This systematic review provides an up-to-date analysis of existing literature about Virtual Reality (VR) and prejudice. We review 41 studies that use VR technology to study or reduce prejudice towards stigmatized minorities, whose outcomes give preliminary evidence of the potential of VR as a method to improve intergroup relations. Nevertheless, the results suggest that experiencing negative affects while being embodied in an outgroup member avatar can increase prejudice. We discuss the outcome based on the chosen intergroup perspective (i.e., minority or majority) and target minority groups. An analysis of mediators and moderators is also carried out. We then identify and address the most pressing theoretical and methodical issues concerning VR as a method to reduce prejudice.

This paper examines household purchases of peanuts and tree nuts in the United States using the Nielsen Homescan Panel for calendar year 2015. Households located in different regions and from different races and ethnicities along with seasonality were important factors affecting the propensities to purchase and actual quantities purchased. The demand for pecans, almonds, and walnuts was sensitive to price changes. The reverse was true regarding the demands for cashews, macadamia nuts, pistachios, mixed nuts, and peanuts. All nuts were identified as necessities. Findings of this research provide insights for stakeholders in the nut industry, in terms of target marketing, product positioning, and pricing strategies. Moreover, we contribute to the literature by providing a micro-perspective investigation concerning the demand for nut products in the United States. In addition, we provide a more up-to-date analysis concerning factors affecting not only the likelihood of purchasing nuts but also the quantities purchased.

This article attempts to analyze the current economic development of North - Eastern India (NER) in the light of solving problems related to separatism in this region. This problem is extremely relevant, because it is impossible to achieve the economic breakthrough and prosperity of the region without the final eradication of separatism and terrorism in NER. The used sources are mainly up-to-date analysis of Indian ministries and departments (Ministry of development of NER, NEC / North Eastern Council and some others), as well as Internet materials from Indian and international sources (Deutsche Welle).

Background: Animal-assisted interventions, in concrete dog-assisted intervention, have been introduced in prisons to reduce recidivism as well as to improve the well-being of prisoners. Therefore, the aim of the present systematic review is to provide an up-to-date analysis of the research on the effects of dog-based animal-assisted therapy in prison population. Methods: An electronic search of the literature was performed, and 20 articles were included. The PRISMA guideline methodology was employed. Results: Included studies involved a total of 1577 participants. The vast majority of protocols included activities related with dog training, dog caring, or activities, which included vocational or educational components. Duration of dog-based therapies ranged between 60 and 120 min, with the frequency being between 1 and 3 days/week. Statistically significant improvements in prisoners were observed in 13 studies. Conclusions: Dog-based animal-assisted therapy may improve anxiety, stress, recidivism, and other social variables in male or female inmates.
