Abstract The present study aimed to know the psychometric parameters of the SCL-90 hostility scale. For this, two studies were traced; In Study 1, 209 students, mean age 16 years (SD = 1.29), who responded to the Scale of Hostility and a sociodemographic questionnaire. The exploratory factorial analysis indicated a unidimensional structure, whose Cronbach’s alpha was.71. In Study 2, we sought to find additional evidence of validity and reliability counting with 212 students with a mean age of 16 years (SD = 1.19). The confirmatory factorial analysis tested the unifactorial structure and pointed to good adjustment indexes; good internal consistency and composite reliability were also observed. In general, the Scale of Hostility provided evidence of satisfactory validity and reliability.

This research is based on the researcher's concern to the students who have not been able to adapt themselves in the school which is seen from the adjustment with the school rules, teachers, peers and facilities and infrastructure in the school. As students move from elementary school to junior high school they find it difficult to adapt. Data on student conformity is obtained through observation and interview. This study aims to describe students' self-adjustment in school. The sample in this study amounted to 210 students. This research is a quantitative descriptive research. The results of this study indicate that students' self adjustment is generally categorized as good. Furthermore, based on the adjustment indicator with good rules, the indicators of adjustment with the teacher is good, adjustment indicators with peers are good and adjustment indicators based on facilities and infrastructure are also good.

This article develops a relationship between the reduction of density in lightened gypsum and the addition of expanded and/or extruded polystyrene waste from the construction sector and their mechanical behavior. The equations determined in this study allow us to know the flexural and compressive strengths of a lightened gypsum/plaster compound once its density is known. The results show that there is an exponential relationship between the density of the compound and its strength. The methodology followed included a compilation of the results obtained in previous research works on lightweight gypsums, analyzing the relationship between density and mechanical strength and comparing them with the equations developed in this research. The results obtained by previous researchers have a good adjustment with the proposed models, and only perlite compounds present greater deviations in the compressive strength analysis. Also, a dimensionless lightening coefficient is defined which can help to determine the best application for a lightweight gypsum compound, comparing it with an ideal lightweight gypsum.

The marital relationship and retirement experiences of a community resident sample of retired couples from working class backgrounds has been investigated. Data was obtained from a structured clinical interview conducted in the respondents' homes. Although showing evidence of social disengagement, these couples maintained a meaningful intramarital relationship and were generally satisfied with their current life situation. The findings suggest that continuity of life patterns is an important determinant of successful adjustment to retirement. Criteria for the determination of good adjustment need to consider distinguishing characteristics of different population subgroups.
