One focus of church service is to prepare Christian families who live righteously through premarital counseling.Marriage is prepared for a lifetime. One of the efforts of the church in realizing church members who live holy lives is by giving teachings about love and choosing a partner according to the Bible so that church members do not commit adultery and sexual intercours outside of marriage which results in pregnancy outside of marriage.  This study aims to understand marriage and build a Christian family that is in accordance with the Bible and provide understanding that having sexual relation not within the container of Christian marriage is adultery so that both men and women need to confess their sins before God.  It was concluded that the Church is responsible for providing pastoral care to couples who become pregnant out of wedlock. The church in carrying out the principle of love still observes the rules so that the maturity of the church members become realized.

Samrat Upadhyay’s The Guru of Love has (mis)represented Nepali culture, society and thoughts from Western perspective. The writer has applied Western standards of life to represent Orient culture and society where he seems to have misguided somewhere. He has mentioned in the novel that Easterners have suffered from inferior thoughts and practices, the society has slavish mind-set regarding gender issues and sexual psychology, the society is poverty-stricken and it is full of the people with corrupt mind. The novel explains that females have been victimized from males’ domination practicing sexual violence, harassment and gender discrimination and dominance. Upadhayay has discussed about his birth place, cultures, society, language, religion, relatives, illicit sexual relation and political chaos which has helped to create a ‘discourse’ about Nepali society. The article argues how the novelist has (mis) represented the Nepai culture by discussing socio-cultural practices and it analyzes how it has tried to serve the palate of the Western readership.

Objective: To identify the attitudes elderly women have with respect to their sexuality. Material and method: Exploratory, descriptive study of qualitative approach conducted during the second semester of 2018, with the participation of 19 elderly women, between 60 and 69 years of age, members of two groups for the elderly located in the city of Rio Grande-RS, Brazil. Data was collected through individual, semistructured interview and audio recorded. Thereafter, the data were subjected to the Bardin thematic analysis. Results: Upon analyzing the data, four categories emerged: Change in the expression of sexuality after 60 years of age; feelings derived from talking about sexuality; with whom do they talk about sexuality; importance of affective relationships for the elderly. The elderly women show favorable attitudes regarding their sexuality and noted no significant changes in the expression of sexuality after turning 60 years of age. However, they were embarrassed to talk about this matter because they had received a repressive education. In addition, they sought friends to address any questions. Conclusion: Affective, loving, and sexual relation are extremely important, given that it promotes physical and mental wellbeing, generates feelings of joy and happiness, which provides more vitality and pleasure in living to the elderly women.

This essay explores Jean-Luc Nancy’s philosophical return to Cartesian philosophy, specifically to Descartes’s preoccupation with the relation of mind and body, as a fertile ground from which to develop an ontology of the body in (1992). It explores Nancy’s reasons for revisiting the Cartesian thinking framework, which on the face of it, is of little value to an ontology of the body. I argue that Descartes’s impasse in accounting for both mind/body dualism and their union constitutes Nancy’s point of departure in constructing an ontology of the body in , thereby transforming Descartes’s impasse into a productive aporia, in the Derridean sense of the term. To fully understand the significance of the notion of “relation” in Nancy’s’ philosophy, I turn to his reading of Lacan’s famous aphorism “there is no sexual relation” and explore its ontological implications.

This paper attempts to situate Derrida’s newly discovered Geschlecht III in the four-part series Derrida dedicated to the question of sexual difference in Heidegger. Taking its point of departure from an interview conducted two years prior to Geschlecht I, the paper retraces Derrida’s itinerary toward the culminating point of the Geschlecht series, Geschlecht III, the “magnet” that orients and attracts the other three. I argue that Derrida’s initial enthusiasm for a Heideggerian “pre-dual sexuality” in Geschlecht I is significantly tempered by Derrida’s meticulous reading of Heidegger in Geschlecht III, where his reservations vis-à-vis Heidegger’s neutralization of sexual difference become all the more serious and explicit. As I show, Derrida’s “dream” of a “doubly asymmetrical” sexual relation to the other remains incompatible with the sexual gentleness Heidegger imagines between brother and sister, an ultimately Christian incest that will yet again threaten to neutralize and erase the more radical sexual difference Derrida is trying to think.

Palavras-chave: Conhecimentos; Educação Sexual; Adolescentes; Questionário ABSTRACTKnowledge, as a factor that exerts influence on attitudes, is a fundamental prerequisite in prevention programs of risky sexual behaviours. The aim of this study was to develop an instrument that would assess the knowledge that adolescents have about sexuality. The Knowledge about Sexuality Questionnaire assesses the knowledge in a difficulty continuum and also the distinction of students with different levels of knowledge. The sample was composed by 1545 adolescents with a mean age of 16 years (SD=1.80) that attend school. The results show that girls are more informed than boys, and that Portuguese adolescents older than 15, without religion, with more than 5 years of sexual education in school and having their mothers as sexual educators are the ones with more knowledge about sexuality. The attitudes of the adolescents towards the use of condom are associated with the knowledge they have about it and the adolescents that used condom in their last sexual relation reveal higher levels of knowledge. Keywords: Knowledge; Sexual Education; Adolescents; Questionnaire
