The general public has become increasingly concerned about the accomplishments of education. Accrediting bodies are holding institutions of higher education accountable for educational services and are demanding a variety of assessment activities. This study is a study study that analyzes the role of metacognitive strategies with the help of the PQ4R method on academic achievement of PIAUD students at the Sunan Giri Bojonegoro Institute of Islamic Religion. Students in this case are students who follow the learning process in higher education who are required to equip themselves with standardized competencies created with academic achievement, as a provision to take positions and support in an increasingly competitive world of work. Based on the results of data analysis of interviews, observations and questionnaires showed that the use of metacognitive strategies with the help of the PQ4R method had a significant role in student academic achievement in cognitive courses.

Introduction. Higher education has been constantly upgrading, competition in the educational services market is intensifying in recent years. This leads to an increase in the role of marketing in the activities of higher education institutions. It is necessary to constantly look for new ways to improve the efficiency of the management of higher education institutions. Such an opportunity exists only with the constant use of marketing and the improvement of its tools. In connection with the mentioned, important and actual tasks of the present time is research and improvement of the methodology of developing an advertising campaign of higher education institutions in order to enable educational institutions to overcome existing problems in their marketing activities and develop this trend in the future. Methods. Commonly used methods of research are used in the course of the research: dialectic, monographic method, abstract and logical, method of scientific generalization, and specific methods of statistical processing of information. Results. The article deals with the general situation on the domestic market of educational services. The specifics of advertising activity of educational institutions are revealed, in particular, the necessity to study this issue, due to its urgency and lack of elaboration, is substantiated. Advertising activity is considered as a necessary condition and factor of sustainability, the competitiveness of the educational institution and its success in the education market. It is indicated on the preconditions of reorientation of priorities of educational activity into the sphere of improvement of marketing activity and advertising process of an educational institution, as well as tasks, which should carry out advertising activity in the field of educational services. Discussion. Further research is planned to be carried out in order to assess the effectiveness of the use of modern marketing tools by higher education institutions. AbstractThe article deals with studying the peculiarities in the organization of future translators’ self-directed learning at US universities. It has been stated that various researches on the problem prove the underestimation of self-directed learning that leads to insufficient professional competency of future translators. It has been found out that to create an environment favourable for self-directed learning educators should consider four factors, namely, autonomy and responsibility, complexity, duration, “voice and choice”. It has been indicated that the system of independent learning and teaching consists of three components – teacher, learner and communication method. The traits of autonomous learners have been listed. The functions of self-directed learning in US higher education institution have been presented. Six ways of supporting autonomy, namely, classroom-based, curriculum-based, teacher-based, learner-based, resource-based, technology-based, have been singled out and analyzed. The experience of the Kent State University in training future Masters of Arts in Translation has been analyzed. Based on the research performed, the positive aspects of the experience have been justified and relevant recommendations to improve the organization of future translators’ self-directed learning in Ukrainian higher education institutions have been outlined.

The Latin Music Studies (LMS) area at the Texas State University School of Music offers degree-granting programs with concentrations in mariachi and salsa. Such programs are still rare in mainstream US institutions of higher education. LMS founder John Lopez has recently developed a minor in mariachi, which in conjunction with the professional degree in music education provides students with fundamental skills in mariachi ensemble management, pedagogy, performance, and creative musicianship. The history of the minor in mariachi at Texas State University and the prominent presence of mariachi in middle schools and high schools suggest a future wherein the mariachi ensemble in Texas may enter the standard ensemble trio of the choir, band, and orchestra.

Why are institutions of higher education interested in internationalization? The question was asked at a faculty meeting in our university college. A variety of arguments and opinions were expressed. Many “when”, “what”, “how”, “who” and “why” questions were asked. Some arguments were normative and altruistic emphasizing the need of helping to develop countries in improving their educational system, others took a more ideological stand explaining internationalization within a neo-liberal and globalized frame, and some arguments emphasized the importance of a comparative approach to improve the quality of national education.

Topicality of the research subject. The government authorities are concerned about higher education as human capital is being formed in this area.This concern is lessening as macroeconomic indicators show a lack of economic opportunities. Statement of the problem. Limited state funding for higher education requires improved spending of budget funds. Analysis of the recent research and publications. The state funding of higher education is considered at the macro- and micro levels from different angles. Selection of the unresearched parts of the general problem. There is no link between state funding of higher education at the macro level and the use of government funds at the micro level. Statement of the task and the purpose of the research. The method for the assessment of the finance provision of higher education has been improved, which makes it possible to achieve congruence between the mechanism of state order and the choice of educational services by consumers. Method or methodology of the research. A method for assessing the effectiveness of the financial provision of higher education in the space that has the parameters of “educational degree” and “field of knowledge” has been proposed. Statement of the basic material (results of the work). The low effectiveness of the use of state financial resources in relation to specialties and institutions of higher education of Poltava region has been determined. In the segment of “junior specialists” 113 places of the state order were not selected, and in the segment of “bachelors” – 98 places of state order. For most specialties in the segments the license amount did not correspond to the amount of state orders. The segments of the market of educational services differed significantly as to the state order. In the segment of “junior specialists” the share of the state budget places in the amount of demand was 85.16%, the share in the segment of “bachelors” – 60.24%, and in the segment of “masters” –  36.17%. The state stimulated potential consumers with the help of the state order to buy educational services. The state did not fund the realization of the HEI potential, encouraging them to commercialize educational programs. Field of application of results. The field of higher education. Conclusions. The proposed assessment methodology enables determining the effectiveness of the use of the state financial resources for specialties and institutions of higher education and the selection of possible alternative models for the distribution of the state order for their further financing.

This article is about the essence of the concept of «educational service», its specific features and differences from other types of services. Particular attention was paid to the classification of services provided by higher education institutions. Taking into account all the specificity of the education market, services provided by institutions of higher education can be divided into educational, scientific and educative institutions. The essence of educational, scientific and educative services provided by institutions of higher education was considered. It was determined that the acquisition of higher education is one of the main directions of intellectual, cultural, spiritual, social and economic development of society. The legislative regulation of providing paid services in institutions of higher education of Ukraine was analyzed. It was determined that modern development of market relations is closely connected with the formation of the educational services market. The world experience of educational establishments activity clearly proves that the provision of high-quality scientific and educational services and skillful management of them are the guarantee of successful activity of higher educational institutions in modern conditions. The ability to form modern educational programs, to navigate the difficult and unstable conditions of market competition, to develop management mechanisms which aimed at the efficiency and quality of the educational process, allows implementation of the marketing concept of higher education institutions in practice. Nowadays it is known that marketing tools are the most effective ways of defining and researching social needs,demands and requirements. This suggests that the process of marketing incipience in education area is one of the main steps towards more qualitative and professional provision of educational services to the consumer, as well as to the market success and competitiveness of educational organizations. There are few unresolved aspects of the problem of services development in the education area left today despite the fact scientists paid a lot of attention to this problem. This leads to the study of the current state of the services market that provide institutions of higher education, the development of a modern model of cooperation in the labor market and education services market. Also, should be improved the economic mechanism of regulating the educational services market and the management system for this market.
