Recently, the endovascular approach in abdominal aorta aneurysm (AAA) management has become a more popular and alternative approach to open surgery, mainly when is achieved to proper patients that is more comfortable for both patient and surgeon. In this case, our patient developed Type III endoleak complication after 2 years of the Endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) procedure and was treated by open surgery and combined graft technique.

Phyto-derived products as matrix metalloproteinases inhibitors in cardiovascular diseases

: Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are enzymes that present a metallic element in their structure. These enzymes are ubiquitously distributed and function as extracellular matrix (ECM) remodelers. MMPs play a broad role in cardiovascular biology regulating processes such as cell adhesion and function, cellular communication and differentiation, integration of mechanical force and force transmission, tissue remodeling, modulation of damaged-tissue structural integrity, cellular survival or apoptosis and regulation of inflammation-related cytokines and growth factors. MMPs inhibition and downregulation is correlated with minimization of cardiac damage, i.e., Chinese herbal medicine has shown to stabilize abdominal aorta aneurysm due to its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and MMP-2 and 9 inhibitory properties. Thus phyto-derived products rise as promising sources for novel therapies focusing on MMPs inhibition and downregulation to treat or prevent cardiovascular disorders.

Probabilistic Neural Network and Genetic Algorithm for Abdominal Aorta Aneurysm Identification

An abdominal aorta aneurysm (AAA) can cause severe threat if it burst. Doctors can detect the presence of AAA by using abdominal ultrasound. As the treatment depends on the location and size, accuracy plays a significant role. To prevent devastating clinical outcome in this proposed work, new approaches and algorithms were used for generating the infallible result. After processing the AAA image by using notch filter, exudate based segmentation is performed and the selected features gets classified by using probabilistic neural network classifier. By using PNN classifier, accuracy and sensitivity gets enhanced in this work. The achieved accuracy is 98% and sensitivity 97.5%. While analogizing the proposed work with other existing work. It’s very facile to perform and expected target gets achieved
