Abstract The article provides an analysis of the public forms of inheriting the memory of General Rudolf Maister at the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Slovenia and in the Slovenian Armed Forces. It investigates how Maister's military career is reflected in the iconography of publicly exposed works of art in a physical form, the naming of objects and recognitions, as well as in ceremonial rituals. Based on the evaluation of the most common forms of public remembrance, it provides a conclusion as to how tangible this collective remembrance actually is, which seeks to maintain and promote a favourable attitude towards this Slovenian military strategic leader owing to whom an important part of Slovenian national territory today forms a part of the Republic of Slovenia. Key words General Rudolf Maister, military strategic leader, Slovenian military history, heroism, public representations.

A strategic leader in an organization plays a crucial role in a dynamic business environment. The paper examines an individual's general characteristics as an effective strategic leader with the support of a comprehensive secondary literature review. Data has been secured from three significant databases, i-e, google scholar, SSCI, and Scopus. Secondary research results indicated that being visionary, the strength to have the strategic and creative mindset and the knowledge to develop and maintain the right social capital, and the inclination to have moral integrity are some of the indispensable elements of effective strategic leaders. Thus, leader succession training and development models must inculcate those abilities, competencies, and characteristics into their top talents to magnify an organization's future performance. Yet, research has been exclusively studying from individual aspects composed of literature studies of business organizations, both public and profit organizations. Therefore, strategic leadership encompassing top management and board of directors' success factors in terms of a team's abilities, knowledge, and skills is still an untapped domain.

Interfaces are of growing importance for theorizing and testing the influence of strategic leaders on firm behavior and actions. But despite their relevance and ubiquity, the lack of a commonly accepted definition and unifying framework has hindered researchers’ ability to take stock, synthesize, and systematize extant knowledge. We first develop an encompassing definition and organizing framework to review 122 prior studies across three decades. We then chart promising directions for future research around three concepts central to the framework and review: (1) Why do interfaces occur? (2) What happens at these interfaces? and (3) What are the impacts of interfaces? Together, the encompassing definition, framework, review, and specific directions for future research provide the much needed platform to agglutinate research and advance strategic leader interfaces as the next frontier of strategic leadership research.
