Abstract A side-by-side moored offloading configuration has relatively stronger hydrodynamic and mechanical interactions compared to a tandem moored offloading configuration. For instance, due to the narrow gap between FLNG and LNG Carrier, the trapped water resonance induces higher relative motions between the FLNG and LNG Carrier. In addition, due to the partial filling conditions during the offloading operations, the sloshing loads excite ship motions which induce higher loading on the offloading arms. In this research, a time domain sloshing-ship motion coupling analysis module has been developed for analyzing interactions of the side-by-side moored multiple floating platforms. This paper presents the numerical modeling, the validation analysis results, and the sloshing-ship motion coupled effects on the side-by-side offloading analysis.

AbstractFucosylated glycans are involved in the molecular mechanisms that underpin neuronal development, learning and memory. The capacity to study the fucose-α(1–2)-glycan residues noninvasively in the human brain, is integral to understanding their function and deregulation. Five fucose crosspeaks were assigned to fucosylated glycans using invivo two-dimensional magnetic resonance Correlated SpectroscopY (2D L-COSY) of the brain. Recent improvements encompassed on the 3T Prisma (Siemens, Erlangen) with a 64-channel head and neck coil have allowed two new assignments. These are Fuc VI (F2:4.44, F1:1.37 ppm) and Fuc VII (F2: 4.29, F1:1.36 ppm). The Fuc VI crosspeak, close to the water resonance, is resolved due to decreased T1 noise. Fuc VII crosspeak, located between Fuc I and III, is available for inspection due to increased spectral resolution. Spectra recorded from 33 healthy men and women showed a maximum variation of up to 0.02 ppm in chemical shifts for all crosspeaks.

The water ligand observed via a gradient spectroscopy type experiment with 19F detection was applied to selectively detect fluorinated compounds with affinity to the target proteins. The 19F signals of bound and unbound compounds were observed as opposite phases, which was advantageous to distinguish the binding state. The proposed NMR method was optimized based on the 19F{1H} saturation transfer difference pulse sequence, and various inversion pulses for the water resonance were evaluated with the aim of high sensitivity.
