Aiming at the rollover risk of heavy-duty vehicles, an adaptive rollover prediction and control algorithm based on identification of multiple road adhesion coefficients is proposed, and the control effect has been verified by hardware-in-the-loop experiments. Based on the establishment of a 3 DOFs (Degree of freedom) vehicle dynamic model, the roll angle of the vehicle dynamic model is estimated in real time by using Kalman filter algorithm. In order to ensure the real-time operation of anti-rollover control strategy for multi-body dynamic heavy vehicle model, a sliding mode variable structure controller for anti-rollover of vehicles is designed to determine the optimal yaw moment. Specially, the recognition algorithm of road surface type is integrated into the control rollover algorithm. When the control system with road recognition algorithm recognizes whether the vehicle is in danger of rollover, it can not only adjust the state of the vehicle, but also shorten the time to reach the stable area of the vehicle's lateral load transfer rate by about 2 s. In order to further improve its adaptability and control accuracy, a Hardware-in-loop test platform for three-axis heavy-duty vehicles is built to verify the proposed anti-rollover control strategy. The results prove that the proposed control strategy can accurately predict the rollover risk and control the rollover in time.

Truck rollover is a problem that seriously endangers the safety of human life. Under special conditions, when the driver takes a sharp turn, the truck is most prone to rollover. Speed seriously affects the driving stability of the truck in a sharp turn, but the calculation of the safe speed is not accurate enough at present. The aim of this paper is to develop a more accurate safe speed calculation method to avoid the truck rollover in a sharp turn. Firstly, the calculation formula of the rollover threshold was derived based on a theoretical model, then, the simulation tests were carried out. We selected a 4-axle truck with a total weight of 30t as the subject, simulated the dynamic process of the truck rollover in a sharp turn with TruckSim, evaluated the dynamic rollover risk levels of the truck during this process, and verified the accuracy of the simulation results by results of the theoretical model. Finally, by analyzing the steering principle of the vehicle, the safe speed threshold and the limit speed threshold of the truck in a sharp turn were calculated according to the lateral acceleration corresponding to the rollover risk levels. The results show that no matter what the loading condition of the truck is, when the rollover margin is reduced to about 0.15g, the truck just reaches the risk level of critical rollover; the result provides an accurate algorithm for speed thresholds of the truck when turning radius is less than 250 m. The research provides a calculation method for safe speed of trucks from a dynamic perspective. The research results can be applied to the speed warning system of trucks, which can make drivers better control the rollover risk of trucks in the process of driving and improve driving safety.

In this paper, the stylized features of incomplete and asymmetric information in the interbank market leading to banks’ precautionary behaviors are introduced. Based on banks’ stylized behavioral rules, the influencing mechanism of information diffusion on interbank risk contagion is analyzed, and how the existence of information diffusion and banks’ information-obtaining ability influence the interbank risk contagion is verified through computational simulations. The results show that information diffusion can significantly accelerate the process of and magnify the extent and probability of interbank risk contagion, and improving banks’ information-obtaining ability could lower the speed and extent of the interbank risk contagion. This paper also finds and explains some special phenomena of rollover risk contagion when information diffusion exists: the saltatory risk contagion, the circular liquidity trap, and the risk discovery of information diffusion.

Abstract Anti-rollover is an important performance for automated heavy trucks, which has been seldomly considered in the motion planning. This paper proposes an anti-rollover motion planning based on model predictive control (MPC) for automated heavy trucks. Taking the coupling of roll motion of sprung mass of the front axle with that of the drive axle into consideration, a seven degrees of freedom rollover dynamics model is established, and an evaluation index that can accurately describe the rollover motion is derived for heavy trucks. Then, a model predictive control strategy is designed for motion planning that combines the rollover dynamics, the artificial potential field for obstacle avoidance, and the trajectory tracking. In addition, the optimal path is calculated that considers collision avoidance, anti-rollover and vehicle dynamic constraints. Furthermore, three typical scenarios are applied to validate the performance of the proposed motion planning algorithm. The obtained results demonstrate that the proposed anti-rollover motion planning can effectively avoid collisions and reduce the rollover risk simultaneously when confronting edge scenarios.
