ELABORACIÓN DEL PLAN DE NEGOCIOS PARA LOS FONDOS DE ALCACHOFA (Cynara scolymus) EN ALMIBAR

Se identificó un segmento de mercado que valora a la alcachofa, por lo cual se elaboró el plan de negocios, que nos permitió evaluar las posibilidades de éxito de la idea de negocio. Se determinó que el segmento de mercado para este producto, se encuentra en los estratos socioeconómicos A y B de las provincias de Lima y Callao, que representa 7 551 370 habitantes, en el año 2005, el mercado disponible calificado 1 056 587 habitantes, que se encuentran en los distritos más representativos: Santiago de Surco, Lima, San Borja, San Miguel, Miraflores, Pueblo Libre, Jesús María, La Molina, San Isidro, La Victoria y Lince. El mercado penetrado representará el 10%, teniendo una demanda insatisfecha de 8,5 TM de producto final al año. La decisión del mix de mercadeo es el siguiente: Producto, fondos de alcachofa en almíbar en frascos de 250 g. de capacidad, precio S/. 3,50 por frasco, plaza exclusiva en los supermercados E. Wong y Santa Isabel, promoción con Impulsadoras en los puntos de venta.

Antioxidant and anti-hemolytic activities of different parts (leaves, stems and heart) of the artichoke (Cynara scolymus L) cooked with different methods in west Algeria

This study was undertaken to estimate antioxidant and anti-hemolytic activi-ties of different parts (leaves, stem and heart) of the artichoke (Cynara scoly-mus L) cooked with different methods. The leaves, stems and hearts were used either raw or cooked according to four cooking methods: evaporated, boiled, oven-baked and sautéed. On the different extracts prepared from artichoke parts (raw or cooked), total polyphenols and flavonoids contents, anti-oxidant and anti-hemolytic activities were evaluated. According to the four cooking methods, the polyphenol and flavonoids contents of baked leaves were the highest. Polyphenol contents were higher in boiled stems while flavonoids contents were elevated in evaporated stems. Evaporated and boiled hearts exhibited the best polyphenols and flavonoids contents. The three parts of the artichoke had a scavenger effect against the DPPH radical and baked leaves showed the higher activity compared to raw leaves. The evaporated, sautéed and boiled cooking modes indicated reduced H2O2 entrapment activity by 41%, 42% and 37%, respectively compared to raw artichoke. In addition, cooked hearts had reduced H2O2 trapping activity compared to the raw heart. Compared to raw products, NO trapping activity increased in sautéed leaves and hearts while this activity was smaller in boiled leaves, stems and hearts. Boiled and sautéed leaves increased the percentage of inhibition of hemolysis of human erythrocyte by 68% and 65%, respectively, compared to raw leaves. The present results demonstrated that common cooking methods applied to artichoke have increased the nutrition-al quality of this vegetable and that effect depends upon the vegetable part.

Biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles using Cynara scolymus, Lavandula angustifolia, Alkanna Tinctoria and its antimicrobial activities—A comparative study

Nanotechnology is a promising field of science and involves use of nanoparticle with size ranging between 1 nm–100 nm. The phenomenal size properties enable nanoparticles to anchor a prominent place in various biomedical applications. Silver is known for its antimicrobial nature. This study elucidates the qualitative phytochemical properties of three plant extracts, its biogenic synthesis of silver nanoparticles and their antimicrobial activity. Green Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were synthesized from 1mM Silver Nitrate (AgNO3) solution using leaf extracts of Cynara scolymus (Artichoke), Alkanna tinctoria (Alkanet), and Lavandula angustifolia (Lavender) respectively. The synthesized silver nanoparticles were characterized visually, via UV–vis spectrophotometer and X-ray Diffraction (XRD). The biogenic particles were tested against pathogenic bacterial strains (Staphylococcus aureus, and Escherichia coli) and Plant pathogenic fungal strains (Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus niger). The formation of AgNPs with size <100 nm was ensured by UV vis spectrophotometer and XRD. Antibacterial activity of lavender mediated AgNP was highly significant, followed by artichoke mediated AgNP and finally, alkanet AgNP were effective. However, in contrast, Artichoke mediated AgNP showed significant activity against plant fungal strains, followed by Alkanet AgNP, and finally by Lavender mediated AgNPs. We concluded that the three plants have versatile biochemical molecules responsible for broad spectrum of AgNP against bacterial and fungal strains. Studies on combined use of AgNPs with other antimicrobial agents may solve the problem of toxicity and possible risk of drug resistance.

Хроматографическое поведение монокофеоилхинных и дикофеоилхинных кислот в условиях ОФ ВЭЖХ: зависимость от строения

Определена зависимость удерживания изомерных хлорогеновых кислот (монокофеоилхинных и дикофеоилхинных) от положения ацилирования хинной кислоты в условиях обращенно-фазовой ВЭЖХ. В работе использованы экстракты листьев Ilex paraguariensis (чай мате) и соцветий Cynara scolymus (бутоны артишока) с известным составом хлорогеновых кислот. Показано, что на картах разделения дикофеоилхинные кислоты (diCQAs) имеют линии тренда с характеристическим параметром a относительного удерживания по уравнению lgk(i)=a·lgk(кофейная кислота) + b. Параметр а для diCQAs примерно вдвое больше, чем для монокофеолихинных кислот (CQAs). По величине параметра а возможно обнаружение изомеров diCQAs с дополнительным использованием УФ-спектра, характерного только среди остальных экстрактивных веществ фенольной природы, без масс-спектрометрического детектирования. Исключением является 1,3-дикофеоилхинная кислота (1,3diCQA), у которой наблюдается внутримолекулярная копигментация за счет стэкинг взаимодействий ароматических колец, находящихся в близко расположенных аксиальных положениях в одной из конформаций молекулы. Такая структура найдена при оптимизации геометрии методом ММ2 в программе Chem3D. Вследствие возникновения стэкинга сорбция 1,3DiCQA одновременно двумя радикалами кофейной кислоты затруднена, поэтому параметр а принимает существенно меньшее значение (1.674). Внутримолекулярный стэкинг подтвержден изменением электронного спектра поглощения 1,3diCQA по сравнению со спектрами остальных хлорогеновых кислот. В работе показано, что в случае дикофеоилхинных кислот возможны инверсии удерживания в ряду 3.4diCQA-3,5diCQA-1.5diCQA кислот при изменении состава подвижной фазы. При этом дифференциация между этими изомерами и 4,5diCQA возможна сопоставлением параметра а уравнения линии тренда относительного удерживания этих кислот и монокофеоилхинных кислот в предположении отсутствия существенных внутримолекулярных структурных эффектов, влияющих на удерживание diCQA. При исследовании зависимости удерживания diCQAs от рН подвижных фаз установлено, что возможна дифференциация изомеров положения кислот по двум параметрам: по кислотности карбоксильной группы хинной кислоты (более высокой кислотностью обладают изомеры, включающие ацилирование по положению 1), по степени падения времени удерживания, которая оказывается наивысшей для изомеров, содержащих ацильную группу в положении 5.

Ecofriendly/Rapid Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles Using Extract of Waste Parts of Artichoke (Cynara scolymus L.) and Evaluation of their Cytotoxic and Antibacterial Activities

Recycling wastes and providing their use in useful fields attract attention every day. In our study, with the extract prepared from the parts of the Cynara scolymus L. (artichoke) plant that is not suitable for human consumption, silver nanoparticles were easily synthesized in an ec-friendly, energy-free way. Characterization of the obtained nanoparticles was done with a UV-visible spectrophotometer (UV-Vis.), fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction diffractometer (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and zeta potential analysis data. In these data, it was determined that AgNPs have a maximum absorbance at 458.8 nm wavelength, a crystal nanosize of 28.78 nm, and a spherical appearance. The zeta potential of (-) 16.9 mV indicates that silver nanoparticles exhibit a stable structure. Particles show antimicrobial effects on pathogenic species at concentrations of 0.03-0.25 μg/ml, and it was determined by using the minimum inhibition concentration (MIC) microdilution method. By examining their cytotoxic effects on U118, CaCo-2, and Skov-3 cancer cell lines and healthy HDF cell lines by the MTT method, concentrations of inhibitive effects on survival were determined.
