It is known that the main causes of decubital ulcers (bedsores) are ischemia and neurotrophic soft tissue pathology caused by chronic local compression, nutritional disorders, urinary and fecal incontinence, metabolic disorders. Significant risk factors are the presence of diabetes mellitus, a condition after suffering a cerebral circulation disorder, and other neurological pathology, in patients with insufficient or inadequate care. In addition to decompression of problem areas, periodic changes in the spatial position of the body in combination with antiseptic treatment in complex therapy should take into account the nutritional state, circulation, microcirculation and oxygenation in tissues, skin moisture (excessive humidity increases the risk), neurodegeneration, the stage of process, local diaper rash and maceration. The aim of the work. To optimize and improve the results of treatment of stage I-II bedsores with diaper rash, maceration, exematisation and epidermis desquamation by local therapy using clinoptilolite-based powders and to substantiate the prospects of using this method in clinical practice. The main study group over 3-year period consisted of the results of complex treatment of 28 patients, age 72-87 years: 17 women and 11 men with I-II stages of bedsores with diaper rash, maceration, local exematisation and desquamation of the epidermis and formation of superficial ulcer. The control sample consisted of the results of the treatment of 32 patients with decubital ulcers I and II stages, who were treated inpatient in the palliative care departament of the municipal non-profit enterprise "4th City Clinical Hospital" in Lviv with the use of antiseptic remediation, use of streptocid and metronidazole containing powder according to generally accepted recommendations, clinical strategies, and local protocols.Patients in the main group performed sequential repair of the wound surface with a 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide, 20% chlorhexidine bigluconate solution and sprinkling extratemporally prepared powder containing fucorcin (17 patients) or brilliant green (11 other observations). Patients in the control group were sequentially sanitized with a 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide, 1% polyvidone iodine solution, and an extratemporally prepared powder, which, in addition to the adsorbent, contained powdered white streptocide and powdery metronidasole. During daily dressings repeated repairs were carried out – washing with antiseptics of maceration sites, drying with sterile gauze wipes and filling with powder. Patients with type II diabetes have insulin resistance and deviations from laboratory parameters. The criterion for the effectiveness of care and treatment was to reduce exudation with marginal epithelialization, and (or) crust formation. In the patients of the main group, the rate of healing of wounds and macerated areas was 4.8±0.12%, in the control group – 3.2±0.25% (χ2=28.62, p<0,01). In patients of the main group with cytological examination on 3, 5 and 12 days after the initial debridement in the smears of maceration areas consistently decreased the leukocytes, appeared macrophages and fibroblasts. In the control group at 5 days after primary debridement, segmental leukocytes were prevailed, cytological signs of regeneration were less pronounced (degree of exposure, χ2=31.12, significance level, p<0.01). On day 15, we observed the correction of sites of bedsores I and II stages with maceration and local epidermis desquamation in all patients of the main group and 60.71% of the of the control group. It is stated that clinoptilolite actively adsorbs of the wound secretions and bacterial toxins from the maceration surface and superficial I and II stages decubital ulcers, releases into the wound pre-adsorbed antiseptics, which are part of the proposed powders and have a pronounced antibacterial development, when is optimal for reparative processes and the healing environment that promotes healing of the superfitial pressure ulcers.Key words: pressure ulcers, stage I-II bedsores, diaper rash with maceration sites, exematisation and desquamation, clinoptilolite-containing powder, complex treatment

Purpose To prepare a new type of composite for selective laser sintering 3D printing, the surface of Al2O3 nanoparticles was modified by the coupling agent (3-methacryloxypropyl)-trimethoxy silane (KH570) before coated with thermoplastic epoxy resin (TER). Design/methodology/approach Laser diffraction confirmed that the size distribution of prepared powder materials in this study ranged between 20 to 80 µm. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) showed that the loading of organic matter was below 5 per cent. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy indicated that the silane coupling agent molecule bound strongly with the alumina. X-ray diffraction confirmed the prepared powder materials to be α-alumina. Through the angle of repose (AOR) test, the AOR = 18.435º was obtained, suggesting the high flowability of prepared powder materials. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) observation demonstrated that the shape of the prepared powder materials was sphere-like grains. Findings Molding properties of prepared powder materials were studied on the basis of particle size distribution, particle size, sphericity, crystal structure and the reaction mode of the TER. This prepared powder materials can be well applied to the production of epoxy resin-coated Al2O3 composite parts with high precision and good mechanical performance. Originality/value This composite can be well applied to the production of epoxy resin-coated Al2O3 composite parts with high precision and good mechanical performance.

In this work, we characterize tricalcium phosphate powders Ca9(HPO4)(PO4)5(OH) resulting from a reaction between calcium hydroxide and orthophosphoric acid at room temperature, without pH adjustment and in absence of ionic impurities. The prepared powder has an atomic ratio Ca/P of 1.512 ± 0.005. The real density is 2.68 ± 0.02 g/cm3 and the specific surface area is 80 ± 02 m2 /g. During compression, the microstructure of Cadeficient apatite powder with the presence of HPO4 groups seems to support the cohesion between particles. The transmission ratio is 90%, the transfer ratio is 41.8 and the ratio of the die-wall friction is 0.22. These results show that apatitic tricalcium powder gives a good aptitude to the compaction which leads to a good tensile strength (0.79 MPa). The heat treatment of the prepared powder shows the precise temperature for the formation of pyrophosphate, β-TCP and α-TCPa phases. The purity and aptitude to compaction of the prepared powders are very promising for pharmaceutical and medical applications.

In this paper, europium doped zinc oxide nanoparticles were prepared by Zn (CH3COO)2, Eu (NO3)5·6H20,NaOH,PEG2000 and Citric acid using hydrothermal method. The prepared powder was used for photocatalytic degradation, in which the influence ofreaction temperature, reaction time, illumination conditions as well as the doping ratio on the effect of photocatalytic oxidation were throughly investigated. Analytical methods, such as XRD, SEM and EDS were utilized in this study for characterization of the prepared powder. Results showed that Europium-doped zinc oxide with a 3% doping ratio reached optimal photocatalytic oxidation effect when the hydrothermal temperature was 160°C and hydrothermal time was 6 hours. By utilizing the prepared powder under optimal conditions, the decolorization rate of pharmaceutical wastewater reached 38.8% after treatment of 365nm UV irraditation for 150min, and the degradation rate of COD reached 57.5%.

This paper reports the synthesis and magnetic properties of single phase FeTiO3nanoparticles. Ilmenite nanoparticles are prepared through coprecipitation method. As prepared powder is amorphous in nature. When annealed inair and inert atmosphere, we get almost single phase pure crystalline FeTiO3. Our results show that FeTiO3in nanocrystalline form behaves like a weak ferromagnet below ~50 K while it is known that ilmenite is an antiferromagnet below ~55 K.

CuInSe2thin films were prepared under vacuum by conventional evaporation method .The films were deposited at different film thickness (188-577nm) .XRD of as-prepared powder indicated that CuInSe2has tetragonal poly crystalline structure with(122) preferred orientation, while XRD of the as-deposited films were of a mixed amorphous- microcrystalline nature. The variation of the calculated lattice parameters at different film thickness were showed. The electrical properties of CuInSe2thin films were studied at different film thickness. The dark conductivity of the films was measured as a function of temperature. Two regions were obtained corresponding to two activation energy. The activation energy decreases with increasing the film thickness.

Nano-hydroxyapatite colloid was prepared by the method of precipitation. when the colloid was dried and sintered,it always agglomerated. The CTAB and SDS were added to disperse it . The effects of surfactants on the size and phase of HA crystals were studied by TEM and XRD .The results showed that Nanometer columnar HA powders of 40nm long and 20nm wide with narrow distribution of particle size and dispersion performance can be prepared when we added CTAB aqueous solution into HA colloid,CTAB concentration is 0.3%, mol ratio between CTAB and HA is 3:10. As SDS aqueous solution was added into HA colloid, the best process is that SDS concentration is 0.6%, mol ratio between SDS and HA is 1:1. The prepared powder with wide distribution of particle size is 30-60nm long and 10-30nm wide.
