Centros de Reabilitação ABSTRACTThe objective of this study was to trace the profile of people with pressure injuries treated at a State Rehabilitation Centerin the city of Goiânia and to evaluate the association between the variables of the Functional Independence Measure andBraden scale. It is a cross-sectional, descriptive study with a quantitative approach. Fifty-four people were interviewed, ofwhich there was a predominance of males, young adult age, low educational level and low family income. The most relevantdiagnoses were spindle trauma, followed by stroke, with tetraplegia being the most dominant sequel. According to theFunctional Independence Measure scale, there was greater emphasis on total motor domain dependence, and accordingto the Braden scale most were at high risk of developing Pro-Pressure Injury, a positive and moderate correlation wasconfirmed between these scales, being that functional dependence may be one of the predictors of the risk of developingPro-Pressure Injury. We can conclude that recognizing characteristics of the assisted population favors a better planningof preventive actions and that expanding the early diagnosis of the risk of developing pressure injury contributes to theinterdisciplinary work, guaranteeing a better quality of life for the patient. Keywords: Pressure Injury. In this paper, a comparative approach was pursued to show differences but also remarkable similarities between the application of analogy in popular science texts and in specialized science texts. Setting out from an initial hypothesis that popular texts use forms of analogy that lend themselves to direct interpretation and high accessibility, we try to show that actual specialized science discourse could benefi t from simpler and more versatile analogy. For this end, the current state of the art in analogy research was evaluated and a corpus of academic texts was queried. Further, a number of approaches and fi ndings could be contributed as a direct outcome of the international Analogy – Copy – Representation workshop held at Bielefeld University in November 2014, which was co-organized by the author. In consequence, a more comprehensive picture of analogy in cognition, language and scientifi c discourse is sketched in this contribution. Especially the domain-dependence of the use of analogies showed surprising results.

While developing a Web-based travel planning system, the necessity to implement a mobile component has been identified. Such a conception is aimed at a comprehensive support of a workflow that enables users to plan a trip in advance using the Web-based application, but to modify the original plan wherever and whenever they want while carrying out the journey. Within both components, Point-of-Interest (POI) plays a significant role to determine a tour. It is one claim of this chapter that the relevance of POI is dependent on the perspective of a user. As a consequence, the originally used POI database was replaced by a POI ontology which promised to support the workflow more comprehensively. This conceptual change raised several questions concerning the domain dependence of the POI ontology on the one side and universal aspects of the ontology on the other.
