The Inventory Control System of Reverse Logistics for E-Commerce Packaging Recovery Based on BP Neural Network

The paper combines BP neural network to optimize the control system of e-commerce packaging and reverse logistics inventory. Through improving the hardware configuration structure of the system, the system can be improved and the operation effect of the system can be improved. The software flow and operation algorithm of the storage control system of e-commerce packaging recycling reverse logistics are optimized step by step, and the logistics is delivered by following the vehicle on the spot and visiting the logistics The distribution personnel collect the relevant data and data in the process of logistics and transportation, draw the reverse logistics business flow chart, point out the situation of reverse logistics before and after the goods distribution and distribution due to the cancellation of orders or transactions by customers, and the application for return of goods after the transaction. Meanwhile, it points out that the sales return operation site in the reverse logistics management process is chaotic and not formed the clear business process specification and other problems can effectively control the reverse logistics inventory of e-commerce packaging recovery. Finally, the experiment proves that the e-commerce packaging recycling reverse logistics inventory control system is more practical in the practical application process, and fully meets the research requirements.

Commercial Product Returns

The increasing use of online shopping has escalated product returns and consequently the importance of their management. In parallel, the increasing scholarly interest on the subject is reflected in the number of publications. In such fast-growing research fields, mapping the whole research activity is useful in highlighting research areas that could provide a better knowledge accumulation in the field. With this aim, this chapter conducts co-citation and co-word analysis to identify future research directions. According to results, there is a need for future research to investigate 1) the consumer reaction when the service level received conflicts with the retailer environment (un)friendly operations, 2) the impacts of retailer return policies on their reverse logistics management, 3) the implementation difficulties of handling omni-channel returns in different organizational structures, and 4) the effectiveness of technological tools and applications used to avoid returns. This chapter also discusses the implications of COVID-19 on the commercial product returns research.

Prioritizing the Solutions to Reverse Logistics Barriers for the E-Commerce Industry in Pakistan Based on a Fuzzy AHP-TOPSIS Approach

In the past few years, reverse logistics practices have successfully managed to gain more attention in various industries and among supply chain researchers and experts. This is due to globalization, environmental concerns, and customer requirements, which have asserted industries’ concerns for reverse logistics management. In E-commerce, the process of reverse logistics originates with parcel refusal, undelivered goods, and exchanges. In developing countries like Pakistan, the adoption and implications of reverse logistics are still at their early stages. E-commerce companies give more attention to forward logistics and ignore logistics’ upstream flow in the supply chain. This study aims to identify, as well as list, the barriers and obtain the solutions to those identified barriers, and rank the barriers and their solutions so that logisticians and experts can solve them as per their priority. From the extensive literature review and experts’ opinions, we have found 14 barriers in implementing effective reverse logistics. Eight solutions to those barriers were also found from the literature review. This paper proposed the methodology based on fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (fuzzy-AHP), which used to get the weights of each barrier by using pairwise comparison, and fuzzy technique for order performance by similarity to ideal solution (fuzzy-TOPSIS) method, which was adopted for the final ranking of solutions to reverse logistics. The case of the Pakistan E-commerce industry is used in the proposed method.

Management of reverse logistics in the supply chain system

The article considers the issue of return flow management in supply chains. Recently, this problem has become particularly acute due to growing economic losses and social, economic and security threats, a sharp increase in the return of unused, substandard, end-of-life products, hazardous and hazardous waste, materials for recycling and regeneration. This link of business processes was not even distinguished in the structure of the supply chain before. Based on the analysis of the theory and practice of recycling, resource conservation, recycling and disposal, the authors concluded that it is necessary to form a closed supply chain with the participation of reversible flows and based on the concept of product life cycle. The example of Ukraine illustrates the current situation with the formation and accumulation and processing of waste production and life due to the actual lack of reverse logistics services. The paper develops a comprehensive scheme-structure of existing problems of reverse logistics and offers specific recommendations for solving problems of reverse logistics management in Ukraine. Each aspect of improving the management system considered from the standpoint of economic, social, environmental, technical and technological efficiency. Particular attention paid to the relevant educational work with the population on ways to implement the principles of reversible logistics, improving the culture of consumption together with the introduction of legal and social responsibility.

INFLUENCE OF SUPPLY CHAIN SUSTAINABILITY ON PERFORMANCE OF COMPANIES IN THE OIL INDUSTRY IN KENYA.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to examine the influence of supply chain sustainability on performance of companies in the oil industry in Kenya with an aim of making recommendations on proper use of supply chain sustainability strategies. The study aimed at establishing how reverse logistics management, information technology adoption, early vendor involvement and green procurement adoption influences performance of companies in the oil industry. To achieve this, the study reviewed both theoretical and empirical literature and proposed the research methodology that addressed the gaps identified in literature as well as answer the stipulated research questions.Methodology: This research study adopted a descriptive research design approach targeting procurement staff at the 53 oil companies. This method is preferred because it allows an in-depth study of the subject. To gather data, structured questionnaire was used to collect data from 159 procurement officers, who were selected using simple random sampling, from the three strata. Once collected, data was analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Quantitative data was analysed using multiple regression analysis. The qualitative data generated was analysed by use of Statistical Package of Social Sciences (SPSS) version 22.Results: The response rate of the study was 75%. The findings of the study indicated that reverse logistics management, information technology adoption, early vendor involvement and green procurement adoption have a positive relationship with performance in companies in the oil industry.Contributions to policy and practice: The study recommended that companies in the oil industry should embrace supply chain sustainability so as to improve performance and further researches should to be carried out in other institutions to find out if the same results can be obtained.
