In this reflective article, the writers study Religiosity, sports and the ethics of mercy (hesed). This study departs from the author's observation of one of John Ortberg’s books. Ortberg explained in his work, among others that in the area of spirituality we often play like we want to score in basketball or baseball, with the hope of scoring as much as possible, whether quantitatively or qualitatively. Based on this thought, the writers observe the text of Philippians 2: 6-8, that Jesus is the only servant who can be emulated in all things by giving up the totality of His life for the sake of humanity. The uniqueness of Jesus as a servant of God has been reflected in the story of His life, namely He was born in a cage of animals and served indefinitely. And at the end of His life, He was willing to die in the most despicable state of being crucified. The story of Jesus is the story of God descending to earth who took on human appearance. The method used is a qualitative research method, and the authors examine the Philippian text to analyze the Bible's view of Religiosity, sport and the ethics of mercy (hesed). The reflective study process carried out by these authors is to use a variety of reliable library and electronic sources to support the authors's analysis. The results of this study, which were intended from the beginning as reflective narratives rather than theoretical analysis, are to believe that Jesus came down to earth as a manifestation of God's love from Heaven, and that should be an example for us all as His disciples.

The purpose of this study is to identify different sources used for seeking cultural heritage information. The paper aims to study the most vital sources used to seek cultural heritage information and examine the significant difference between sources and demographic variables. The study is conducted among youth of the Tangkhul tribe from Manipur state, India. The study used a structured questionnaire to collect data. Data screening, examining validity and reliability were conducted before analysis. SPSS version 20 was used for data analysis. An independent samples t-test and one-way ANOVA test were carried out to check the significant differences. The study reveals that elders are the most prominent sources used for seeking cultural heritage information. The findings also expose that there is a significant difference between gender and Internet sources (p-value=0.040), similarly between marital status and electronic sources (p-value=0.028), likewise between education qualification and electronic sources (p-value=0.005), also between education qualification and audiovisual source (p-value=0.042) and between the current place of residence and audiovisual sources (p-value=0.049). The findings revealed that youth used different sources for seeking cultural heritage information and the most desired sources are elders (mean score=4.02), followed by the Internet (mean score=3.48) and social media (mean score=3.46). The authors reflect the study’s unique in conducting the research design. It acknowledged the gaps in the literature and the study proposed to fill the existing holes. The study also identified the most sought source used for seeking cultural heritage information, thereby adding research value.

<p class="Abstract"><span lang="EN-US">This paper presents a study on the significance of source side harmonics and their effects on transformers.  Source side harmonics are typically present in power electronic sources which are commonly used in renewable applications. The continued outcome of source side harmonics is observed on the hysteresis curve of a transformer. Single-phase transformers are used in the proposed study to determine the effect of harmonics on magnetization and demagnetization cycles using an electronic operational amplifier-based integrator circuit. A technique is also presented for effectively storing and plotting the hysteresis curve from the measured data. After the hysteresis curve is obtained, it is compared with standard data and a conclusion is obtained from the results about the presence of harmonics in the source. The hysteresis curve is thus found without removing the transformer from operation. The study also proposes a modified hysteresis model for the transformer considering the effect of source harmonics. The proposed study is an effective tool for easy measurement and detection of harmonics. The <em>MATLAB/Simulink</em> based simulations with suitable experiments validate the proposed study.<em></em></span></p>

Spirituality must be possessed by Christian religious education (CRE) teachers, considering that the teaching he does aims to pave the way for learners to spirituality through the formation of perfect character, morals, and social. Therefore, this article seeks to identify the spiritual values that a CRE teacher should have and how the spiritual values are internalized in his personal life. This article is a conceptual framework based on a theoretical review. To develop concepts relevant to the topic, the author reviews literature from books and scientific journals, research reports, scientific essays, thesis and dissertations, encyclopedias, and other print and electronic sources. Based on a review of various sources, including spirituality according to Christianity, the author explains the essential spiritual values that a CRE teacher must possess. The author groups them into two dimensions, namely the personal dimension and the relational dimension.

Cyber libraries face many challenges when it comes to access. These challenges can lead to cyber libraries failing in following the guidelines for the values and ethics of the LIS professional. Some authors have argued that cyber libraries are the future of libraries. They argue that patrons want information immediately at their fingertips. The fact that library budgets are shrinking and electronic sources can be cheaper cause many libraries to lean more towards the idea of cyber libraries. However, while digital libraries do have their advantages, they are not perfect. We live in a time where librarians have their feet in two worlds; a world of technology and a world of paper.

A Review of: Pinto, M., Sales, D., & Fernández-Pascual, R. (2019). Gender perspective on information literacy: An interdisciplinary and multidimensional analysis within higher education settings. Library & Information Science Research, 41(4), 100979. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.lisr.2019.100979 Abstract Objective – To identify gender differences that present in 26 information literacy (IL) learning competencies using a multidimensional subjective–objective approach. Design – Two quantitative survey questionnaires, administered online. Setting – Five Spanish public universities in 2014. Subjects – Third- and fourth-year students in eight social science degree programs including information science, audiovisual communication, journalism, psychology, primary education, pedagogy, social work, and tourism. Methods – Subjects were recruited using a stratified sampling approach. Two survey instruments were distributed online. The IL-HUMASS instrument uses Likert scales to measure students’ “belief-in-importance” (BI) of various IL competencies relating to searching, evaluation, processing, and communication–dissemination, as well as their self-efficacy (SE) regarding these competencies. The EVALCI-KN instrument measures students’ actual knowledge (KN) of the same IL competencies using closed answer options. The data were analyzed using descriptive and bivariate statistics and confirmatory factor analyses. Main Results – The total number of valid surveys collected was 1,575 (sampling ratio of 10.39% of eligible students). No significant differences were found between female and male students’ BI, SE, or KN in the categories of searching and evaluation. Statistically significant differences between genders were found relating to SE and knowledge of information processing (with men having higher scores), and to knowledge of communication–dissemination (with women having a higher score). Overall, students’ KN scores were higher than their SE scores. Statistically significant differences were found among male students in all categories and dimensions except in SE of evaluation and BI of communication–dissemination and among female students except in BI of processing. Information science and pedagogy were the highest scoring degree programs in different dimensions and categories; tourism and social work were the lowest. Male students’ awareness of the importance of using print sources and assessing the quality of information could be improved; female students’ awareness of the importance of knowing information source typologies, academic codes of ethics, and intellectual property laws could be improved. The authors also state that male students’ KN should be increased in the areas of schematizing and abstracting information, handling statistical programs, and knowing the laws on information use and intellectual property, and they point to the need for instructional support to improve all students’ SE across all IL categories. Conclusion – Gender differences were found in various IL competencies as measured by the three scales (BI, SE, KN). Male students were found to believe assessment skills to be most important and to believe themselves more prepared in search skills; however, their actual knowledge was highest in the communication category. In comparison, female students prioritized communication skills and believed themselves more prepared in search skills, with their actual knowledge highest in the search and communication categories. Among both genders, weaknesses were found relating to BI in four competencies (use informal electronic sources, know information search strategies, schematize–abstract information, recognize text structure), to SE in six competencies (use printed sources, know information search strategies, assess quality of information, schematize–abstract information, recognize text structure, write a document), and to KN in five competencies (use printed sources, use electronic sources, use informal electronic sources, determine whether information is updated, and know the code of ethics in the academic field). The students’ mean score was higher for KN than for SE in searching, evaluation, and communication–dissemination. The authors recommend instruction or awareness-raising sessions to help students acquire IL competencies as well as to improve their self-esteem in these areas, with the design of these sessions incorporating the findings on gender differences. They also recommend a review of existing syllabi to help “incorporate the gender perspective into the classroom” (p. 8).
