PurposeThis study investigates the impact of blockchain technology on green supply chain practices with the aim to promote pro-environmental settings in supply chains of manufacturing firms. Moreover, mediating role of environmental orientation is examined between blockchain technology and green supply chain practices. Also, moderating role of technological orientation in this connection is undertaken.Design/methodology/approachThe authors have applied a quantitative methodology in which a questionnaire was developed from literature. After that, data are collected from manufacturing firms of Malaysia. The data collected are analysed by using PLS-SEM in which multiple regression and moderation are applied.FindingsThe results of this study confirm the positive impact of blockchain on green supply chain practices. Also, the mediating role of environmental orientation is revealed in this relationship. Moreover, technological orientation is confirmed as a moderator which strengthens the relationship between blockchain technology and green supply chain practices.Research limitations/implicationsThis study has collected data from manufacturing firms of Malaysia. However, the authors have not undertaken service sector firms. Thus, they recommend future researchers to consider service sector firms in this context. Moreover, they have taken SMEs for this study and have neglected large firms. Therefore, in future, large firms could be taken to test the current study's perspective in them. Furthermore, this study suggests to the policymaker and managers, especially of manufacturing concerns, to infuse Industry 4.0 technologies such as blockchain technology because of its manifold benefits.Practical implicationsThis study suggests to the policymaker and managers, especially of manufacturing concerns, to infuse Industry 4.0 technologies such as blockchain technology because of its manifold benefits. First, it will enhance the integration across the streams of the supply chain; secondly, it will improve the demand and supply planning which will eliminate the extra production and will enable firms to adopt just-in-time production by saving various costs associated otherwise. Importantly, these processes are against the pro-environmental behaviour which is pivotal to achieve green supply chain practices.Originality/valueThis study contributes by joining the technological perspective of Industry 4.0 technologies and sustainability perspective of green supply chain in manufacturing concerns. In addition, the related concepts of technological orientation and environmental orientation are also undertaken to further adjoin the former fields. As a practical contribution, this study will, first, enhance the integration across the streams of supply chain; secondly it will improve the demand and supply planning which will eliminates the extra production and will enable firms to adopt just-in-time production by saving various costs associated otherwise. It is also suggested to instil pro-environmental behaviour or environmental orientation in the employees at all levels of firm. Moreover, technological orientation should also be improved by emphasizing on the importance of technology for environmentally friendly and green supply chain practices.

This paper proposes a distributed computational system that contains multimedia didactic material related to the use of exact sciences in daily life. This system makes available the knowledge generated by local citizens to regular population in the location where that knowledge is used. The access to the material is made by using QR codes located a long the city which are read by using mobile devices. The system allows users to know about exact sciences utilized in the creation or the use of products and services available in their own community. The knowledge is then available at any moment and it is accessible in the location where it is used. This project is being tested in the city of Poza Rica, Mexico with the intention of strengthening the scientific and technological orientation in the population and the results are shown in this paper.

This study discusses to explain the Role of Product Innovation Mediating Technology Orientation to Competitive Advantages. The sample used was 62respondents obtained using non probability sampling method consisting of purposive sampling residing in the city of Denpasar, and having made transactions or used the services of Gojek. Data was collected using a full questionnaire and using a Likert scale. Data were analyzed using path analysis techniques and sobel tests. The results of this study prove that technological orientation is positive and significant towards the product innovation and competitive advantage. Product innovation are positive and significant to competitive advantage. Supported product innovation mediates an integrated orientation to competitive advantage. The implications of this research provide advice for Gojek Indonesia to support product improvement and pay attention to technological orientation related to the creation of superior competitiveness.

Purpose: The research was done to establish the influence of technological orientation on performance of Conventional and Islamic banking in Kenya.Methododology: The study adopted a mixed methods research design based on descriptive, non-experimental and causal approaches. This study considered a census that targeted a population of all the forty three (43) commercial banks that were operational in Kenya as at 31st December 2016. The commercial banks also consist of Islamic banks which offer Shari’ah compliant products and services. This study used a questionnaire as the main instrument for primary data collection. Data preparation started start by coding and cleaning, the primary data obtained from the questionnaires were checked for omissions, legibility and consistency before being coded for analysis. Processed data was analysed by using both descriptive and inferential statistics. Stata version 15 was be used for statistical analysis and presentation tables of the results processed in Microsoft excel. Descriptive analysis was done for the observed indicators and presented as frequency, percentages, mean and standard deviation to reveal the distribution trends. The data collected was in the form of observed indicators of larger constructs thus multivariate dimension reduction techniques (factor analysis) was be used to form composite latent constructs. The latent constructs generated after dimension reduction were used for statistical modelling. Results: The findings indicated that Technical Orientation was considered as an independent variable and dimension of Strategic Orientation. It was considered to have 3 dimensions Services, Products and Research and Development. The latent construct technical orientation yielded from factor analysis dimension reduction of the indicators was then used as an independent variable in a regression model fitted against firm performance which showed that it was not a significant level-2 random covariate but had a significant coefficient estimate at the respondent level (level-1). The coefficient of technical orientation on performance at level one was found to be 0.828 which implied that increasing the levels of TO by a unit would increase the banks Performance by 0.828 regardless of the banking system.Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: The researcher recommended that the Kenyan banking sector should embrace Technology in order to tap in the untapped market through innovations for the customers to be able to conduct banking businesses at their own convenience.

Transportation in United Arab Emirates (UAE) have contributed largely to economic output, import, and export in the manufacturing sector, creating employment opportunities in service sectors and expanding the export base. They are playing a role of key service providers and vendors to many big corporations. The significance of the contributions of project management process in Road and Transportation internationally and encourages more development initiative to support road and transportation from Middle Eastern region and United Arab Emirates (UAE). This study investigates the project management process, technological orientation and organizational performance of Infrastructure in United Arab Emirates (UAE). The size of the sample is designed with a view to establish the internal and external validity in order to generalize the findings to the population. As the study used Structural Equation Modelling, a higher sample above 400 was considered. A total of 436 responses were considered for the final analysis of the study.
