Создание и развитие проправительственных молодежных организаций на территории северо-восточных воеводств межвоенного польского государства

The article is devoted to the development of the pro-government youth movement on the territory of the north-east voivodeships of Poland in 1921-1939. The role of the Polish authorities and the state education system in the creation and support of youth unions and associations of progovernment orientation is presented. The article analyzes the numerical and national composition of the leading "sanitation" organizations – the Strelets' Union, the Union of Rural Youth, the Organization of Working Youth and a number of other associations operating in the north-east voivodeships of interwar Poland.

O administracji ogólnej II Rzeczypospolitej uwag kilka w świetle monografii Jarosława Kostrubca „Administracja ogólna w myśli prawniczej Drugiej Rzeczypospolitej”

<p>This review article is devoted to the problems of general administration in interwar Poland, based on Jarosław Kostrubiec’s monograph entitled <em>Administracja ogólna w myśli prawniczej Drugiej Rzeczypospolitej</em>. The Author’s main goal was to determine the political and legal position of general administration in Polish jurisprudence of the discussed period, which found expression not only in the literature of the subject, but first and foremost in the premises and drafts of normative acts, as well as the propositions of then functioning Commissions for the Improvement of Public Administration. This objective has been achieved, and the reader has been presented with a concise monograph, which presents the doctrine’s view of the important concepts of administrative law and the science of administration: general administration, consolidation of administration, and deconcentration of administration. The unquestionable achievement of the Author is his references to the currently binding doctrine of administrative law when analyzing the conceptual nomenclature of the Second Polish Republic. This has allowed to bring the achievements of Polish jurisprudence of the interwar period closer to his contemporaries.</p>

ЛЕТОПИСЕЦ ВСЕРОССИЙСКОГО ЦЕРКОВНОГО СОБОРА 1917–1918 гг.

Аннотация. Статья посвящена истории жизни и деятельности Вячеслава Васильевича Богдановича (1878–1939/1940) – выдающегося православного публициста, политика, педагога, организатора в межвоенной Польше особого «патриаршего прихода» – верного патриарху Тихону. Избранный от мирян Литовской епархии в состав членов Священного Собора Православной Российской Церкви 1917–1918 гг., он стал подлинным его летописцем, составителем весьма значимых воспоминаний о нем, а также создателем графической галереи портретов членов Собора, включая самого себя. Как один из признанных лидеров белорусского национального движения во II Речи Посполитой В. В. Богданович, дважды избиравшийся в польский Сенат, многое сделал для защиты религиозных начал своего народа, а также всех православных в межвоенной Польше. Abstract. The article is devoted to the history of the life and work of Vyacheslav Vasilyevich Bogdanovich (1878-1939/1940) – an outstanding Orthodox publicist, politician, teacher, organizer in interwar Poland of a special «patriarchal parish» – loyal to Patriarch Tikhon. Elected from the laity of the Lithuanian diocese as a member of the Holy Council of the Orthodox Russian Church in 1917–1918, he became its original chronicler, the compiler of very significant memories of it, as well as the creator of a graphic gallery of portraits of members of the Council, including himself. As one of the recognized leaders of the Belarusian national movement in the second Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, V. V. Bogdanovich, who was twice elected to the Polish Senate, did much to protect the religious principles of his people, as well as all Orthodox Christians in interwar Poland.

Dissolution and Separation of Marriage and Their Effects as Envisaged by Drafts of Marriage Law in Interwar Poland

Rozwiązanie i rozłączenie małżeństwa oraz ich skutki w projektach prawa małżeńskiego w Drugiej Rzeczypospolitej Istotą małżeństwa była stałość wspólnego pożycia małżeńskiego mająca na celu wzajemną pomoc oraz zrodzenie i wychowywanie dzieci. Podzielone społeczeństwo Drugiej Rzeczypospolitej toczyło spory wokół charakteru prawa małżeńskiego, przez co nie doszło do ujednolicenia tej gałęzi prawa w okresie międzywojennym. Konsekwencje na gruncie prawa cywilnego wywołane międzywojenną mozaiką prawną były odczuwane jeszcze w okresie Polski Ludowej. Projekt Komisji Kodyfikacyjnej ogłoszony publicznie i poddawany opinii społecznej w postaci ankiet oraz publicznych dyskusji został skrytykowany przez środowisko konserwatywne. Dwóch przedstawicieli tegoż środowiska przygotowało swoje projekty prawa małżeńskiego. Byli nimi Zygmunt Liskowski, którego projekt prawa małżeńskiego oparty na systemie wyznaniowym poparł Episkopat oraz projekt księdza Jerzego Jaglarza w dużej mierze powielający rozwiązania prawne zawarte w projekcie Karola Lutostańskiego. Z uwagi na to, że celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie instytucji rozwodu i separacji oraz ich skutków w powyższych projektach prawa małżeńskiego okresu międzywojennego, zastosowano tu przede wszystkim metodę historyczno-prawną oraz komparatystyczną.

Poland's Colonial Aspirations and the Question of a Mandate over Liberia, 1933–1939

This article examines Poland's political and economic involvement in Liberia in the 1930s in an attempt to address the question of how countries that were not classical colonial powers were engaging in colonialism. Interwar Poland was a newly established country struggling to achieve political stability and economic growth. Looking for a solution to the economic difficulties, Poland started to show an interest in obtaining colonies in Africa. This interest developed into the colonial movement. Poland attempted to establish a long-lasting economic and political presence in Liberia in the 1930s. This attempt failed; however, Polish involvement in Liberia demonstrates the effect that the idea of colonialism had on Polish society and the Polish government.

Ukrainian Historical Institutions in Interwar Poland: the Attempt to Generalise

Мета статті. На основі аналізу різнопланової історіографічної літератури узагальнено інституційну структуру української історичної науки у міжвоєнній Польщі. Методологія дослідження ґрунтується на використанні міждисциплінарного підходу. Виходячи з принципів об’єктивності та історизму, дослідницький акцент зроблено на структурно-функціональному системному аналізі історіографічних фактів і порівняльно-історичному методі. У статті використано евристичні можливості методів періодизації, класифікації і типологізації. Наукова новизна статті полягає у спробі узагальнення інституційної структури української гуманітаристики в Другій Речі Посполитій. Висновки. Українські інтелектуали в Другій Речі Посполитій, подекуди за сприяння представників польської влади, але частіше наперекір її антиукраїнській політиці, загалом добре адаптувалися до наявних у країні суспільно-політичних реалій. Відповідаючи на численні виклики, вони успішно трансформували набутий у попередній період інституційний досвід української гуманітаристики та, попри значні фінансові труднощі, ініціювали створення нових науково-дослідних інституцій, чиї співробітники опрацьовували найбільш перспективні тоді українознавчі проблеми. Специфікою української гуманітаристики в Другій Речі Посполитій був її інституційний поділ між Львовом та Варшавою. І тут, попри насиченість міжособистісних взаємин між галицькими вченими та їхніми наддніпрянськими колегами-емігрантами у польській столиці, так і не вдалося налагодити повноцінної інституційної співпраці. Це призвело до дублювання організаційних структур, котрі нерідко займалися подібною проблематикою. Така ситуація, котра вочевидь не відповідала скромним матеріальним і людським ресурсам тогочасної української науки, мала наслідком неузгодженість наукових проєктів, а іноді – й особистісну конфліктність. Утім, саме наявні у Другій Речі Посполитій українські історичні інституції були перенесені у повоєнному часі емігрантами до країн вільного світу, що дозволило вітчизняній гуманітаристиці перетривати часи комуністичного експерименту на Батьківщині та зберегти інституційну пам‘ять.

THE ACTIVITY OF UKRAINIAN CONSUMER COOPERATIVES IN DROHOBYCH REGION IN THE 1920‒1930s

Summary. The purpose of the study is to characterize the activities of Ukrainian consumer cooperatives in the Drohobych region in the 1920s and 1930s to show their role in the economic protection of the Galician population in the interwar Poland. The research methodology is based on the principles of historicism, systematization, scientificity, authorial objectivity as well as the use of general scientific and special-historical methods. The scientific novelty lies in the study of the development of consumer cooperation in Drohobych in the 1920s ‒ 1930s. Conclusions. Consumer cooperation in the Drohobych region in the interwar period was represented by two organizations ‒ "Narodna Torhivlya" (People’s Trade) and "Tsentrsouz" (the Central Union). These two centers cooperated actively in order to develop economic and consumer cooperation. Ukrainian consumer cooperation in the interwar period strengthened its position aimed at improving the quality of life, strengthening the economic independence of the Ukrainians in Galicia and contributing to the growth of their national consciousness.
