Social Interaction: Communicative Approach

The article focuses on the study of requirements for communication in the social sphere and justification of their specificity in comparison with other types of verbal interaction. The relevance of the stated problem is determined by the significant influence of social communications on society and the dependence of public safety on the effectiveness of social interaction. The study aimed at identifying the types of violations of commonly known maxims in the social sphere and substantiating the specificity of requirements for social communicative interaction. Two main methods were used in the research: projecting and modeling. The well-known communication maxims were divided into two groups. The first group contains those that define the requirements for organizing the content of the message and are aimed at ensuring the fullness of its perception by the addressees. The second group includes maxims, which establish requirements for the moral climate of communication and the implementation of the principle of politeness. The data of interviews given by representatives of governmental bodies to journalists of certain TV channels and blogs, as well as the analysis of Internet news videos revealed the types of violations of the well-known maxims of communication in the social domain. The main ones are: ignoring the maxims of the second group in interviews and non-compliance with the maxims of the first group in news programs. It has been proved that the well-known maxims of communication need to be revised taking into account the conditions of social contact discourse. The specificity of maxims in social communicative interaction was substantiated.

Facial Expression Recognition Based on Texture Features

Facial expressions are a form of non-verbal communication, they appear as changes on the surface of the facial skin according to one's inner emotional states, aims, or social communications. Classification of these expressions is a normal process for humans, but it is a challenging task for machines.Lately, interest in facial expression recognition has grown, and many systems have been developed to classify expressions from facial images. Any expression recognition system is comprised of three steps. The first one is face acquisition, then feature extraction, and finally classification. The classification accuracy depends primarily on the feature extraction step. Therefore, in this research we study many texture feature extraction descriptors and compare their results under the same preprocessing circumstances; moreover, we propose two improvements for one of these descriptors, which give better results than the original one. We validate the results on two commonly used databases for expression recognition using Matlab programming language, wishing all of that to be an interesting point for researchers in this field.

CHALLENGES, OPPORTUNITIES AND PROSPECTS OF UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES IN THE GLOBAL SCENARIO OF UNCERTAINTY: UNILIBNSD EDITOR'S VIEW

The global scenario of uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic demonstrated how quickly university libraries can respond to changes in the educational and research ecosystems of their institutions. The new (6th) issue of the journal “University Library at a New Stage of Social Communications Development. Conference Proceedings” is exactly about this. The papers discuss new behaviours / work of library staff based on digital communication technologies, our projects, our goals, our hopes, as well as our doubts and concerns for the maximum contribution of libraries to the development of university communities in a constantly changing world. Full-length articles about the most interesting world library and information practices and ideas were selected, reviewed and recommended by members of the international editorial board of the similarly-named conference (UniLibNSD-2021), which was held in a hybrid format on October 7-8, 2021 in Dnipro, Ukraine. The title “University Library at a New Stage of Social Communications Development. Conference Proceedings” has been accepted in Scopus (2021).

LIBRARY COMMUNICATION IN THE SOCIO-CULTURAL SPACE OF MODERN SOCIETY

Objective. To represent library communication in the socio-cultural space of modern society. Methods. The methodology of the article was based on a set of general and special methods of scientific knowledge. Results. We substantiated the essence and content of the term "library communication" as a pre-planned activity in the socio-cultural space of modern society. There are presented the structural content elements of library communication:, goal, objective, essence, driving mechanism, purpose, implementation, basic tools, main communication product, indifferent components, sources, environment and specifics of functioning, levels and result. We established that library practice today is constantly enriched with new phenomena and concepts to denote them, for which library science as a science should formulate appropriate terms, provide theoretical and methodological justification. Conclusions. It is argued that in the context of the theory of social communications, the institutionalization of the term "library communication" as a separate type of professional communication and the driving force of the transformation of the library business is relevant.

Theoretical aspects of digitalization in social management

The paper discusses the issues of digitalization of modern society. Within the framework of the system analysis of the subject of research, the author highlights the theoretical aspects of digitalization in social management, examines the historical background for digitalization; social management is represented through the categories of selfgovernment, organizational order, goal-setting, subject-subject interactions, management tools. In the system of social communications, digital technologies and artificial intelligence are presented by the author as a new socio-digital reality that transforms the environment of interaction. The author’s review of the main stages and markers of the development of digitalization made it possible to update the list of positive aspects in social management, as well as problems caused by the digitalization process.

Everyday life information means while reflecting in the individual consciousness on postmodern reality background

The purpose of the article is a detailed analysis of information means of reflecting objective reality,in an individual consciousness in a postmodern society. The methodology is based on the use of activity,systemic, socio-cultural approaches, as well as methods of comparative and terminological analysis. Thescientific novelty of work is that the means of reflecting everyday reality in the individual consciousness areinvestigated. Mechanisms of influence of information technologies of mass communication on social identity,lifestyle, and culture, in general, are analyzed. It has been proved that social and cultural phenomena such aspost-folklore, ritualization, mythology, enigmatic narratives play an important role in the process of awarenessof objective reality. It is justified that the consciousness of the individual is in a total space created by masscommunication, and therefore the perception of everyday reality occurs under the influence of informationtechnologies. A significant role in modern society is played by the processes of demassification of everydaylife, which generate pluralism and a variety of thoughts; entertainment and humor are the main factors inthe manipulation of individual and social consciousness. Conclusions. Postmodern reality determines theemergence and development of such phenomena of everyday life, which turn into an important means ofinfluencing the social, and especially the individual consciousness. Everyday life through means of masscommunication is reflected as an image of reality in the individual’s brain, is realized and reproduced as asubjective reality. Scientific exploration in this area will always be relevant since everyday life in modernpostmodern society is an important specific source of society development, the meeting space of philosophy,psychology, social communications, and culture. Promotion of the specialty "Information, library and archival affairs" in the german Wikipedia.

d the importance of its promotion abroad, in particular in the German-speaking environment through thecreation of a page on Wikipedia. The methodology of the research to achieve the goal of the article andperform the tasks were used such methods as theoretical analysis and generalization of data from scientificand methodological literature, the method of collecting social information, methods of mathematical statistics.Comparative, typological, retrospective methods were used for full-fledged research and disclosure of the topic.The scientific novelty lies in the expansion of knowledge and popularization of the specialty «Information,library and archival affairs». An information model of the communication process in the Wikipedia system isproposed; the advantages of using information and communication technologies and marketing actions in thepopularization of services on the Internet are proved. It is emphasized that the process of creating an articlerequires some effort and knowledge, but with the help of constant edits and additions of users, the informationwill remain relevant. Conclusions. Creating an article in German will provide an opportunity to establishinternational cooperation in the educational environment and promote the specialty «Information, Library andArchival Affairs», which is taught at the Department of Social Communications and Information Activities ofthe National University «Lviv Polytechnic» in German-speaking countries. The article recommends correctingalready written and adding new articles to promote and qualitatively fill Wikipedia, increasing the number ofits readers both among the Ukrainian population and abroad. Return Migration: The Second Major Outbreak due to COVID-19 in India

COVID-19 pandemic made a severe impact on the developing countries. According to the “World Economic Situation and Prospects” report by the United Nations, as of mid-2021, this global crisis has clearly worsened poverty and within-country inequality, and it is expected that it will leave long-lasting scars on labor markets while reversing progress on poverty and income inequality in many economies. The context in India, in this sense, is complex. The article corresponds to the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on internal migration. The rapid spread of the pandemic shook nations across the world, bringing about a broad lockdown that cinched down on versatility, business exercises, and social communications. In India, the pandemic encouraged an extreme emergency of portability, with transient workers in many significant urban areas looking to get back to the places where they were initially from. Their frantic attempts to get back using any and all means accessible delivered the lockdown incapable in a few regions, provoking conflicts with authorities, last-minute approaches, alleviation, and, in the end, unplanned transport measures. This paper expects to reveal insight into the weakness of India's internal migrants as far as their gender, mobility, and emotional wellbeing. As COVID-19 was India’s first significant outbreak in 2020, the “reverse migration” proves to be the second major outbreak.

BEHAVIORAL SCENARIOS OF STUDENTS IN THE FORMATION OF THE IMAGE OF THE UNIVERSITY: EXPERIENCE OF NARRATIVE ANALYSIS

The article presents the results of a study aimed at identifying behavioral scenarios of students of the Institute of Social Communications in the narrative about the Udmurt State University. The typology of behavioral scenarios was built using narrative analysis based on the methodological foundations laid down in the works of G. Rosenthal. The research possibilities of the method of narrative analysis in the study of large social groups on a given topic were considered, the parameters of the external and internal image of the Udmurt State University and the Institute of Social Communications were determined, on the basis of narrative essays / individual biographies, idealtypical / behavioral scenarios of students were identified as stable, repeating in a certain sequence ways of categorizing ideas about the image of the university in everyday life.The sample consisted of students (N=378, 25 % - men) Institute of Social Communications of the Udmurt State University (bachelor's degree, full-time education, 2-4 courses) in all areas of study (Advertising and public relations, Tourism, Hotel business, Organization of work with youth, Cultural Studies). The experience of narrative analysis has confirmed the validity of the ideas that in order to conduct narrative and analytical studies of large social groups, it is necessary to collect data with direct reference to the carriers of the corresponding group identity. Based on the identified behavioral scenarios of students, it is possible to assess the image of an educational institution with a forecast of its formation.

Social Interactions within Participative Models of Distributed Networking: Updating Concepts in the Context of Digital Transformation

Sociological analysis of up-to-date social practices, communication and interaction forms among community members, local and virtual groups is based on a number of methodological approaches that need to be reconceived today in connection with the digital transformations of social processes and structures. Socio-managerial approaches used in the era of traditional and modern society (modernity) do not cover the total social reality and do not reply to the tasks and social practices of the post-modern information society (“meta-modernity”). In these conditions, the rethinking is required for the implementation of the basic concepts such as democratic instruments of state regulation, once rejected by Plato and Aristotle and then again proposed at a new round of social development by K. Popper. The concept of participation, which returned to sociological, socio-anthropological and socio-economic discourse in the middle of the twentieth century, needs to be developed in the era of total digitalization, additionally accelerated by measures of social isolation in connection with the pandemic (the transition to remote work, the expansion of online services, etc.). The article attempts to present new aspects of the concept of participation in relation to understanding the models of distributed networks of economic relations (sharing) and, in general, to digital forms of social communications in society.
