Analisis SWOT Terhadap Layanan Kardiovaskular Eka Hospital Pekanbaru

This study aimed to determine strategy for business unit based on quantitative SWOT analysis. This study was conducted in Eka Hospital Pekanbaru with the subject of research was Cardiovascular Services of Eka Hospital Pekanbaru. This study uses a qualitative analysis with internal data (primary data) and external data (secondary data). Sample of this study are individuals in hospital management. Determination of strategic factors in internal and external factors, ranking and weighting of each factor in the IFAS table and in the EFAS table was done through a Group Group Discussion (FGD). X value is obtained from the difference of total multiplication rating and weight of all factors in strength factors minus total multiplication rating and weight of all factors in the weakness factors. X value is 0.69 (possitive). Y value is obtained from the difference of total multiplication rating and weight of all factors in the ofactors minus total multiplication rating and weight of all factors in the weakness factors. Y value is 0.30, also possitive. Projection of X and Y in the SWOT quadrant are in the first quadrant. It means that progressive strategy (growth oriented strategy) is the recommended strategy because Eka Hospital Pekanbaru has strengths and good opportunities. Functional strategies are formulated based on progressive strategy as the recommendations strategy for business unit.

Therapeutic Implications of COVID-19 for the Interventional Cardiologist

Although COVID-19 is viewed primarily as a respiratory disease, cardiovascular risk factors and disease are prevalent among infected patients and are associated with worse outcomes. In addition, among multiple extra-pulmonary manifestations, there has been an increasing recognition of specific cardiovascular complications of COVID-19. Despite this, in the initial stages of the pandemic there was evidence of a reduction in patients presenting to acute cardiovascular services. In this masterclass review, with the aid of 2 exemplar cases, we will focus on the important therapeutic implications of COVID-19 for interventional cardiologists. We summarize the existing evidence base regarding the varied cardiovascular presentations seen in COVID-19 positive patients and the prognostic importance and potential mechanisms of acute myocardial injury in this setting. Importantly, through the use of a systematic review of the literature, we focus our discussion on the observed higher rates of coronary thrombus burden in patients with COVID-19 and acute coronary syndromes.

Cardiac imaging procedures and the COVID-19 pandemic: recommendations of the European Society of Cardiovascular Radiology (ESCR)

The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2019 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic currently constitutes a significant burden on worldwide health care systems, with important implications on many levels, including radiology departments. Given the established fundamental role of cardiovascular imaging in modern healthcare, and the specific value of cardiopulmonary radiology in COVID-19 patients, departmental organisation and imaging programs need to be restructured during the pandemic in order to provide access to modern cardiovascular services to both infected and non-infected patients while ensuring safety for healthcare professionals. The uninterrupted availability of cardiovascular radiology services remains, particularly during the current pandemic outbreak, crucial for the initial evaluation and further follow-up of patients with suspected or known cardiovascular diseases in order to avoid unnecessary complications. Suspected or established COVID-19 patients may also have concomitant cardiovascular symptoms and require further imaging investigations. This statement by the European Society of Cardiovascular Radiology (ESCR) provides information on measures for safety of healthcare professionals and recommendations for cardiovascular imaging during the pandemic in both non-infected and COVID-19 patients.

Break the chain of COVID-19 transmission: Cardiologist Perspective

Indonesia is currently suffering through a pandemic outbreak of severe respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) known as Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Every day this infection raises double, health community is fighting COVID-19 with their armamentarium and policy. Indonesian Heart Association (IHA) has already issued the statement about cardiovascular services during the outbreak of COVID-19. The policy is rescheduling non urgent outpatient visits as necessary, social distancing strategy in outpatient clinic and using personal protective equipment (PPE) in outpatient clinic or during the cardiac examination (echocardiography, cardiac CT, electrophysiology and invasive cardiology). Most of international recommendations have recommended social distancing and reschedule non urgent visits. This document gives a general information about the prevention of COVID-19 in cardiology department.
