On General Properties of Degenerate Systems of Second Order Partial Differential Equations of Hypergeometric Type

For the first time, the general properties of degenerate related hypergeometric systems such as Horn, Whittaker, Bessel and Laguerre are investigated together. The joint research allowed to reveal their various common properties and to establish a number of new degenerate related systems. They are all private cases of the common system offered by the authors for consideration. For the full study, it is important to classify its regular and irregular special curves and to identify the types of corresponding solutions. In this paper, they are implemented using simple rules. Special attention is paid to the construction of normal and regular solutions, because the solutions of all related degenerate systems such as Horn, Whittaker, Bessel and Laguerre near the irregular singularity on infinity relate to this species. Peculiarities of building normal-regular solutions by the Frobenius-Latysheva method are shown. All constructed normal-regular solutions are expressed through the function of Humbert  variables, which is the solution of degenerate hypergeometric system of Horn type. As an example, the cases  where, along with the application of the Frobenius-Latysheva method, the possibility of outputting new degenerate related systems is demonstrated.

Moduli of wild Higgs bundles on with -actions

We study a set $\mathcal{M}_{K,N}$ parameterising filtered SL(K)-Higgs bundles over $\mathbb{C}P^1$ with an irregular singularity at $z = \infty$ , such that the eigenvalues of the Higgs field grow like $\vert \lambda \vert \sim \vert z^{N/K} \mathrm{d}z \vert$ , where K and N are coprime. $\mathcal{M}_{K,N}$ carries a $\mathbb{C}^\times$ -action analogous to the famous $\mathbb{C}^\times$ -action introduced by Hitchin on the moduli spaces of Higgs bundles over compact curves. The construction of this $\mathbb{C}^\times$ -action on $\mathcal{M}_{K,N}$ involves the rotation automorphism of the base $\mathbb{C}P^1$ . We classify the fixed points of this $\mathbb{C}^\times$ -action, and exhibit a curious 1-1 correspondence between these fixed points and certain representations of the vertex algebra $\mathcal{W}_K$ ; in particular we have the relation $\mu = {k-1-c_{\mathrm{eff}}}/{12}$ , where $\mu$ is a regulated version of the L 2 norm of the Higgs field, and $c_{\mathrm{eff}}$ is the effective Virasoro central charge of the corresponding W-algebra representation. We also discuss a Białynicki–Birula-type decomposition of $\mathcal{M}_{K,N}$ , where the strata are labeled by isomorphism classes of the underlying filtered vector bundles.

Isomonodromic Laplace transform with coalescing eigenvalues and confluence of Fuchsian singularities

We consider a Pfaffian system expressing isomonodromy of an irregular system of Okubo type, depending on complex deformation parameters $$u=(u_1,\ldots ,u_n)$$ u = ( u 1 , … , u n ) , which are eigenvalues of the leading matrix at the irregular singularity. At the same time, we consider a Pfaffian system of non-normalized Schlesinger-type expressing isomonodromy of a Fuchsian system, whose poles are the deformation parameters $$u_1,\ldots ,u_n$$ u 1 , … , u n . The parameters vary in a polydisc containing a coalescence locus for the eigenvalues of the leading matrix of the irregular system, corresponding to confluence of the Fuchsian singularities. We construct isomonodromic selected and singular vector solutions of the Fuchsian Pfaffian system together with their isomonodromic connection coefficients, so extending a result of Balser et al. (I SIAM J Math Anal 12(5): 691–721, 1981) and Guzzetti (Funkcial Ekvac 59(3): 383–433, 2016) to the isomonodromic case, including confluence of singularities. Then, we introduce an isomonodromic Laplace transform of the selected and singular vector solutions, allowing to obtain isomonodromic fundamental solutions for the irregular system, and their Stokes matrices expressed in terms of connection coefficients. These facts, in addition to extending (Balser et al. in I SIAM J Math Anal 12(5): 691–721, 1981; Guzzetti in Funkcial Ekvac 59(3): 383–433, 2016) to the isomonodromic case (with coalescences/confluences), allow to prove by means of Laplace transform the main result of Cotti et al. (Duke Math J arXiv:1706.04808, 2017), namely the analytic theory of non-generic isomonodromic deformations of the irregular system with coalescing eigenvalues.

D-modules of pure Gaussian type and enhanced ind-sheaves

Differential systems of pure Gaussian type are examples of D-modules on the complex projective line with an irregular singularity at infinity, and as such are subject to the Stokes phenomenon. We employ the theory of enhanced ind-sheaves and the Riemann–Hilbert correspondence for holonomic D-modules of D’Agnolo and Kashiwara to describe the Stokes phenomenon topologically. Using this description, we perform a topological computation of the Fourier–Laplace transform of a D-module of pure Gaussian type in this framework, recovering and generalizing a result of Sabbah.

On Boundary Layer Expansions for a Singularly Perturbed Problem with Confluent Fuchsian Singularities

We consider a family of nonlinear singularly perturbed PDEs whose coefficients involve a logarithmic dependence in time with confluent Fuchsian singularities that unfold an irregular singularity at the origin and rely on a single perturbation parameter. We exhibit two distinguished finite sets of holomorphic solutions, so-called outer and inner solutions, by means of a Laplace transform with special kernel and Fourier integral. We analyze the asymptotic expansions of these solutions relatively to the perturbation parameter and show that they are (at most) of Gevrey order 1 for the first set of solutions and of some Gevrey order that hinges on the unfolding of the irregular singularity for the second.
