Research on values is important both for the development of sociology and for. practices of social management, they provide the necessary basis for effective public policy.The purpose of this article was to analyze the current agenda for the study of values by building theoretical and methodological thematic clusters. An optional task was to describe the thematic thesaurus used by the authors of the articles on values. The hypothesis was tested that the theory of social status in relation to economic topics received the greatest recognition in the current agenda. The study was carried out in a quantitative design, the method of content analysis was used, followed by the calculation of the c-correlation coefficient between the three semantic components of the study: topic, theory, methodology. The empirical material was the abstracts of 132 articles published in 21 sociological journals, included in the 1 quartile of Scopus in 2016–2020. Articles were selected according to the author’s search method. The limitations of the study are the 5-year time period, the language of the article (English), the use of only abstract texts for analysis, and not the articles themselves, the author’s method of building clusters (it is possible to build clusters on other grounds).Results. The main hypothesis was confirmed. The strongest connection was recorded between the theory of social status and economic topics (c-correlation coefficient — 0.62). The smallest connection was found between family values and theories about values as ideal representations (0.21). At the same time, the coefficient of connection between theories and research topics is, on average, lower than that of methodologies and topics. Qualitative methodology is mentioned by authors of articles on values a little more often than quantitative one. (114 qualitative versus 103 quantitative). In the thematic thesaurus, the greatest diversity is recorded in the research area “Labor and Economics”, the least — in the areas “Family” and “Education”. Despite the fact that the group of articles dealing with values in the sphere of politics is the second largest in the sample with 87 articles (66%), only 15 frequently used terms were included in its thematic thesaurus. In the area of “Labor and Economics”, 65 significant terms were identified; in total, materials of 111 articles (84%) were attributed to this area.The directions of further research are related to the study of the isomorphism of the agenda for the study of values in international and Russian sociology, as well as the analysis of substantive discrepancies in the study of values in the same sphere of life between Russian and foreign sociologists.

Indian classical music has a very long-accumulated heritage of centuries. The origin of Indian music can be traced back to nearly two thousand years ago. It is undisputedly believed that the sage Narada introduced the art of music to the Earth, also it is said that the sound that pervades the whole universe, i.e. Nadabrahma, itself represents divinity. Scientifically structured Indian music owes its origin to the Samaveda. The Veda scriptures describe all the seven notes of the raga karaharpriya in descending order, which is a favorite research topic theory and treatise writers to explore, how the core sound ‘Om’ gave rise to the various notes. The first evidential reference to music dates back to 500 BC by Panini and the first reference to musical theory dates back to 400 BC found in Rikpratisakhya. Bharata’s Natya Shastra dating 4th Century AD contains several chapters on music. This is the first known work that clearly elaborated the octave of its structured characteristics for various applications. There is an eternal statement about the history of Indian Music, that "classical Indian music is derived from the Vedas". Although no one can say that this statement is false, it is deceptively simplistic, when discussing the Relevance of Music in Vedic Traditions and contemporary context.

This article presents a new framework for analyzing compound AABA form in heavy metal music, inspired by normative theories of form in the Formenlehre tradition. A corpus study shows that a particular riff-based version of compound AABA, with a specific style of buildup intro (Attas 2015) and other characteristic features, is normative in mainstream styles of the metal genre. Within this norm, individual artists have their own strategies (Meyer 1989) for manifesting compound AABA form. These strategies afford stylistic distinctions between bands, so that differences in form can be said to signify aesthetic posing or social positioning—a different kind of signification than the programmatic or semantic communication that has been the focus of most existing music theory research in areas like topic theory or musical semiotics. This article concludes with an exploration of how these different formal strategies embody different qualities of physical movement or feelings of motion, arguing that in making stylistic distinctions and identifying with a particular subgenre or style, we imagine that these distinct ways of moving correlate with (sub)genre rhetoric and the physical stances of imagined communities of fans (Anderson 1983, Hill 2016).

Intense competition in industrial markets leads to constant changes in consumer behavior. Difficult pricing negotiations and abuse of power make it difficult for participants to interact in sales management. Taking these facts into account, it should be noted that for the sales manager, price becomes an indicator of success in the end result of negotiations. At the same time, surveys of heads of sales departments in the industrial sector show that, among other important elements of negotiations, are the duration of the business relationship, the reputation of the supplier. Despite these tendencies, questions remain about other factors that can consciously or unconsciously influence the negotiation situation, both in a positive and negative direction. The research results were carried out in accordance with the order of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation of March 20, 2020 No. 0564 / o "On the organization of the implementation of the second stage of fundamental research works carried out within the framework of the state assignment in 2020." on the topic "Theory of consumer behavior in the modern economy".

The ever-advancing world of technology has made it possible for people to work from home and this has affected the way people, especially employees work. It has also benefitted them during this difficult time of pandemic. Working from home which is also known as teleworking is when employees carry out their organisational responsibilities remotely such as in their homes instead of the norm of working in the office. Previous studies have only discussed the topic theory wise, but the feelings or views of employees on the topic have not been thoroughly studied. The purpose of this study is to explore the advantages and disadvantages of working from home from the employees' perspectives. Specifically, this quantitative study investigates how employees feel about working from home in the aspects of family values, increase of performance, isolation, and disrupt work-life balance. A survey via Google Form using Likert scales was used as the instrument which was answered by 110 respondents. Findings revealed that a majority of the respondents agreed that working from home has more advantages than the disadvantages and this showed that working from home brings more convenience for the employees. <p> </p><p><strong> Article visualizations:</strong></p><p><img src="/-counters-/edu_01/0730/a.php" alt="Hit counter" /></p>

The major part of this chapter surveys how music expresses the ten complex emotions of wonder, the sublime, nostalgia, hope, pride, shame, jealousy, envy, disgust, and boredom. Building on the categorical theory of Chapter 2, it explores the extent that complex emotions compound basic ones, or whether they constitute essential emotions in themselves. The chapter considers issues such as display rules, the reality of basic emotions, and the relationship of emotions to topic theory. The survey of ten complex emotions includes a rehabilitation of wonder, and negative emotions that are normally considered nonaesthetic, such as jealousy and disgust. As in Chapter 2, each of the ten complex emotions is considered in relation to an analysis of music from the common practice period.

ScreenPlay is a unique interactive computer music system (ICMS) that draws upon various computational styles from within the field of human–computer interaction (HCI) in music, allowing it to transcend the socially contextual boundaries that separate different approaches to ICMS design and implementation, as well as the overarching spheres of experimental/academic and popular electronic musics. A key aspect of ScreenPlay’s design in achieving this is the novel inclusion of topic theory, which also enables ScreenPlay to bridge a gap spanning both time and genre between Classical/Romantic era music and contemporary electronic music; providing new and creative insights into the subject of topic theory and its potential for reappropriation within the sonic arts.

The aim of the paper is to present the concept of topics (Gr. τοπικά) in music, which entails a presentation of its uses in the history of culture and literary studies. Thanks to such a broad context, it will be possible to interpret this Greek term more fully as applied to musicology and to the analysis of selected examples of musical works. The article consists of three complementary parts. The first deals with the origins of the concept, derived from ancient rhetoric and discussed, among others, by Aristotle, Cicero, and Boethius. The second part of the article presents topics in the context of analyses by Ernst Robert Curtius, Janina Abramowska, and Jacek Jadacki in the field of literary studies. The last and most extensive part of this paper is dedicated to the place of topics in musicology on the example of several authors. I discuss writings on topic theory, which since the 1980s has mainly been developed by researchers from Anglo-Saxon countries.
