A Generalization of the Importance of Vertices for an Undirected Weighted Graph

Establishing a node importance ranking is a problem that has attracted the attention of many researchers in recent decades. For unweighted networks where the edges do not have any attached weight, many proposals have been presented, considering local or global information of the networks. On the contrary, it occurs in undirected edge-weighted networks, where the proposals to address this problem have been more scarce. In this paper, a ranking method of node importance for undirected and edge-weighted is provided, generalizing the measure of line importance (DIL) based on the centrality degree proposed by Opsahl. The experimentation was done on five real networks and the results illustrate the benefits of our proposal.

Modeling both Context- and Speaker-Sensitive Dependence for Emotion Detection in Multi-speaker Conversations

Recently, emotion detection in conversations becomes a hot research topic in the Natural Language Processing community. In this paper, we focus on emotion detection in multi-speaker conversations instead of traditional two-speaker conversations in existing studies. Different from non-conversation text, emotion detection in conversation text has one specific challenge in modeling the context-sensitive dependence. Besides, emotion detection in multi-speaker conversations endorses another specific challenge in modeling the speaker-sensitive dependence. To address above two challenges, we propose a conversational graph-based convolutional neural network. On the one hand, our approach represents each utterance and each speaker as a node. On the other hand, the context-sensitive dependence is represented by an undirected edge between two utterances nodes from the same conversation and the speaker-sensitive dependence is represented by an undirected edge between an utterance node and its speaker node. In this way, the entire conversational corpus can be symbolized as a large heterogeneous graph and the emotion detection task can be recast as a classification problem of the utterance nodes in the graph. The experimental results on a multi-modal and multi-speaker conversation corpus demonstrate the great effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Nonnormal Edge-Transitive Cubic Cayley Graphs of Dihedral Groups

A Cayley graph of a finite group is called normal edge transitive if its automorphism group has a subgroup which both normalizes and acts transitively on edges. In this paper we determine all cubic, connected, and undirected edge-transitive Cayley graphs of dihedral groups, which are not normal edge transitive. This is a partial answer to the question of Praeger (1999).

Generalization Bounds for Certain Class of Ranking Algorithm

The quality of ranking determines the success or failure of information retrieval and the goal of ranking is to learn a real-valued ranking function that induces a ranking or ordering over an instance space. We focus on a ranking setting which uses truth function to label each pair of instances and the ranking preferences are given randomly from some distributions on the set of possible undirected edge sets of a graph. The contribution of this paper is the given generalization bounds for such ranking algorithm via strong and weak stability. Such stabilities have lower demand than uniform stability and fit for more real applications.
