Virgin Coconut Oil BUMDes Bumi Lestari has supply chain and demand chain activities. There was an imbalance in oil production which reached 1,000 liters per month with a relatively low sales volume. The aim of this research is to apply demand chain management performance assessment on a Virgin Coconut Oil BUMDes Bumi Lestari, Desa Selemadeg, Kec. Selemadeg, Kab. Tabanan. The method used in this research is performance appraisal with the demand chain operation reference model approach, AHP weighting, OMAX, traffic light system, and SWOT analysis. The results showed that the demand chain management  performance in the BUMDes Bumi Lestari Virgin Coconut Oil business was 6,388 which was in the range of 3.01 ≤ 6,388 ≤ 8.00 (quite good). The results of the SWOT analysis recommend improvements in performance such as maintaining cooperation with suppliers, maintaining cooperation with farmer groups, maintaining the quality of Virgin Coconut Oil, improving customer service, adding workers to manage marketing, improving promotional strategies, optimizing village transportation, differentiating target of fill rates , response time, and average days per schedule change based on customer type, cooperating with the Virgin Coconut Oil derivative product industries, evaluation of customer satisfactions, and cooperating with competitors

In this paper, we propose a solution for demand chain management using APIs (application programming interfaces) integration in the online real estate. We propose online real estate management system that includes advanced modules that can be bundled together, creating differentiation and enhancing the value chain. We propose a simplified implementation architecture for an integrated demand and supply chain management system for online real estate services. We use a formal specification language for specifying the functional components of the demand chain management system and interaction with real estate entities and actors. We choose an open source Customer Relationship Management system as a platform to manage some of the online real estate modules. Other value-added modules are integrated from third-party providers using their open interfaces.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to put forward a demand chain management (DCM) framework underpinned by the alignment theory and applies it to investigate the fashion apparel (FA) industry in China under the impacts of the latest economic transition. Design/methodology/approach An exploratory multiple case study methodology involving five Chinese FA firms, each with a different business model and ownership type, was employed. Semi-structured interviews, onsite observations and review of company documents were conducted to collect information for analysis. Findings Using a conceptual DCM framework as a guide for analysis, the study finds that companies with a higher level of alignment with the external market situation and among the three internal DCM dimensions, namely, market management, supply chain management (SCM), and organization management, appear to perform better under the rapidly changing economic conditions in China. Research limitations/implications This study contributes to knowledge by reviewing thoroughly the literature on SCM evolution and develops a DCM framework based on alignment theory that represents the state of the art in this area. By extending the administration-integration-production-development (A-I-P-D) logic set adopted in the alignment theory, this study has also equipped the proposed framework with an empirical tool to measure alignment. Practical implications By applying the framework to examine the Chinese apparel industry under the impacts of the latest economic transition, this study provides practitioners in the industry with a framework to help formulate strategies and a tool to measure alignment. The findings of the case study also offer insights to the industry to thrive in the rapidly changing businesses environment with dynamic uncertainties. Originality/value This study extends the application of the A-I-P-D logic set under the alignment theory to the SCM field. This endeavor successfully transforms the proposed DCM framework from a theoretical concept to a practical tool to help evaluate empirically the alignment and strategic fit of a firm and potential relationship with firm performance. As the Chinese FA market has increasingly evolved under the impact of the globalization, the findings of this study not only assist the local FA companies in coping with the dynamic uncertainties but also shed light on the future developments of the global FA industry. Besides, the alignment measurement tool embedded in the proposed DCM framework can help enhance the chances of business success during implementation.

The extant body of literature on demand chain management (DCM) is predominantly conceptual and unequivocal on how to implement it in a real business setting. Keeping the research gap into account, the study aims to identify and prioritize the DCM processes or variables in the context of Indian retailing. The data were collected using survey method using a structured questionnaire with Saaty (1980) scale. The method employed for analyzing the collected data was analytical hierarchy process or AHP. The results of the study have interesting implications for the industry vis-à-vis literature. Some quick measures revealed that the processes which are critical to implementation of DCM in retail context, in the order of importance, comprises supplier relationship management, customer relationship management assortment planning, top-management commitment and support, marketing orientation, information management, supply chain leagility, customer service management, category management, purchasing management, inventory management, and category tactics.

In 21st century, collaborative business supply chain environments are required to be proactive rather than reactive so that they can better deal with the uncertainty, growing competition, shorter cycle times, more demanding customers and pressure to cut costs. Demand chain management as a new business model requires investing in consumer insights and closer relationships in the supply chain to conduct predictive analysis of retail intelligent solutions. In this regard new kinds of methodologies are required to be discussed. However, at the execution level the limitations in terms of scalability, data integration and knowledge based decision support to providers or suppliers in terms of strategy building and in providing deductive inference capabilities are to be addressed. Therefore, it is required to describe how predictive analytics helps in constructing the knowledge base to conduct verification and validation in terms of semantic predictive analytic for the domain of demand chain management.

The study aims at determining the core variables of demand chain management (DCM) which should ideally be the focus of senior management in order to accomplish higher organizational performance through improved supply chain practices. The research follows development survey based on descriptive-analytical research design. It initially involves identification and analysis of influential factors of implementation of DCM practices. Then these variables are organized into interpretive structural questionnaire given to ten experts-five academics and five retail supply chain experts. Subsequently, in order to obtain the enablers and outcomes the factors are analyzed using interpretive structural modeling (ISM) methodology. The study concentrates upon identifying the enablers and outcomes of the DCM practices implemented by the retailers in a supply chain. The major findings of the paper are: top management commitment and support in SC is the most significant enabler with the highest driving power i.e., they must be committed to and support the adoption of DCM practices. Besides this, the variables that management must consider significant are collaborative relationship with suppliers, internal integration, coordination, and information management. Further marketing orientation seems to be playing key role as enabler. The novelty of the paper lies in the study of an emerging SC philosophy i.e. DCM and its key practices per se. It has rarely been studied from a theory building perspective hitherto. Moreover, ISM-based approach is applied for the first time to study the DCM practices and its drivers vis-a-vis dependents. The variables possessing higher driving power in ISM needs to be dealt meticulously with on top priority because sooner or later they are going to influence the variables dependent on them.
