PurposeIranian Research Institute for Information Science and Technology (Irandoc) undertaken activities to improve and expand Academic and Research Libraries (ARLs). However, it is necessary to identify demands, challenges and solutions for Irandoc to improve and extend activities of these libraries.Design/methodology/approachIn this study, documents of Science & Technology Information System (STIS) commission analyzed in order to investigate the most important steps taken by Irandoc. The results of this part of research used to conduct interviews with administrators and experts in four groups including thirteen ARL managers, four middle and upper level managers at Irandoc, two deputies in Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT), and four experts in this field. Therefore, the present study was qualitative with content analysis approach. The credibility of the research findings promoted by a peer debriefing and member checking methods.FindingsThe results showed that strengthening of STIS commission, reinforced Irandoc's authoritative duties in MSRT, establishing a network of ARLs, promoting Irandoc's relationship with ARLs, institutional mapping among organizations in the field of libraries and information, updating of Irandoc's policies and statutes regarding ARLs, completing library statistics and information, standardizing, monitoring and evaluating ARLs, developing Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programs, and future study of ARLs were among the most important operational and executive strategies for improving and expanding ARLs' activities.Originality/valueOrganizational structure of the relationship among MSRT, Irandoc, ARLs and the types of services and resources ARLs provide in six levels, as well as conceptual model of Irandoc's position in this field presented.

       The development of Tourism based on local economic is very important, and in many regions with unique physical characteristics that are rich in natural resources which can be further developed to be a popular tourist destination and able to stimulate the local economy such as together The purpose of this research is to find the development of tourism based on local economic in Pujon Kidul village and to find any problems and obstacles in local economic development of local government including the well-being of the community. The main problem that may be a deterrent to development is human resources from the community, because most people in the community There is still relatively little participation in community activities, including the interest in development. The research method used in this study is a qualitative research method, including secondary data and data collection from interviews. There is a descriptive description. Tourism development is based on the local economy, with an emphasis on management in two principles, agriculture and animal husbandry, from the results of this study it can be concluded that an important step in the development of local economy-based tourism is territorial diagnosis and institutional mapping, the process of growing sensitivity, and creating a local forum / regionally. The implementation of these three steps can be said to have been successfully implemented in Pujon Kidul village.Therefore, the study concludes that local economic development and the identification of obstacles to self-government, including what can be resolved quickly, make tourism development more efficient and lead to the fact that local people Can make money To the community for a better quality of life and well-being.

This article explores how mapping is currently being used in social services research as well as practice, and discusses the potential for mapping to be a useful tool for resource consultants in the field. This article will review different mapping techniques, including community mapping, eco-mapping, journey mapping and institutional mapping, and discuss their purpose within research and professional practice. Using examples from the Inclusive Early Childhood Service System project, we describe the application of mapping in social service work, and how resource consultants can use these techniques in their own practice.

This paper aims to analyze the institutional framework in Pakistan for disaster management and specific disaster management policies. This paper is also designed to develop an in-depth understanding of the key challenges that the communities of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan face in the wake of constantly reoccurring disasters. House-hold survey, observations and key informant interviews were conducted to analyze the preparedness, both at community and organizational levels. The findings point out that disaster management policies and mechanisms regarding preparedness are not implemented by both federal and state authorities at local level. Further, the local communities of AJK, Pakistan are susceptible to different kind of hazards related to disasters. The paper reveals that available federal/state mechanism of disasters do not meet the needs of community. All of the stakeholders including federal government institutions, state government institutions and local communities are not prepared. Thus, communities are continuously getting affected by natural disasters. The paper suggests that there is a dire need to improve the coordination between state and national agencies. Further, there is need to enhance community preparedness specifically in AJK, Pakistan to upgrade community's defensive and awareness mechanism to safeguard citizens' lives in response to seismic emergency.

The article presents to an assessment of the institutional complexity level of the industry markets on the example of seven Russian metallurgical industries. The author specifies the system of institutional interaction in the industry markets. The research methodology bases on the construction of an industry markets institutional map, which is a system of two projections: the complexity level of the industry market institutions and the complexity level of industrial market institutional environment. The result of the paper is the empirical institutional mapping for the seven metallurgical industries in the fact and with the adjustment for stability. The institutional map visualizes high complexity level in all metallurgical industries, but this fact is due to various reasons. Our research can be interesting for updating of the enterprises strategy, and for the choice of an industrial policy.
