This study attempted to assess the implementation of the Strengthened Technical and Vocational Education Program – Competency Based Curriculum (STVEP-CBC) in Region x. The study involved nine (9) DepED Technical Vocational High Schools in Region X – Northern Mindanao. The respondents included twenty one (21) administrators and ninety one (91) teachers. Descriptive statistics were used to describe and to analyze the data. The study also utilized T – test for paired values to evaluate the difference between administrators and teachers assessments in the status of implementation of STVEP - CBC. The school administrators and teachers assessed the status of the implementation of STVEP-CBC along the aspects of its program. Findings show that both administrators and teacher respondents were assessed very satisfactory on items of Competency Assessment and Certification, Instructional and Teacher Support Material, Curriculum Instruction, Program and Project Management and Monitoring and Evaluation. On one hand, both respondents register as only satisfactory on the aspect of facilities and services. This can be due to the fact that a budgetary allocation in this area is insufficient. On the other hand, assessments of administrators and teachers vary on the following: excellent by the administrators while very satisfactory by the teachers respectively the items on Human Resource Development, Property Supply Management, Fiscal Management and Physical Plant Facility. Such high assessments of the two groups are attributed to their satisfaction level with the implementation of the different programs. The professional profiles of the respondents may also have accounted for the effectiveness on the implementation of the programs. Additional budgetary allocation and enhancement trainings for both teachers and administrators are recommended. Likewise, regular monitoring should be undertaken to keep track in the effective and efficient implementation of the program. Keywords - Strengthened Technical Vocational Education, Program – Competency Based Curriculum STVEP–CBC activities

Increasing the status of the nine-year compulsory education program into a twelve-year compulsory education program is a challenge for local governments to make it happen because of the fact that occurred in the field that the education office of Bogor Regency and Bandung District Education Office has not been able to complete the nine-year compulsory education, whereas the program is targeted to be completed in 2008 ago. This proves that the government's performance in realizing the compulsory education program is slow. To realize the twelve-year compulsory education mission required consistency in the preparation of planning and budgeting. Problem that occurs is planning and budgeting in education offices Bogor and Bandung regency is still not consistent because of the difference between programs and budgets between documents with each other. These inconsistencies affect the achievement of the twelve-year compulsory education program has not reached a predetermined target.

Aims: The study generally assessed the Technical Vocational Education Program of Davao del Sur School of Fisheries. Study Design: Quantitative-descriptive correlation. Place and Duration of Study: The study was conducted at the Davao del Sur School of Fisheries in Davao del Sur, The Philippines. The study was conducted for 10 months. Methodology: This study used the universal sampling for both sets of respondents; the teachers of TVE program and the Grade 10 students. There were 32 teachers and 322 students participated in the study. The Technical Vocational Education program was assessed in terms of library facilities and internet connectivity, Science laboratory facilities, TVE laboratory facilities and the use of information and communication technology. These were correlated to the academic performances of the students. Results: The findings of the study showed that in terms of population, 322 students were enrolled in the TVE program; majority of these students took the food processing technology course that comprised 39.45%. In terms of teachers’ qualification, 32 were Bachelor of Art or Bachelor of Secondary Education graduates. There were 18 out of 32 teachers who were teaching in TVE programs and the rest taught in other related courses. For qualification to teach in the Program, one- third of the total faculty was handling fish culture, while two third was teaching outside the flagship courses. In the assessment of the support learning facilities, the library, internet connectivity, science and laboratory facilities were described as “moderately adequate”; the TVE laboratory facilities was described as “very adequate”. In the assessment of the ICT in instruction, it was described as “very effective”. The study found significant relationship between the academic performance of the TVE students and the support learning facilities and between the academic performance of the TVE students and the used of information and communication technology (ICT) in learning. Conclusion: The school needs to maintain its support learning facilities and information and communication technology so that it can produce more competent TVE students. However, the school may look into industry partners so that actual application of students’ theoretical knowledge may be put into action. Moreover, tracer study may also be conducted to find the competitiveness and employability of the graduates.

Abstract Four kinds of Romans in the Frankish kingdoms in the 6th to 8th centuries. Roman law texts from Merowingian Gaul make a difference between cives Romani, Latini and dediticii, all considered as Romans. This difference mattered only to slaves who had been freed. The status of Latin and dediticius was hereditary, whereas the descendants of one who had been freed as civis Romanus were free born Romans, who should be classified as a proper, a fourth kind of beeing Roman; it was the standard kind. The difference was important in civil law, procedural law and criminal law, especially in wergeld, the sum to be payed for expiation when somebody had been killed: Who had killed a Roman, had to pay different sums according to the status of the killed.

Key functional elements of the vector (promoter, leader and terminator regions) that provide the expression of a target l,3-l,4-(3-glucanase gene from Rhizomucor miehei in the Komagataella kurtzmanii yeast have been optimized. It was shown that the promoter regions of the gene AOX1 from the Pichia pastoris yeast currently reclassified as Komagataella phaffti and from К. kurtzmanii yeast as parts of a vector provided equal levels of expression of the target gene in the cells of the recipient strain К. kurtzmanii Y727his4, i.e. they were completely interchangeable. This means that genetic constructs that were previously developed for the biosynthesis of recombinant proteins in К. phajfii are able to provide an effective expression in the К kurtzmanii yeast. The leader peptide MF4I (used as a variant of mif4I containing one amino acid substitution) and the leader peptide maxHH (containing the double proregion of the Hspl50 protein from Saccharomyces cerevisiae) confirmed the status of the most powerful elements among the five leader sequences analyzed. Their efficiency was 1.7 times higher than that of the standard leader from the yeast alpha-factor, and by 20% higher than the characteristics of the second group of artificial leaders. At the same time, it was found that, the choice of the terminator region had the strongest influence on the expression of the target gene among all of the vector functional elements. The best terminator elements were variants derived from the transcription termination region of the AOX1 gene, and the difference in the expression level of the target gene using different terminators was approximately 4.5 times. Based on the analysis of the obtained data, the optimal composition of the key functional elements of the expression vector was determined ; it included the promoter and terminator regions of the AOX1 yeast gene and one of the artificial leaders, mif4I or maxHH. β-glucanase, Komagataella kurtzmanii, yeast, secretion, strain producer The work was financially supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher education of the Russian Federation (Unique Project Identifier RFMEFI60717X0179) using the Unique Scientific Facility of the National Bio-Resource Center «All-Russian Collection of Industrial Microorganisms», NRC «Kurchatov Institute» - GOSNIIGENETIKA

Most of traditional Muslim exegetes interpret Q. 4:34 in terms of maintaining the superiority of men over women. Some progressive Muslim scholars then insist a contextual approach to the verse to criticize gender inequality. Among some progressive Muslim scholars, this article comparatively examines the interpretations of Amina Wadud and Mohammed Talbi of Q. 4:34. Although both of them propose a contextual reading of the verse, they have different intellectual background, approach and method in interpreting the Qur’ān. The questions are to what extent the similarities and differences of both Wadud’s and Talbi’s interpretation of Q. 4:34 and how far their interpretations reflect their respective intention and perspective? Applying Gadamer’s hermeneutical approach, the article concludes that [1] Both Wadud and Talbi argue that the verse does not establish the superiority of men over women, but acknowledges duties division among married couple; [2] the difference among their interpretations is on the status of relationship among married couple; [3] Wadud’s and Talbi’s interpretations represent their respective hermeneutical situations and the way they define ontologically the nature of  interpretation and Qur’anic hermeneutics affect on producing the meanings of the verse.

In this paper we argue that to understand the difference Posthumanism makes to the relationship between archaeology, agency and ontology, several misconceptions need to be corrected. First, we emphasize that Posthumanism is multiple, with different elements, meaning any critique needs to be carefully targeted. The approach we advocate is a specifically Deleuzian and explicitly feminist approach to Posthumanism. Second, we examine the status of agency within Posthumanism and suggest that we may be better off thinking about affect. Third, we explore how the approach we advocate treats difference in new ways, not as a question of lack, or as difference ‘from’, but rather as a productive force in the world. Finally, we explore how Posthumanism allows us to re-position the role of the human in archaeology,

Philip S. Hench, MD, the first Mayo Clinic rheumatologist, came to Mayo Clinic in 1921. Because of his efforts in patient care, education, and research, and those of his colleagues, Mayo Clinic has been considered the first academic rheumatology center established in the United States. An early, popular lecture he gave to the internal medicine residents was an important and unique part of the rheumatology education program and was entitled “Axiomatic Generalizations Useful in the Diagnosis of Rheumatic Diseases.” We review the axioms in light of the status of rheumatology in the 1920s and 1930s when they were written, and assess their relevance today, 70 to 80 years later.
