Heat Transfer Analysis For Oscillating Flow of Magnetized Fluid By Using The Modified Prabhakar-Like Fractional Derivatives

In this analysis, an unsteady and incompressible flow of magnetized fluid in presence of heat transfer has been presented with fractional simulations. The oscillating plate with periodically variation has induced the flow. The model is formulated in terms of partial differential equations (PDE’s). The traditional PDEs cannot analyze and examine the physical behavior of flow parameters with memory effects. On this end, the solution approach is followed with the efficient mathematical fractional technique namely Prabhakar fractional derivative. The non-dimensional leading equations are transformed into the fractional model and then solved with the help of the Laplace transformation scheme. The effects and behavior of significant physical and fractional parameters are analyzed graphically and numerically. As a result, we have concluded that the temperature and velocity profiles decrease with the enhancement of fractional parameters. Furthermore, with time both (temperature and velocity fields)decreasing away from the plate and asymptotically increases along y-direction, which also satisfies the corresponding conditions.

Caputo Fractional MHD Casson Fluid Flow Over an Oscillating Plate with Thermal Radiation

The effect of the thermal radiation on the MHD Casson fluid along with the fractional derivative in an oscillating vertical plate is elucidated. More exactly, the Caputo fractional model is utilized in developing the governing equations. Besides, the influence of the buoyancy force due to the temperature gradient has also been considered. The derived fractional partial differential equations are converted into ordinary differential equations by using the Laplace transform technique and then are solved for analytical solutions via the characteristic method. The inversion of the Laplace transformation is obtained through the numerical approach of Zakian. The effects of various physical parameters on the velocity and temperature profiles, Nusselt number, and skin friction have been analyzed and depicted in graphs and tables. The distribution of the velocity and temperature either in viscous or Casson fluid do enhance by the fractional parameter.

A new approach for the generalized fractional Casson fluid model with Newtonian heating described by the modified Riemann-Liouville fractional operator

This research is about the transfer of heat of a generalized fractional Casson fluid on an unsteady boundary layer which is passing through an infinite oscillating plate, in vertical direction combined with the Newtonian heating. The results are obtained by using modified Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative. The present fluid model, starts with the governing equations which are then converted to a system of partial differential equations(linear) by using some suitable non-dimensional variables. Using the method of integral balance and the Laplace transform technique, an analytical solution is obtained. The velocity and temperature expressions are derived and the effects of modelling parameters re shown in tables and graphs to validate the obtained theoretical results.

Flexible Flaps Inspired by Avian Feathers Can Enhance Aerodynamic Robustness in low Reynolds Number Airfoils

Unlike rigid rotors of drones, bird wings are composed of flexible feathers that can passively deform while achieving remarkable aerodynamic robustness in response to wind gusts. In this study, we conduct an experimental study on the effects of the flexible flaps inspired by the covert of bird wings on aerodynamic characteristics of fixed-wings in disturbances. Through force measurements and flow visualization in a low-speed wind tunnel, it is found that the flexible flaps can suppress the large-scale vortex shedding and hence reduce the fluctuations of aerodynamic forces in a disturbed flow behind an oscillating plate. Our results demonstrate that the stiffness of the flaps strongly affects the aerodynamic performance, and the force fluctuations are observed to be reduced when the deformation synchronizes with the strong vortex generation. The results point out that the simple attachment of the flexible flaps on the upper surface of the wing is an effective method, providing a novel biomimetic design to improve the aerodynamic robustness of small-scale drones with fixed-wings operating in unpredictable aerial environments.

Particles bed morphology under an oscillating stiff and flexible plates

We analyse the different morphologies induced by an oscillating plate above an erodible bed. We present some data describing how the shape and the stiffness of the plate affects the main features of the generated heap. We investigate several configurations with different geometries, frequencies and the amplitudes. Some preliminary results are available, in which the role of the flexibility of the plate is taken in account. Unlike the rigid plate in which a proper oscillation induces the formation of one heap, the morphology of the bed is now characterized by more than one heap due to a different pressure profile induced by a flexible plate.
