostic training when compared to the technique conventionally used in theroutine (micromorphometry).

Aim: This article refers to the European School of Oncology Clinical Training Centers (CTCs) program, which is a granted Fellowships program dedicated to young oncologists in training. Materials & methods: A total of 74 fellowships were offered by several CTCs during the last 7 years. Candidates were enrolled for 3–6 months of training rotations as fellows or observers in more than 30 training programs in well known Cancer Centers around Europe. Fellowships were covering medical, surgical, radiation and pediatric oncology specialties, laboratory diagnostic training and experimental, translational and clinical research. Fellows originated from Europe, Latin America and Mediterranean Africa. Results: Analysis of the questionnaire assessment showed that 95.5% of the fellows evaluated CTC programs with an ‘excellent’ or ‘very good’ score, while 100% declare that they had reached their objectives. Conclusion: The European School of Oncology CTC program designed for an additional practical education abroad meets the needs of young oncologists.

To optimize the learning process of working methods and the study of diagnostic equipment, it is advisable to use virtual simulators that simulate the process. The created virtual model vKAD-400 reproduces almost all the actions performed by the master diagnostician in determining the technical condition of a diesel engine. In the process of modeling using the editor, the algorithm of the "Diesel-Diagnostics" program was developed using the method of digitizing existing waveforms. Using the computer program "Diesel-Diagnostics" will reduce the cost of training students and technical personnel.

Background: Point of Care Ultrasound (PoCUS) is an ultrasound examination performed by the clinician to answer a question or guide a procedure. Few Internal Medicine (IM) programs teach a formal PoCUS curriculum.  The objective of this study is to conduct a systematic needs assessment for the introduction of a PoCUS curriculum to an IM program. Methods: A survey was distributed to all IM staff and residents.  Participants rated their comfort, training, and use of PoCUS.   Descriptive statistics were calculated using SPSS software. Results: Participants self-identified as “neutral” on comfort for using PoCUS for diagnostic applications and many lacked formal diagnostic training (9.7% in residents vs 32% in staff, χ2=10.5, P=0.002). Despite this inexperience, 26.9% of residents use PoCUS for diagnostic applications. Conclusion: A third of residents are using PoCUS despite a lack in formal training, suggesting that PoCUS should be introduced to the IM curriculum

The paper describes methodological approaches to the development of corporate system of advanced training for teachers in the context of implementation of the professional standard for teachers as a basis for competitive growth of educational institution. The key stage in this process is to identify areas of concern in the competencies of the teaching staff. The paper presents a system developed for these purposes which consists of the following four elements: self-testing for teachers; professional training; psychoeducational diagnostic training; training on creating a corporate roadmap for raising professional skills in teachers. The paper addresses the issues related to roadmap development basing on the foresight methodology. Finally, it provides an analysis of various forms of advanced training programs for teachers used in 46 regional centers for advanced training in every federal region of the Russian Federation. Supported by the Moscow Educational Department. The research work “Development and realization of manage- ment project “Organization and implementation of teacher professional training based on the requirements of Teacher professional standard”
