Pelatihan Zoom Meetings dan Streaming Youtube untuk Pengembangan Komunitas Ngaji Online

Purpose: This community service aims to improve skills and provide knowledge for majelis taklim members about using Zoom meeting for the virtual event and broadcasting virtual events through Youtube streaming service in Malaka Jaya District, Jakarta City. Method: This community service applied an interactive method with survey location, finding community problems with interview methods and training methods to provide knowledge and improve the majelis taklim community of Malaka Jaya District, Jakarta City. Results: Organizing online meetings with Zoom meetings can provide solutions to majelis taklim community during the Covid-19 pandemic, where the implementation of studies can still be held without face-to-face. It supports government movements to prevent the transmission of the Covid-19 virus. In addition, broadcasting a study event by streaming on a Youtube channel can have a broad impact on the general public. Conclusion: Training on Zoom meetings and Youtube streaming can develop a wider online islamic learning community.

Transmission of BPSK in UWB using MATLAB

Ultra Wide Band (UWB) is a promising technology for sensor networks, broadband wireless data accessing, positioning and location finding applications. This project outlines the development and validation of a single transmitter and receiver system across the multipath channel. We have designed and tested a UWB simulator using MATLAB to operate for a continuous wave. After a brief survey BPSK was chosen to be the modulation technique. This paper outlines the basic design and simulation of a BPSK signal through the UWB. The system parameters and the simulation runs are shown and described along with the BER calculations. The time domain and frequency domain study is shown and analyzed of a IR-UWB channel with the transmitter, channel and the receiver blocks. This model compares and analyses the bit efficiency of a channel, for a BPSK modulation technique for various bit powers. The example simulation uses rudimental inputs to visualize the response of the channel.

Investigating and evaluation of the indicators affecting development of child-friendly cultural complexes with an approach to reconciliation with historical spaces (case study: Shiraz)

The present study aims to investigate the indicators of a child-friendly city and to introduce strategies for designing child-friendly spaces and centers with an approach to reconciliation with historical spaces, in order to advance the city toward a child-friendly city and promote its goals. The present study is descriptive-analytical in terms of nature, applied in terms of purpose, and combined (quantitative and qualitative) in terms of method. This study was conducted in a historical context in Shiraz for children aged 4 to 12 years. In order for location finding and selecting the desired site, the factors were extracted based on theoretical foundations, and according to SWOT table, the weaknesses, strengths, opportunities, and threats of the three sites were analyzed. Finally, using AHP tool, site number 1 was considered as the most suitable site for designing the complex. Then, using quantitative method, the information and factors were analyzed according to the theoretical framework including spatial, physical, and functional factors affecting improvement of quality of the environment, including 21 indicators in the form of 5-point Likert scale from very high to very low using SPSS software. According to the information obtained about the spatial factor of “shape and size of the space” indicator, the physical factor of “color” index and the physical factor of “fantasy” index had the greatest impact on designing children’s cultural center with an approach to reconciliation with Shiraz’s historical spaces. In the end, according to investigations of the theoretical foundations and theories of theorists and the obtained results, architectural solutions and ideas affecting the designing of complexes were presented in the form of solutions for using light, color, geometry and proportions, nature, and shape and size of the space.

Amazon’s HQ2 Site Selection Criteria: The New ‘Gold Standard’ in FDI Decision-Making

In 2017–2018, Seattle-based Tech behemoth Amazon executed a highly publicised location-finding process for a $5 billion investment project, dubbed ‘HQ2’. Owing to the combination of high investment volume and the company’s unique public exposure, the HQ2 process is on course to becoming a basic yardstick for future foreign direct investment (FDI) projects all over the world. This article compiles the company’s previously unpublished site selection criteria and develops an evidence-based system of investment decision arguments which is employed to test the currently dominant approaches in location decision theory—behavioural, neoclassical, and institutional. Our results identify gaps vis-à-vis this emerging ‘Gold Standard’ and we propose the addition of a fourth, project-oriented approach to theory to fill the detected shortcomings. Furthermore, this system equips policymakers with a tool to evaluate their investment attraction strategies based on the decision criteria extracted from the HQ2 process.

Charging station location finding using Estimated Distance to Empty Prediction Algorithm

Sometimes, Solar Electric Vehicles (SEV) drain out of power and stops in the middle of the journey. To overcome this problem, SEV is upgraded with on-board and off-board charging facilities. This paper proposes a prediction algorithm that considers solar power and battery power to find out the distance the vehicle can travel, thus helping the vehicle driver to stop at a charging station to charge the vehicle. The proposed algorithm is simulated for various driving cycles and results are presented and discussed.

Identification of Markers in Challenging Conditions for People with Visual Impairment Using Convolutional Neural Network

People with visual impairment face a lot of difficulties in their daily activities. Several researches have been conducted to find smart solutions using mobile devices to help people with visual impairment perform tasks. This paper focuses on using assistive technology to help people with visual impairment in indoor navigation using markers. The essential steps of a typical navigation system are identifying the current location, finding the shortest path to the destination, and navigating safely to the destination using navigation feedback. In this research, the authors proposed a system to help people with visual impairment in indoor navigation using markers. In this system, the authors have re-defined the identification step to a classification problem and used convolutional neural networks to identify markers. The main contributions of this paper are: (1) A system to help people with visual impairment in indoor navigation using markers. (2) Comparing QR codes with Aruco markers to prove that Aruco markers work better. (3) Convolutional neural network has been implemented and simplified to detect the candidate markers in challenging conditions and improve response time. (4) Comparing the proposed model with another model to prove that it gives better accuracy for training and testing.
